Cramping!
I cramped too for about 2 weeks. Take your pain killers. Remember that you did just have major surgery and your insides have been rerouted. Remember not to lift anything over 10 lbs for the first 6 weeks. Good chance you can pull something apart. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. Not losing weight
Are you totally sure? There could be a good chance that your body is holding on to the lbs because you're in starvation mode. Try on some of your clothes cause I bet your size has decreased. It took me 3 months post op to stop letting that darn scale drive me cRaZy! ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. how do you deal with emotions without food?
After you have surgery and you try and eat out of emotions you'll most likely you'll eat the wrong thing and dump. It'll only take one or 2 times before you learn that emotional eating ain't worth it and your desire will go away. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. Protein shakes..
This happened with me when I was using 8 oz of non fat milk to mix with it. It just felt way too heavy on my tummy. I stared cutting it with Water. 4 oz of water and 4 oz of non fat milk and changed my Protein to BlueBonnet...its really smooth and mixes very well. No grit to the taste... But very pricey. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. CW: 165.0 lbs. --- Only 15 lbs to my goal ---

Why no water with meals?
If you need a drink take a few sips because you probably could use the wetness. I do the same thing too. If I grow funny about drinking Water with my meal I'll take a few bits of watermelon after dinner and the wetness from it usually helps quinch my thirst. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. Keep it pushing... Awesome job! Remember you'll stall every 3-4 weeks and it'll last for 1 to 2 weeks then your weight loss will kick back in... Don't get discourage cause your size will still decrease but the scale will tease you. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. I think when you have your surgery your "self drive" will kick in... OR I'll be knocking at your door and dragging you out to walk. The more I exercised the more energy I have. If I take a week off... Buy boy boy can I feel it. Like this past week!!! My fiance had a vacation week and we just lounged. Never again!!! You'll do good! Hey FYI Kaiser has a great support group that I attend. It's open to all pre and post baristric patients. It's every 2nd and 4th Thursday and they even do clothes Trade drives every few months. You should go to ask questions and hear stories. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. CW: 165.0 lbs. --- Only 15 lbs to my goal ---

Cut or Not to Cut My Hair is the Question!
Oh Em Gee... This is all such great advice. What I've done was trimmed it to my bra strap. I cut about 4 inches of. It's still long but not where it was. I'm thinking about dying it jet black and buying so new full clip ons to hold me over. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. - Cloud bread .... Yummy yummy
I think its only like 1 or 2 carbs.... That's really really good. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. CW: 165.0 lbs. --- Only 15 lbs to my goal ---- California
- Cloud bread .... Yummy yummy
If a top and bottom sliver equals 5 grams of Protein (well 4.875)... Once you add a few slices of deli meat and some cheese you an probably hit a good 15-16 grams of protein. Not bad! ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. CW: 165.0 lbs. --- Only 15 lbs to my goal ---- Cloud bread .... Yummy yummy
Ok first batch was a little flat. My second batch I added twice as much cream of tartar (1/2 tsp) and beated the egg white mixture longer until it really looked like a cloud. Came out really good. I made my 2 yr old grilled cheese sandwiches out of it and she killed them. Top and bottom slice is 5 grams of Protein. I'm not really hungry right now so I'm eating mine with a turkey patty for dinner. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. - Monthly cycles
Oh no... Monthly cycles are my sore subject after WLS. I actually got my period the day I was discharged then it disappeared for almost 2 months. When it did come back .... Whew !!! It gave a new meaning to "monthly flow". My period is so so heavy now. My Dr has me taking an extra Iron pill during my cycle. My Dr said the more weight loss you have the more your period will get heavy because when the fat is removed your hormones ate allowed to surface more and until your body learns to balance this new increase of hormones your cycles will hit HARD. ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. - Cut or Not to Cut My Hair is the Question!
So I just hit my 3 month post op point and my hair is thinning out on schedule. I'm a little torn between cutting it or ride'n this out. I've always had this vision to be this slender African American cute girl with long hair. I've been growing it since 2009 so its between my bra and mid waist line. I'm thinking maybe I should ride it out.. increase my Biotin and just hope it'll start slowing down and filling in and keep wearing my clip ins to help make it fuller. But... It may never fill in nice. Or.... I was going to cut it in a sexy A-Line Bob and dye it jet black which will make it look fuller. A new hair cut to go with my new body. What do you guys think? HELP! ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221** 3 mons post op. CW: 165.0 lbs. --- Only 15 lbs to my goal ---- Cloud bread .... Yummy yummy
