  1. Nice job ladies! You are all my inspiration!!
  2. Hello all! Glad to hear we are all progressing. Today I can switch to full liquids. Scared of milk (Stephanie I'm glad you posted that and good luck at work). May try some lactose free protein today. The one I have is very thin. Glad all of you are losing!!! I'm a week from RNY but only three from my stricture surgery so I still look like a Macy's day float lol! I don't really have head hunger but I watched my hubby make turkey sandwiches yesterday like my dogs do! :-)
  3. Sodas are no nos after bypass because of the gas and stretching your pouch. Popcorn would be really rough. Being a week post op I'm cringing lol. I would think eventually a puff kind in small amounts maybe ok. Also I found these great popcorn Special K chips. I'm about six months from them now but I will use them as a substitute if I need too.
  4. powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup is a must. It's clear and pretty good. So is their strawberry blast and unflavored. Unflavored is good for any regular food you strain like soup. Popsicles are a life line!! I have g2 low cal for electrolytes. Cream of wheat (can be made very thin for liquid stage). It's nice for a change. Decaf tea. Right now I'm having lemon zinger. I bought little Pyrex "shot glasses" they are 1.44 at Walmart and are great for portion control since your pouch is wacked. Small tupperware for all the leftovers. :-).
  5. I think mine had a form I had to sign form him to be able to make decisions while I was incapacitated.
  6. Peachee: well said! Thoughts and prayers for your quick recovery!!
  7. No but it's not bad idea esp if you have small children. Peace of mind..
  8. Mine was the worst I've had in years and started two days after surgery. I was about a week early. It was pretty bad. Ugh. I can see me having another one.
  9. Amanda, it maybe the raspberries. The seeds can be very irritating and you are not that far out. Are you ok now? I'd do liquids for a day to settle your pouch and call the dr if you are still sick. ((((Hugs)))))
  10. Thanks guys!! I appreciate it. I just rem my dr telling my husband after surgery that I had 'perfect anatomy'. I thought wow and you just wrecked it. Yes I did this for health and a better life with my hubby but I also did this for my mental state and some looks. :-). We are all worth looking better and feeling better about ourselves.
  11. Also, some people needs a few carbs in their diet it seems to help. :-). Hope you feel better.
  12. Are you taking Pepcid? I have to take one twice a day per my Dr. I'd call your dr.
  13. Dumping is a "side effect" of RNY. Since you have a smaller stomach and less intestine for the food to process through, sweets and fats can cause dumping. Dumping is when the food moves to fast in the system causing hot flashes, vomiting and diarrhea . Really horrible! Not all patients have dumping but it is awful when it happens. Some folks are ok with SF FF ice milk or frozen yogurt. There are even Greek high protein ones now. But the days of the DQ blizzard are gone. Hard for me but it was something I was willing to give up for all the other benefits. They did me no good in the past. Good luck.
  14. Wonderful!!! So glad to hear you had a great BDay! See you "got" this! lol :-).
  15. It's so weird now. I'm not so much irritated by them eating as missing the activity. As we were coming home from the hospital last night I kept thinking hubby and I should go to iHOP. We both had long stressful days. WTH? I wasn't hungry nor did I want it but that's what we "did" do. This is best for both of us. Except he's living on Chinese food right now (ugh). Lol
  16. Falicia: thank you! So far so good. Slept about seven hours. So that had to help at least mentally. Hope you are recovering well too!
  17. Hey Truth!! Congrats!! It's a very exciting and scary time. Mine was this past Monday so I know how you feel. It is a BIG step and there will be good and bad days but I have personally met so many people in this process that said it was the best thing they have ever done. So let us aim high for a healthy and happy new you!! Good luck!!
  18. PlutoMars: yes take a deep breath! Do clear liquids this really does help. It you have been mainly following the preop diet you should be ok. If not at all, there may or may not be issues. My dr doesn't require one and I was fine with a 43 BMI. Also the beer: technically yes. It's carbonated and that is a big nono for most RNY patients. Too much air in the pouch and alcohol can be processed poorly by us (see UPMC study) . But I know a lot of people that can do alcohol and carbonation a year or two out. It is just not recommend. 1 1/2 weeks off work is really pushing it. Some do two and are fine with no complications. I'm still at three but may need more since I had to have a second surgery for a stricture. Only time will tell. Good luck to you! Let us know what you need. :-).
  19. Sky, mine was Monday was ok and then back in for another surgery on Friday. Seem to be better now. Hope you are too!
  20. Hey guys.. I had a rough week. Two surgeries. The second was for a quickly formed stricture from a staple. Anyway, the pain, vomiting and fear of the second surgery made me do into a deep feeling. I was afraid I was being punished for vanity. Yes I said it. I did this to be healthy but there is the cry of the skinny jean too. Am I alone?
  21. I had my Monday and started to get some gas relief (some not much) Friday but then had another surgery and well more gas. Heating pad does help. Ill have to try the gas x again. Maybe to tomorrow. What a biatch! Lol
  22. Headed home again! I pray second times a charm!!
