Yes, it is for post ops... I don't know. I work at Magee. I will look on our online database and find out if registration is needed or if you just "show up" and let you know!

I am NOT looking forward to the saggy skin either. I just hope that I will look decent enough to feel comfortable in clothing! I definitely don't think that this surgery will boost my confidence about my body, but I am not doing it for looks. This is for my health, my life, ME, not the visual pleasure of anyone else

I grew up with 4 brothers. When my mom started to feel unappreciated by my dad and us boys she would go on strike. It absolutely sucked. Dad was in charge of everything and he would assign it all out among all off us. We would do whatever it took to get mom off strike and then try to keep her from doing it again.

The feeling goes away eventually. To determine the reason for vomiting is like a checklist now. Is it too hot? Cold? Too much carbs? Sugar? Fat? Did I chew good enough? Did I eat too fast? Too much? And some days our pouches can be drama queens and kings and just refuse to keep certain things down even though previously it was ok. But have faith that the yucky "just not feeling right" feeling after you eat goes away.

I've found myself at luncheons serving normal (to them) plate of what I can eat and talking.... Bite.... Talk.... Fork down..... They finish first and we all get up together. When I'm throwing away all the food minus what I ate I say I ate a big Breakfast, you didn't see me snacking before the luncheon?!, or my new fav it just wasn't good food, I'm saving my appetite for my dinner date or I have another meeting after this!
I've become quit the fibber!!! I don't think the entire world should know even though I've told a lot of people. After my white lies people don't ask. Works for me! Good luck!

Hi! I'm only 6 weeks out, but all I can say is believe in yourself. You have come this far and you don't want to go back to where you were. You have to keep trying. Forgive yourself for today but you have to start again taking care of yourself. Chew slowly, remember what it was like in the beginning, make sure you are drinking your Water and eating your Protein. Take a walk when you want to eat extra. Or drink a glass of water and if you still feel hungry, eat a little bit more but make wise decisions. You can do this! Learn to forgive yourself, we will all slip up but the key is getting back to it. Always choose Proteins first, then veggies then the carbs. Portion Control always, and slow down. You got this!

I'm 3 months post op and mine started to shed about 4 weeks ago. My hair is about 1/2 as thick now. I take all my Vitamins, eat 75 to 100 grams of Protein a day and drink about 75 ounces. My hair seems to be slowing down.
I think my Hair loss is the last thing I should worry about tho. Remember that this is only temporary. I'm actually having fun wearing my clip in weave to get back the fullness and add a little length to the back.
If you can't achieve it.. weave it!

Absolutely nothing to worry about. You won't feel a thing. It's perfectly understandable to be frightened by the idea of a tube going down your throat. Just like it's perfectly understandable to be frightened by the idea of surgery. But it's also perfectly understandable that you won't feel a thing. Lol. You're gonna love the new you!!

Remember we gained weight over time, loosing it will take time also, but the future is great and a healthier one. We have the rest of our lives to enjoy the journey.

WLS is just a tool! After you have the surgery you are not hungry and you sure can't eat very much at all. You have 1year to practice good eating habits and lose a ton of weight. Ultimately it is up to you. I had surgery on April 3rd and as of today I have lost 60 pounds. I have 38 more to go. Being thin and losing weight feels better than over eating to me.

Ok, so I know that upon undergoing any wls one must "change his lifestyle toward eating healthy". I just don't understand how that happens when we have gone thru our lives unable to "change our lifestyle" in order to lose weight and keep it off....how does having bypass really help in the LONG RUN with that?? I don't want to go thru surgery just to gain my weight back...

Hmmm I haven't been able but to get just a few in at a time so hasn't been bothering the tummy. I almost wish it would tho if it would break the Constipation train.
sugar free cool whip goes very fine with it. (Blueberries not constipation)

Fairyluver75 got a reaction from MissTiff in how did u decide Gastric bypass rather than the sleeve
The way I decided on the RNY was because my dr had mentioned that with the sleeve you would eventually have to have another surgery. The band to me was strange because you have this foreign thing in your body and it creeped me out especially since you could feel it. My friend has it and when she got pregnant I could see the port pushing against her tummy as she got bigger. I decided the RNY was the best option due to the amount of years in existence and I don't want to have another surgery, already went through that situation, don't want to do it again. Hope that helps!
