Idk if you can buy it in stores but it is made by bell plantation and you can buy it online. If you look it up, check the nutrition info, it will amaze you! Oh yeah, you can mix it with milk or water and just use it as regular pb.- Plx Help, Tricare Requesting More Documentation
Yay! Good luck!!- Vegetarians
Im not a vegetarian but there are definitely ways to get enough protein... You will have to supplement after surgery. There are endless options with protein shakes, powders, juices and bars. And of course you will just have to make sure when you do eat, that it is protein rich.- One Month Since Surgery!
Wow that is impressive!- Fiber
When was your surgery? Are you allowed to have regular foods yet?- Okay, I Need Answers. Very Blunt
I just talked to my doc about this today. It's normal. It's normal to also have several a day and for it to be very loose. No worries!- /sigh I Hate Ignorant People
I also lost a very close friend because of this and had no support from a few family members bc I had complications from a csection that landed me in the hosptial for 6 weeks. They thought it would happen again. You did the right think by walking away. People like that are too closed minded to think about WLS from another perspective than their own. You can try to explain it until you are blue in the face but she won't hear you. The bottom line is that you are entitled to do what you want with your body and others do not need to approve of that (except for the insurance company lol). Sorry you had a sucky day but hopefully tomorrow is much better! And btw, how many more days do you have left?- Peanut Butter
i've always loved a spoonful stirred into my oatmeal or yogurt. maybe in chocolate pudding too! have you ever tried pb2? it's like peanut powder...they take out the oil which has the cals and fat. It's great to mix into almost anything! pb sounds so good right now!- 100+ To Loose
I'm also looking to lose over 100 lbs. I know it will be a long journey, but life is so much longer than the time it will take to lose the weight. Surgery was last week and have already started mall walking but ready to start more exercise!- What Keeps You Going?
I agree. It's not worth stopping if you want it that bad. And there are a bunch of sites online that will help you write an appeal letter. It's totally worth it!- Feeling Isolated Starting The Preop Diet...
When you have those moments it is best to take a step back and realize that you are still able and should sit at the table with everyone and spend quality time with them. You will be able to have regular foods again in moderation. It's not easy but gets easier!- Just Found This App.
Welcome! This is such a great forum. You can really feel free to be yourself here!- Drinking?
I'm sure there are virgin sf recipes out there!- Drinking?
My dr and nutritionist recommend to wait one year. I know some of my friends after bypass can't even handle a full drink or shot a year or two after surgery. Also there are lots of hidden sugars in drinks.- Weak Bones
Definitely get a bone density test. It's called a dexa scan. You have plenty of risk factors for insurance to pay for it. Make sure it is a full one that measures your spine and hips - not the one that only do the heel they are worthless. You will be able to find out if you have osteoporosis or osteopenia which is like borderline osteoporosis. Oh and in the meantime stay away from caffeine and make sure that when you take calcium take Vitamin d with it. Hope you feel better soon.- Sipping & Chewing!
Baby spoons are so worth it! I found some with a longer handle so it's not awkward feeling. I tried sippy cups and just didn't like them. Tried medicine cups and didn't like them. I just use a glass. And the others are right. You will remember not to gulp each time bc you won't want to! The first time I was so afraid of throwing up ( just sounds soo painful to do that post op)!- Nurses Unite!
Sorry to hear that he was a butthead but lol that she told you all that! I know this is crazy but I remembered her telling me that I would live to be old so it helped my anxiety about facing this surgery bc I went into sepsis and coded after my first c section. So I was really scared about more surery. She tol me some really surprising things. I know they seem like a waste if money and I've only done it once but would love to do it again! Let me know if you ever want to do a group session.- Nurses Unite!
I would love a job like that. I initially intended to be a midwife but I just can't afford more school. I kinda hate my current job bc it's not using my skills or challenging enough but I work 8:30-5 mon-fri which is what I need as a single mom. But I've been keeping my eyes open!- I Hit Onederland!
Congrats! Don't forget how proud you are. That will keep you from seeing 200 again! Way to go!- I Hit Onederland!
Having a foreign object in me scares me. But it's whatever makes you comfortable. Also make sure your ins pays for band adjustment which is done many times. I've heard most don't.- Anyone Doing Medifast?
Just wondering if anyone is doing medifast or has tried it? I did it for four months and it worked well. Their packets would probably be about 2 meals. They are low carb and high protein. I didn't do the numbers but instead of doing 5 packets per day, two would probably be plenty. I could go for their brownies and chili right about now!- Plx Help, Tricare Requesting More Documentation
Agreed. My doc just had to document how many diets I did and how much i lost with each. I included things like taking phentermine or slim fast. Like medifast etc. you could just get a copy of receipts or something like an account summary from curves an ww.- Nurses Unite!
Lol a psychic told me I would work there o_O- Pureed Foods
I'm allowed on day 21. - Peanut Butter
