Almost one year post-op and currently down 165lbs (a mere 55lbs to my goal!!!!)
  2. I bought a dress when I was at my heaviest (399) it is a $200 black tulip skirt/collared number and it was on final clearance for $49! I just HAD to have it knowing it was going to fit someday and becoming a huge motivator for this process, well...I tried it on today And not only did it FIT but it looked soooo cute! As soon as I hit my first goal (300) I will debut it to the world!!!!! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  3. I have been struggling with this, although it is more often than not simply my body rejecting the food (beef and can salmon are OUT) but I did take a large bite of purée carrots and it wasn't too good either Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  4. I have found sugar free chocolate covered peanuts (usually 4-6 is my limit) and Jello makes a sf chocolate mousse that is quite satisfying! Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  5. It is SO hard at this stage, I am almost 4weeks post and am just now starting to introduce solids and feel better, maybe try a thick soup (pea soup, clam chowder ect) will give you new flavors and a consistency that is a little more appetizing Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  6. Yes, my doctor prescribed me docusate (stool softener) Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  7. How far post op are you? You can always try, but dumping is tough and can lead to further complications ? Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  8. as we are all tempted by sweets and whatnot but know better and scour the aisles for sugar free items PLEASE be aware of the dangers of malitol/sorbitol, sugar alcohols...which incidentally are neither sugar nor alcohol, but in fact a type of carb that is (in my opinion) EVIIIIIL they pretty much just rot in your gut causing at least a "laxative effect" and more extreme can cause bloating, cramping, diarrhea and horrible ookey pain. -this all stems from a lactose/sugar free ice cream i found containing, you guessed it, malitol which after two tablespoons cause me the most excruciating four hours of my life. so beware folks, it might be confused as dumping but anything containing more that (...40g i think) of malitol/sorbitol WILL cause baaaaad things... talk to your doctors/dietions ect!!
  9. It's like a smaller version of a calzone ;P Gotta love our wacky Canadian ways! Should we tell them about beaver tails and Poutine? Lolz Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  10. Having a horribly difficult time getting protien hakes down (chocolate, strawberry-can't deal with the taste anymore) does anyone know if protien bars are okay? There is one that has only 2g sugar and 21g of protien but havn't seen ANY suggestions that thu are okay...anyone got any info for me? Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  11. If you are talking frozen pizza pop I would avoid that like the plague! It just seems SI full of fat/freeze/sodium/doughy badness it xouldn't possibly be good for you (aka may very well dump...violently) I have been craving pizza like a junkie so I got some lean ham, pineapple, tomatoes and reduced fat mozzarella for a tortilla wrap, gonna roll it up and grill it panini style for what I like to call a "pizza pipe" cut that bad boy in half and enjoy for lunch and again dinner! 12. I DID IT!! I ate out today! My hubby and I went to mucho burrito, where with the help of my restaurant card (pictured below) I was able to order a tiny kid's meal chicken and bean burrito (no rice, spices or anything extra) I ate two bites and was fully satisfied! Sat well and had choc milk after! So happy! Cost less than $5 and the burrito makes 4 me-size meals!! YAY! Big photo on left is for the ER doctors to remind them what they be careful of and shows a diagram of what was done, top right photo says the surgeon's name and surgery date, bottom right asks restaurants to let me order from the kids menu Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk

  15. Cauliflower rice! I make mine with curry spinach and a hint of ginger!! http://www.delightedmomma.com/2012/03/cauliflower-rice.html?m=1 Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  16. I did the same thing today! Ordered a grilled chicken salad, I ate two or three prices of chicken and spent the rest of the lunch with my head in the toilet, same happened when I tried a bite of sheppard's pie (the beef) and oddly after a single bite of salmon (canned) suiucks! Some of friends have started to ask if I am bulimic!?!? Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
  17. Not only does the protien and increased veggie intake cause you pass more gas (A LOT more gass) but also makes it malodorous, also the fact that much of the digestive process is bypassed, all that fat and whatnot causes A LOT more foul odor...no one mentioned that in the edu classes either Sent from my iPod touch using RNYTalk
