Congrats!!! I just the telephone call from my surgeon saying my surgery has been approved too! Mine is scheduled for August 8th.

Hang in there. It gets better! I wasn't able to sleep on my side for weeks. I'm impressed that you were even able to try do soon after surgery. I'm now 7 weeks out, and feeling pretty darn good!

3 days after my weight loss surgery I was basically off all my insulin for type #2 diabetes !!
It has been 15 months since I have taken anything for my diabetes.
I have been overweight all my life too. And diabetes was killing me inside and out !! Good Luck to you !

When I had an endoscopy before my gallbladder surgery I also was doped up. When I woke up, I said "im so glad you woke me up because I was dreaming I was having a bad day at work!" They all laughed because I work at the same hospital!

I am awake and getting ready to start the first day of the rest of my life! I am so many emotions right now, but the main one is ready. Thank you all so much for your prayers and well wishes! See you on the other side

I'm now post op!! In the hospital and in some pain. Although it hurts a lot, I expected worse. Staff is great, I'm progressing with my walking and should go home tomorrow.

Nurse told my hubby that I would be in there 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

Good news to those of you feeling exhausted! I had my surgery in June on the 19th and felt the same way! But between week 4-5 It's like I woke up and had all my energy back! I was starting to get worried that I would feel that way forever. It was crazy! I would take a shower and try to blow dry my hair and think okay..now I need a nap! Lol. It gets better I promise!

Hello everyone! I am new here. I am a 36 year old female, living in upstate NY with my wonderful husband and two teenage daughters. I began my journey in early January 2012 and I am scheduled to have RNY August 15th. I have BCBS Excellus and will have all mandatory appointments completed August 2nd and then off for final approval. I am a little nervous but it sounds like as long as I have followed guidelines and completed necessary appointments I should be approved. I look forward to meeting many of you on this site. Sitting here waiting for check-in at the hospital. They called early this morning and asked me to come asap. I was scheduled at noon. No clue what time I'll actually go in! Feeling the nerves!

After months of appointments, classes and struggling to lose the required weight, it's finally here. I go in at 1:00 tomorrow and have surgery at 3:00pm.
I'm anxious, excited, and hopeful. I hope my hospital stay is minimal. I hope my recovery is uneventful and quick!! I hope I don't suffer from the dreaded "gas pain" in my chest and shoulders.
I'm excited to begin a healthy chapter in my life and enjoy physical activities like I did as a teenager : )
Tomorrow everything changes....hopefully for the better : )

My day has arrive finally is today my surgery day

no liquid diet for me either...they only told me nothing to eat or drink after midnight day of surgery..

I'm envious of you guys that didn't have to do this. Its all drink and pee. I'd rob an old lady for a cheeseburger right now lol

I survived my first year in this new life. It's been new, scary, exciting, and emotional as I go through all of these challenges. It hasn't been easy but oh man... Has it been worth it!!!
I started my journey at my highest 389lbs and the day of my surgery I was 359lbs today I weighed in at 230lbs... Doing the math I lost 129 in 1 year. But 159lbs total. I am so grateful for the support all my new opportunities.
Still truckin for my bday challenge/goal to weigh in at 200lbs.

I finally got my approval. It was supposed to have been submitted to my insurance on the 10th but she didn't submit it till the 17th and I called today and was told it was approved. Now all I have to do is wait for Jennifer the surgery scheduler to set the surgery. Finally I feel I can breath now!!
