  1. Wow...I cant eat a half a potato and I am 6 months out. Aren't the carbs too high?
  2. And I was told its low calcium...I had it bad around a month post op.
  3. I am there too...stuck at 185, went up from 183 two weeks ago, and in a major stall. Coworker (who also had GB) suggested that maybe my honeymoon period is over after only 6 months...so I am getting frustrated.
  4. Actually..he was outside smoking a cigarette, so I was rather catty and reminded him of his heart problem and a co-worker who died of lung cancer last year at this time...I was bad, lol!
  5. On Wednesday, one of my co-workers said, "wow, you lost a TON of weight!!" I said, "well, not quite a ton..." and walked away. It really upset me.
  6. You can eat a whole potato? ESP with chili on it?
  7. At least you have a reminder about what you wouldn't eat...
  8. That's supposed to be silky tofu in cream soups...
  9. Silky tofu I cream soups rocks... And scallops!! Not together however... Lol!
  10. Congrats! I know for me, I never thought I would see that number again...
  11. Losing, You make a good point. However, while we certainly do this only for ourselves, others often helped to put us here. It's not unreasonable to expect those who love us to support us. Healthy eating is one way. Sharing meals is another. Being considerate is a third. I have a good friend that is behind me all the way. Hubby not so much. So...I have less Tolerence AND belief that he really cares about me and my health.
  12. Sadly, I suspect it's prejudice. Obese people are often second class citizens.
  13. Not quite the lack of sympathy...as you have dealt with. Walk away. Don't eat with them again. They are no support to you...
  14. Measure, measure, measure!! We don't want to go backwards...keep that scale and your measuring spoons nearby. I would be eating more calories without them.
  15. Seriously tho, this will give you an opportunity to have a nice thanksgiving with your family. I must admit I chose spring for my surgery specifically to avoid the holidays.
  16. Next time don't shave and then it will happen... Lol!!
  17. I do rice or potatoes, usually a Half or quarter portion once a day. I do a glass or two of skim milk once or twice a day...80 cal an 8ounce cup. I snack once or twice a day with a 100 cal bag of almonds. Low fat/no fat yogurt for breakfast. And the rest is usually protein and two or three portions of fruit and veggies.
  18. Sleep is tough in the hospital-
  19. THe last few days I have bit eating just over 1000 calories a day, and have been shocked at my hunger and portion sizes. I have been able to eat a craft 2 gumbo from qdoba- a few months ago only a few bites, and this being rice, beans, steak, etc. I started with a half portion, and ended up eating the whole small bowl... I am 6 months out, anyone else in similar situation? I want to snack all day...help!
  20. Not great calorie choice, because it's still high in fat...as a treat later, not a good stock up item post op.
  21. It sits in the stomach and doesnt pass well. Feels like a rock- and will even swell if you add Fluid.
