  1. Often, after a fill, you feel fairly tight for a few days. but by the time you start back on solids you should be fine. Just chew really well, and eat very slowly. Good luck
  2. Me, too!!! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you Donna D and Green. Busy week! I lost 20 lb. on pre-op diet, and initially lost fairly quickly during the post-op period. I know from reading this site, that I am very, very lucky to have lost fairly quickly since my surgery July 5/07. I have a 10 cc Inamed band and am at optimal fill for now at 2.25 cc. I am soooo glad I did this!!! I am slowing down in my weight loss now- about a lb. every 2 weeks , but it's still going in the right direction. Now I'm just deciding whether to ask Dr Yau to do a revision on my site, also known as the "3rd boob" 'cuz it sticks out so much. Also, the bruising has never gone away completely- not sure why this is. Anyhow (she rambled) I would so much love to get together with you two before the "hectic season" begins. Are either of you going to the TLBC Bash at the Airport?? By the way, it's SNOWING outside as I write this--Yuch.
  3. I've enrolled in a Learn to Run Class at the Running Room, and I've just come in from a run. Feels so good!!! (especially at the end when we get to go to starbucks for a coffee). Anyhow I'll be home for a while although I must go out and get some clothes that fit. Call me, and we'll get something together.
  4. By the way, GREEN, believe it or not, I'm still driving around in my dear old Altima....at least for as long as it is willing to carry me about.
  5. GREEN!!!!! How Ya Doin'??? I wanna get together for coffee soon so you can show off and I can sort of show off, and we can catch up. I'm home for another 15 minutes, then back around 10:00. Call me??!!!:heh::heh:
  6. Way to go Mandi!!
  7. Yeah- I did it!!! Can't believe it, and I guess I should have aimed higher. Boy, does it feel good. So, what IS that thing of having someone notice your weight loss and then craving junk food??????
  8. Susan: When I first came on this site and had a million questions, concerns and fears, you were the first person to respond to me. You calmed me with your wise words and I went into the surgery more excited than afraid. And you've been helpful throughout my post-op . Sorry we haven't yet gotten to meet in person, but I feel I already know you. I am so proud of you for seeing this through. We all fall off the path at times (I know I did today!) but I know we both will get back to healthier, wiser choices. And, thanks Donna. I feel a bit undeserving of praise today, but realistically know my general trend is good. I'm not sure yet about the next luncheon meeting but will try!!!
  9. GayleTX you are doing amazingly well!! Any advice , especially in terms of getting Breakfast down?? I rarely am able to eat solids before 2-3 p.m.
  10. Susan: If you are reading , please write and tell us how you are doing. We're all pulling for you.
  11. Hey, Susan. It is so good to hear from you again. We have all missed your clever and compassionate posts. Give a little of that compassion to yourself-- we go off track for awhile, recognize our folly, and get back on the road. You can and will do this. We are all behind you, and with you on the journey.
  12. loriely: I am so sorry to hear your sad news. No one can possibly understand who hasn't been through it. It is truly the loss of a beloved family member. Our thoughts are with you.
  13. Hey, green, I mean it-- please call- I can't find your number!!!:rolleyes:cry
  14. Mandi, You are amazing-- 130 lbs.-- WOW. Are you spending lots on new clothes? And don't you love it? Green- Hi!!! You poor sore girl. But you will be gorgeous and it will all have been well worth it! Call me, and I'll try to cheer you up!
  15. Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Leslie Lee!! We celebrated yesterday. I cooked a Turkey , stuffing, green Beans with almond slivers, salad, mashed potatos with buttermilk and fried onions, gravy, etc. Sampled a few bites of stuffing beforehand, then when dinnertime finally rolled around, I could only get a mouthful in. My family was amazed. I really can't eat what I used to. I love this band!! My family does too, as they all got huge care packages of food.
  16. I agree. Mine is also flipped but Nancy at TLBC has no problem going in sideways. Only problem is right now it sticks out (kinda like a 3rd breast), but I'll wait until I get to goal before deciding if I will do anything about it.
  17. Where has the time gone!!?! My first time online since our lovely lunch together. It was such fun meeting the people behind the cybernames. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
  18. Doddie, in all your posts to me you have been so helpful and encouraging. To share when you are having a tough time of it yourself is really inspiring. I have no doubt that you have it in you to get to your goals, in weight loss and in all aspects of life.
  19. Yasmina: If you are fairly careful with your intake, then getting back to the gym will make all the difference!
  20. Ginger, congratulations on making the best decision- this is your chance to go for permanent control .Try and walk a bit- it will help the gas pains!
  21. Thanks everyone for your helplful responses, and I hope to see many of you on Sunday!
  22. Hi, and thanks to all who responded. I was done at TLBC and have the 10 cc. Inamed band, which has flipped sideways. I will likely wait until I get close to goal weight to see if my port still sticks out. If it does, I'll ask Dr Yau to fix it. I seem to currently be at my sweet spot at only 2.5 cc. Still doing a bit of PB'ing even with so small a fill. But I'm doing well with wt. loss, and feeling well, generally, so I guess for now no more fills, although I have another one scheduled for Sept. 20. Am now down 56 lbs., and for the first time, I can actually believe I can and will reach my goal. What a great tool this has been! Hope to see some of you at the Sunday gathering!
  23. New questions!! : 1. I found out the reason my port sticks out so much is that it has flipped onto its side. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so did you do anything about it?? 2. Does anyone out there have the Inamed 10 cc. band. If so, can we chat about fills, etc. No one I've talked to has the Inamed, and most seem to have the French Midband. Would love to compare notes.
  24. Hi! Try adding vanilla extract and Splenda, then whipping it up-- tastes just like cheesecake!
  25. Wow, Angel! If I've figured it right, you have lost 113 lbs. in just over six months. That's amazing, and you SHOULD be so proud of yourself. Getting control over the Albatross of overeating, and completely changing your lifestyle is what we are all aiming for. Congratulations- you're there!!:whoo::whoo::whoo:
