I wouldn't depend on avocados as a significant source of protein. They have only a few grams per avocado. By the time you ingest enough to get some protein, you will have taken in MANY calories in fat. Granted, it is a GOOD fat, but still....there are so many other ways to get protein.

Thanks, I was mainly asking because I LOVE them and wanted one really bad but I wasn't sure if it was worth it or not.

you certainly won't eat a whole one. I love them too.. I say go for it..

Just to clarify: I was in no way discouraging anyone from eating avocados. I love them & eat 2 slices a couple of times a week. The mono-unsaturated fat is a fabulous thing! I was just stating that they are not a good source of protein. Sorry for the confusion!

Lol...avocados became my "go to" food. Careful...cause it's puréed consistency, and you can eat a fair quantity. One? You can if you are a few months out and you aren't careful...guacamole and chips... Be very very careful with portion control. Speaking as one with experience...lol!!

I love a few slices of avacado smushed on top of a veggie burger! No bun of course. Mmmm
