1. My Dr said to kiss soda and alcohol good bye forever. He won't support it. Even after the first year. LOL
2. OMG... Call your Dr again! Hopefully he can get you back on feeling better
3. Following Dr's orders has worked wonders. She ups your calories every 4 months.
4. My Dr said to keep it at 600 calories. Now that I burn 1000 calories a day she up'd it to 800.
5. Thanks... Awesome info here!
6. You can actually get the same results with bengay and plastic wrap. This technique is old school.. my mom use to pay top dollars to have her entire body wrapped.
7. I'm 3 months post op and mine started to shed about 4 weeks ago. My hair is about 1/2 as thick now. I take all my Vitamins, eat 75 to 100 grams of Protein a day and drink about 75 ounces. My hair seems to be slowing down. I think my hair loss is the last thing I should worry about tho. Remember that this is only temporary. I'm actually having fun wearing my clip in weave to get back the fullness and add a little length to the back. If you can't achieve it.. weave it!
8. I make Protein muffins. 1c oatmeal 1 banana 4 egg whites Protein serving Cinnimon sprinkle Splenda 1/2 Baking powder to help hide. It makes 6 muffins and mine are 10g of protein each (depends on your Protein Powder.) Mine is 26 g per serving. Plus protein in egg whites.
9. Thanks... You're probably right.
10. Soooo... My weight has started moving again, but honestly I'm not ready for it. A year ago I was 259 lbs and now probably by Monday I'll be entering into the 160's. I can not believe I'm saying this but I'm just losing completely too fast. I mean... I'm successfully tone'n while I go and my arms aren't flab'n in the wind... but my mind is not quite ready for the 160's. Ok and what's REALLY scary is that I'm ONLY 3 months post op. WTH... The Dr said the WLS helps with a for sure 12 months then your weight loss will stop. BUT.. good golly! How small will I be in 9 more months. I still wanna be thicker than a snicker but right now I'm heading towards looking like Pooky the Crack Head! Sorry... It's one of those days.
11. So lately I've been waking up with puffy/Tired eyes. I've been doing everything required. 70-90 grams of Protein 70-80 ounces of Water All my Vitamins Help!
12. Hang in there... Remember we didn't do this to look like Americas Next Top Models... This was to be healthier. I had a major belly and I'm trying to target it right now with Tae Bo Advanced and calistetics. I've seen a MAJOR decrease in my abdominal area. Just stick to it.
13. Oh no no no... Ive been under the knife to lose this weight and soda was "part" of the reason I got in this situation.
14. I had mine 4/21/13 and have lost 48 lbs since. I've lost a total of 83.5 lbs since the very beginning tho. I think it depends the weight you started out at. Discharged from the hospital I was 221. For those that were 300+ they'll lose much faster. I may not go down in lbs fast but my size is decreasing quick. I'm wearing a size 10 and a medium shirt now.
15. OMG.... So since this surgery I've went from a size 44DD to a 35C and I think I've Joe moved into a 34B. Yikes! I've breast feed 4 kids that are now 21, 11, 9 and almost 2 on July... I just recently stopped nursing my youngest in January which was 2 months before surgery. Today ... My breast were swimming in my bra cup and I refused to leave the house "empty handed" LOL. I rolled up 2 face towels and stuffed each side with on. LOL. My 9 year old almost peed her pants laughing and told me thats what kids her age do. LOL Well if you cant best-um ... Join-um!
16. I got my period the day I was discharged. It was really heavy and for 2-3 days. It only comes once ever month but like you said... Dang, where is all this blood coming from?
17. Size 1? .... Oh Em Gee what did you start out at? When was your surgery?
18. I know ... Right! Well I can work with 30 lbs. LOL
19. What works for one person may not work for another... I didn't have to blend my food cause I chewed well. You should follow the rules and if you can cut the roles just be wise about it.
20. I agree... Increase you're Water, Protein and water. Also make sure you're eating enough carbs. You may also need to increase your B12 and B50... You may need to start fettichini B12 shots. Also... Fatigue does go hand and hand with the Post RNY life. Sometimes you just become fatigue and there is nothing you can do about it. If you're doing what is required .. it shall pass. It happens because your pouch doesn't take in all the mutton it needs. You might even be anemic right now too. Go to your Dr and get your blood work done again.
21. Yeah how did it go? My hats off to you appealing it. Most people just lay down and take their denial.
22. I have directTV and can stream YouTube on my front room flat screen. I do Tae Bo Advance, Zumba, Hip Hop workouts and 30 day shred. Regardless of my without I make sure I get 60 mins of walking in first. I also have arm weights so I do various arm workouts during the 1st half of my walk. In addition I have a medicine ball and I log on YouTube and do a workout. The medicine ball is great for muscle building. I try and burn 1000+ calories 6 days a week and rest my body 1 day.
