  1. Try not to worry. This is a healthy change you are making. It is a pretty simple surgery as far as surgeries go. They have you up and walking really quick. I am SO...... glad i had this done. Donna
  2. :ranger::clap2:Welcome to all you new folks. Try not to worry the band does work. It really helps control hunger after you get a fill or two, and even before for some people. It is a great tool. You do have to do your part tho. It is just a lot easier to do. Donna
  3. Ranch You weigh the same thing i did when i got my surgery. You will be amazed how fast it comes off if you follow the docs orders.----Dana , I went to Mexico and it was great. Dr Zapata and his staff are wonderful. Beautiful hospital and hotel. Their hospitals are much nicer than ours. The whole thing, with airfare was 8000. Saved about 10,000. Also no pre-op diet. Donna
  4. I wish i could stay at 1000 a day. But i get too hungry when i try that. I eat 1500 to 1600 a day. I go to the gym four to five times a week.I lose one to two pounds a week this way. My problem time is at night in front of the tv. Always was. I am working on this. Donna
  5. My answer is throw it out. It is horrible. Donna
  6. You need to call your doctor and ask him these things. They are all different. I did not even have to do a pre-op diet, but then i went to Mexico. Good luck, Donna
  7. Glad you found us. Good luck with your journey. Donna
  8. I love to travel and i love to read and i do both whenever i want because i am single. I love to go to the movies too. Donna
  9. You do not have a fill yet. That is why you are hungry. Eat sf popsicles. They help and they take a while to eat. It will get better. Donna
  10. If you do not have a fill yet most things pass thru pretty easy. Why not call and ask your doc. if you are worried. Donna
  11. I did not have to do a pre-op diet and i am so glad. I think it would be hard to stay on track without the band. Donna
  12. Weight charts say i should weigh 135 but i think i look good at 150 so that is my goal, maybe a touch less. Some people can carry more than others, so it is an individual thing really. Donna
  13. If it keeps up i would say call your doc. Good luck Donna
  14. Everyone would have to bring their own pb bag. Really fun to watch. Donna
  15. Hi! I am also single and live alone. I went to Mexico for the surgery alone and recovered at home alone. I really had no problems. I took off for three weeks after surgery and i am glad i did. Gave me time to get used to my band and heal. I weighed 237 at the time of surgery and have lost 38 pounds so far. It does not look like i am going to need any PS. No sagging skin yet and i don`t have any strecth marks so i am hoping for the best. Good luck and welcome to the site. Donna
  16. Everything everyone else said. I think the surgery for the band is much safer also. Donna
  17. Congrats on your band. Wish you a quick recovery. Donna
  18. I cook ahead of time like Jacqui. I freeze or just put it in the fridge. I usually cook for about three or four days at a time. I really don`t do fast foods. Too many calories and too much fat. I carry healthy snacks with me to work also, like the 100 cal bags of popcorn or sf pudding cups. Donna
