I used to be a single mom & was going through nursing school. I put my 2 year old in daycare while I was at school. My ex and I were trying to work things out but he lived out of town so wasn't able to help much with kids. We showed up together early one day to pick her up for a special lunch. We got there & she was in playpen crying & babysitter was yelling at her saying "these Cookies are for my grand babies, you're not my grand baby!" I'm the one who bought & sent the cookies. There were 3 kids @ the table eating these cookies Hannah had helped pick out. Then she's stuck in the playpen while these other kids eat her cookies where she can see them. It broke my heart! She never went back. After I graduated I got a job but worked only when husband could watch kids. Then when our twins were born 2 months premature & spent 2 months in nicu we agreed I would stay home & be their caretaker. Daycare for twins would kill us financially & I would be crippled with anxiety that they would he done like Hannah or worse. It's been such a blessing even if it is hard work. With all the appointments I have and sports, I'm not home a lot. I wouldn't change a thing though. New Life Started 07/24/12

I switched from a regular Multivitamin to prenatal and my hair looks amazing. My hair is my vain pride, I wasn't about to play with it. Long, gorgeous red, thick, and ringlet curls. I love my hair! A lot of people think you can only take a prenatal before you have a baby. But if you aren't expecting, all the extra nutrients are absorbed into your hair, skin, and nails. If you read the label its a multivitamin with a few added supplements. I went this route instead of with Biotin because it eliminates the extra med a day. Also if you take your Vitamins at bed time they absorb better. New Life Started 07/24/12

Kool aid I do ok. Also if I drink through a straw. I asked Dr. He said straw was ok. It's so hard to quench my thirst, Idk why. I drink like I'm a fish (no alcohol lol). New Life Started 07/24/12

I'm trying any different kind of Protein supplement I can get my hands on. I'm not too terribly worried. My hair, skin, and nails are still healthy (the bodies last priority) so I'm not malnourished. Mami, when I joined this group, you were the first poster to catch my attention. Your sense of humor has cracked me up multiple times and your realness. I've seen you post in several threads. I am right there in the boat with you. I'm a "stay at home" mom. What does that mean? To other people it means I'm a lazy freeloader. They're ignorant. It's a stupid label. I earn my husband's paycheck just as much as he does. While he is.at work I'm there with our 5 kids (2 disabled), doing homework, going to appointments, making sure everyone is clean, well fed, happy, healthy mentally and physically. I love my family with all that I am and I am thankful for a husband who works.as hard as he does but raising a family is hard work. Especially in today's day and age. Daycare is expensive and unreliable. Why bust your ass to spend your entire check to pay someone to ignore your child all day when you could be the.one to raise them? If I have learned anything in my life its that no one can make you happy and you will never be able to be happy with anyone until you are happy with yourself. My problem is not constipation, I am fairly regular. It's that I get so miserable if I don't have a bm every other day because I will vomit. I don't get it. I'm not taking in enough to warrant the discomfort and nausea. Wtheck. Stools aren't hard either. New Life Started 07/24/12

1st, dumb question, what does dl mean? 2nd, in answer to original topic, I did great immediately after surgery. I was drinking fluids like a pro. I could even eat solids. Now 2 months later, I can't hold Water down, most foods I do ok with as long as I chew but I can take less now than I could immediately post op. I think it has something to do with the brains pain receptors. New Life Started 07/24/12

Lol, same here. Nurses do make the worst patients. I so wish I could walk in & say give me a bolus of D5.5 w/ LR & be done with it. Such as it is, I'm not going in till, like you said, I can't move. I'm a rusty nurse but still a nurse. New Life Started 07/24/12

Kloveburd, that's where I'm @ also! I'm 28, I've been called fat since I was 14. I have had so many people tear me down & tell me I'm taking the "easy" way out. (i swear, the people who say that need slapped!) I have wasted the past 10 years trying in gyms and on ball teams to get thin. I decided to have the surgery now while my kids are still young and they can remember me as the fun playful mom not the mom who can't get up because her hip hurts too bad (cracked my pelvis when I was 16) Way to go for your decision and best of luck also!
