  1. Hi, My hubby and I are both banded. We used the same surgeon and he gave us both a prescription for Phenagrin (sp) Suppositories. We both had them filled but never used them. Did you get a prescription for these? Hope ya get to feeling better soon!
  2. Mine was this picture, I felt like a cow. I was mortified when I saw it and scared that my daughter would lose her parents at a young age.
  3. Mine has been 120% supportive. He is always telling me how wonderful I look and how much he loves me no matter what. I got banded several months before him, so we are a team now.
  4. I know it can be discouraging, but you have fat in places you can't see, like around your internal organs. Something I have noticed is that I am either losing pounds or inches, but usually not at the same time. I will stay at one weight for a couple weeks and people comment on how much I've lost because of losing inches then I drop 10lbs really fast. Don't give up!!
  5. I gained 10-15 lbs, but my initial consultation was in April and my surgery in August.
  6. Oh yeah I remember my shart days. I got them, but my hubby didn't. They wont last long I promise. Things WILL get better hang in there!
  7. Girl we need to go shopping!
  8. I'm not sure what the technical term is for them, but I will try to find out for you. I am seeing a spine surgeon, I am pretty sure he is going to do the injection. From what I gather they are pretty expensive as they are doing a pre-approval from my insurance company.
  9. Can someone please tell me what the difference between Junior and Misses sizes are? I am a bit confused. I am almost out of the Lane Bryant world and need to know where to go. Thanks!
  10. The only reason I would remove my band is if something happened to ME. I know there are many sad stories on here about slippage and erosion, but I know the percentage is small. So far so good with me. IF for some reason I did lose my band, I would have some other form of WLS at the time of removal. I refuse to be 300lbs again.
  11. Yeah I've heard that from several people that they help. I am looking forward to having it done. I figure it won't be any worse than the epidural I had with my daughter. Good to see ya on here Ray!
  12. Well it's official I have a herniated disc and something wrong with another disc above it. I am going to have an anti-inflamatory injection that is guilded via x-ray into my back sometime next week. With the pain I'm in I'm ready to do just about anything. They also want me to go to physical therapy 3x a week for 4-6 wks. That's going to fly like a lead balloon when/if I ever get a job.
  13. I didn't tell my primary care doctor until after I had it done. He has been very pleased with my results. Hubby had it done in January and is getting his first (long overdue) fill Thursday. Don't let him discourage you, you have to do what is RIGHT FOR YOU.
  14. Welcome to the board!!! Congrats on your success!
  15. Hello!! I am originally from Tyler. I'm glad to see another East Texan around here.
  16. I wouldn't focus on something so morbid. I know surgery is scary, but you will do fine!!
  17. Mine said to wait 18 months. I would definately talk to your surgeon and OB/GYN before you make a decision. Best of luck to ya!
  18. Depends on the person. I am 7 months out and over 80lbs down.
  19. I bought a size 15 from a skinny biotch store!! Not plus size, they were juniors!! This time last year I was barely fitting into a tight pair of 24's, it's so amazing!
  20. I typically don't crave anything. I know I can handle a bite or two of anything I want and that always takes the craving away. I've only been banded for about 6 months, I've noticed I go through phases as far as food goes. There are times I could care less, but when I am interested in food, it's not the same as it was before. I can't stand to be full, I hate the feeling so I always stop when I am just satisfied.
  21. I know what you mean. I am 216lbs, the smallest I've been since middle school. I still feel like I am 300lbs. I feel better than I did at 300lbs, but my mind keeps telling me to buy the size 24's and the 2x and 3x's.
  22. Looks like all the years I spent overweight has done real damage to my body. I am 27 years old with a possible herniated disc. My back is hurting me pretty good and has for quite a long time (on and off). I finally went to a specialist today and after an x-ray he told me I needed and MRI for sure. Of course they refuse to perform one until Dr. Powell says it's okay. I guess I am kinda blah about this because I had surgery to prevent these types of problems. I just wish I had insurance and a chance to have the band 10 years ago before I got upto almost 300lbs and carried it around for so long. All I can do now is know that yeah, I abused my body and move on to try to get my back better. I was just hoping it was from losing weight so fast and my body was out of alignment. :cry
  23. At times I miss my old food habits. But when I realize how much weight I have lost and the fact that the food I used to eat did me so wrong by making me almost 300lbs, I get over it real quick! Best of luck to you!
