  1. I am also a patient of Dr.Illan and had a postive experience. That being said, I was told by Omar himself that he had "hooked up" with a couple of patients. He said they basically threw themselves at him. I did advise him that he should probably keep it on a professional level. I agree these women are probably vulnerable but I also think the are fully aware of what they are doing. There were other women with the group when I was there and he didn't act inappropriate in any way that I saw. In my opinion these woman are flirting and making advances at him. The only thing wrong is that he should keep it professional while they are there for surgery. If they want to go back down and hook after they're not patience then more power to them.

    Best pureed foods

I am starting the puree stage tomorrow also thank goodness. I started getting bored with Soups today and tried scrambled egg for Breakfast with no issues. I also had some low fat cottage cheese for lunch. Keep the puree ideas coming please.

    Guy's any regrets?

Hello Guys, Surgery went well and I am now 10 days post op. I am down 11 pounds from my surgery date and 20 pounds from when I started my pre op diet for a grand total of 20 lbs. I feel good and I am working on making sure to get all my fluids and protein in. Today I have a little less energy but I was expecting that to happen at some point. I am looking forward to my six week mark when I can start eating regular food, just less of it obviously. Do you guys have any tips and pointers foe my first six weeks post op?
  5. What did or are you eating week two post op? I am looking for a one day sample diet or suggestions?

    Guy's any regrets?

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I am a little nervous but more excited about getting back into shape. I just need to keep my head down for these next five or six weeks and I am sure I will love the results.

    Guy's any regrets?

Thanks for the all the reply's they really help. I am doubting my decision less now and working on getting mentally prepared. The surgery it's self doesn't scare me it's life after surgery that has me nervous. I guess I just need to keep in my head that this is going to be a great life change and it's for the greater good. One of the main reasons I am doing this is to be able to do the physical sports I enjoy so much with my kids ten years from now. I feel better after hearing that the food restriction won't stop me from this.

    Guy's any regrets?

Do you guys do physical activities for extended periods of time post sleeve? If so how are your energy levels? Are you able to get enough food in?

    Guy's any regrets?

I'm a very physically active person but carrying this extra weight around is taking it's toll on my body. I am turning 40 with two young kids. I know this surgery will be good for my health but I am having doubts about living with the sleeve. Any active guys out there with some thoughts or advice? Will I be able to take in enough calories to ski all day or backpack for a weekend?

    Guy's any regrets?

Guy's do any of you regret your decision to get the sleeve. I'm scheduled to get surgery on Friday and having second thoughts.
  13. I am having surgery next Friday the 21st in Mexico. I start my preop diet tomorrow and I am both nervous and excited for this journey. When ever I start to doubt this decision I think forward to the future and how happy I will be six months to a year from now. I am turning 40 this year and have a four year old son and a three month old daughter. I just try to remind myself that I want to be able to ski, hike, ride motorcycles etc. with my wife and kids in ten more years. With that being said, I still have a bit of doubt that I am making the right decision and that mostly comes down to selfish reasons like not being able to eat huge meals or socially drink much. I would love to hear some positive comments on how this surgery has helped change your life. I even in encourage the negatives ones if you have any, I want to be fully informed before I get on that table.

normal not to be overly nervous?

My surgery date is one week from today February 21. I am not very nervous about the surgery procedure but more nervous about life after. I feel in my heart I am making the right decision but I will really wont know until it's done. I am turning 40 this year and have tried every fad diet out there. I always lose weight but just gain it back again. I am a very active person and it's taking a toll on my body. My wife and PCP are supporting me but in the back of my head I still feel like should have been able to lose the weight without surgery. These forums and others successes have kept me motivated and pushed me to het healthy. I have seen very few people that have regretted their decision and I don't think I will either.

Getting nervous due to all the comments I am hearing

I am having surgery on February 21st. I will be starting my preop diet in 2 days. I am excited to change my life but nervous about the whole process. I am currently weighing 285lb and I am 5'9". I have lost 30-50 pounds a dozen times over the last 10 years, just to gain it back. I am turning 40 this year and have two small children and want to be able to keep up ten years from now. I am very active skiing most weekends in the winter and dirtbike riding or hiking in the spring and summer. Carrying this extra weight is taking a toll on my joints. So here I am getting ready to make this big step. All the success stories keep me motivated.
