I miss food!

I'm having a bit of a meltdown. I didn't realize how hard it would be not to eat for a few weeks. I could cry for even a bite of food. I'm sick of sipping fluids. I feel like I'm floating! I still have weeks until I can have any food and it seems like a million years away. :( all I want is a bite of anything!

It is so normal to mourn food. I got so mad at my family for being able to eat normally... until I had a stern chat with myself that I did this to me... they did not do this. Hang in there. I will pass, it is just the normal progression of how things go. Try chewing ice chips, sleep, read.. anything to get your mind off of it. There is no magic cure to make the feelings go away just have to find another way to channel it.

Sadly I am the same way I wish I could eat cooking for my family is so hard :-( I am making some food now I won't say what only so I do t make u feel my sadness but hang in there think of why u did this in the first place u can do a few more days xoxo

I am 6.5 weeks out and miss it sometimes too.

Hope it gets better!

The pre-op diet and the liquid diet after surgery are VERY hard. I started to gag at the thought of more liquids. Stay strong and keep your eyes on the prize. It will be so worth it very soon. You will do great, hang in there.

We all have or are there with you. Just remind yourself that it isn't forever, yes your food will definitely change but you will get to eat again. I cried for days! I'm 3 weeks out and it is hard but we have to remind ourselves we did this for our health. You can do it!

I'm right there with you. Today I'm so depressed. I just want to chew on something!!! Praying at my post op on Tuesday they let me go to soft foods. I'm so over broth, water and tea.

Thanks for your comments, guys. I'm still battling the head hunger, but you all are right.. It's only temporary and my health will be so much better for it. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger, right? I go in to have my jp drain pulled tomorrow. I am going to ask if I can have even one protein shake/day just to get some energy back. I can't stomach broth anymore and all sugar free stuff to me is just tasting like nutria sweet now. I used to love sweetnlow, but now anything other than plain water or water with lemon tastes disgusting to me..

Ok. I finally made something REALLY good.

1 package SF French vanilla Carnation Instant Breakfast

1/2 scoop unflavored Syntrax whey Protein

6 oz light vanilla soy milk

2 oz fresh brewed chai tea

Sprinkle or cinnamon

15g protein total and tastes like an iced chai latte from Starbucks!!!!

Kristlynngirl that sounds so good!! I'll have to try it! Thanks!

I am with you on this today! I want something to eat!!!!

I just need to stay off of the food blogs. Eggface, bariatric foodie and power hungry are making my mouth water. Oh and shall we not forget chocolate covered Katie. Ugh!!!

I came to visit with my parents and they are makin pizza. Dying. May have to go walk around Target while they eat!!!

i'm at the same stage you are, it really sucks. even if I think of food my mouth waters lol. I've been taking bites of food and spitting it out. sounds gross but it has helped me make it this long (im almost 4 weeks post op and have been on the liquid diet for almost 6 weeks. i'm going crazy. my boyfriend keeps eating yummy food in front of me and saying "mmm" and today he teased me with a sloppy joe sandwich. I wasn't even interested in the sandwich, its not what I want. but the fact that he kept saying "mm" and waived in front of my face really pissed me off...and I wanna choke him every time he says hes hungry! go 6 weeks without food and then fn complain to me about being hungry! lol.ugh. Ive been having so many cravings that are just driving me crazy. im not even craving junk so that's good. im not even interested in it. all my cravings have been healthy. like...im dying for a tuna fish sandwich.( whole wheat toast, lowfat mayo, spinach, and chopped up celery and pickles) or the same thing but with chicken.

I'm with all of you guys today! I'm 8 days out and feel like I'm starving! My husband has duty tonight so we got the kids a pizza for dinner.....so depressing.....now they're eating popcorn!!! Ugh!!!! Lets all says some prayers for each other today! Lol

I get sooo annoyed when people eat popcorn around me because it smells so good. I loveeee popcorn. ugh! I will say prayers for all of us,we need them.lol.this is sooo difficult!
