  1. I've been so focused on all the things I'm giving up and (no surprise) found myself a bit depressed. I made myself make.a list of all the things I will gain. Here are my top 10, what are yours? 1. Going to an amusement park and.actually being able to ride a ride. 2. Playing with my kids. 3. Being able to go on float trips without flipping the canoe everytime I move. 4. Joining a softball team again and other athletic activities. 5. Getting rid of all those meds with ugly side effects. 6. Not having to shop at *special* stores and.pay extra for my size clothes. 7. Not being afraid to have my picture made. 8. Sitting in a normal sizes chair without getting my butt stuck (or risk not fitting at all) 9. Feeling sexier and more confident. 10. Last but DEFINITELY not least....not being in pain 24/7 Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using RNYTalk
  2. I would call and bypass the front desk people. Talk to your nurse, or even try to get in touch with your surgeon. If all else fails you might want to contact a patient advocate lawyer and see what they say. The squeakiest wheel gets the oil. Make yourself a pain in their butts. Literally call every day until you get an answer. Once they start to get annoyed they will start asking questions and make.it happen. Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using RNYTalk

  8. I know after my mom had her bypass (mine is Tuesday) we went to lunch together (spouses included) she was probably 5 weeks p.o.. Anyway, we all went to lunch together & my dad immediately started griping about having to pay full price for someone who eats less than an infant. Idk if they're stressed about money or if its just they feel akward eating normally around us now. When guys blow up, it usually has absolutely nothing to do with what they're ranting about. In the case above, my dad later apologized to her and admitted it had nothing to do with cost, it was that he is insecure because she's lost all this weight and now he feels insecure that she will want to leave him and that he feels fat and ugly. 9. My surgery is Tuesday. I am scared to death. I have been psyched until today. Now for some reason I'm bordering on panic. Any words of wisdom from those who have gone before? Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using RNYTalk
  10. Tricare did the same thing to me. I ended up having to go to my pcp every month for 6 months. Pcp did a weight check, took a food diary, exercise log, list of symptoms etc.. & prescribed phentermine. All tricare wants is proof of failed weight loss attempts. So, I didn't take phentermine. I've taken it before and lost 30 lbs. Which I immediately gained back. The 6 month delay was a pain but as soon as they got that documentation they approved it immediately.
