Well after my LP this morning it is confirmed... My PTC is in remission !!! No more meds! My opening pressure was 14 and my Neuro said that was in normal range!!! I am soo happy!!! I just hope it stays that way! He's gonna keep a watch on me though to make sure it stays in normal range once I stop all the meds!

Leftover olive garden chicken and risotto. I love that my husband and I can split everything and I still get two meals out of that. We also make healthier choices in general. Although I'm the one who had surgery, we have both benefited from the healthy changes.

Hey J, things seem to finally be looking up ! The headaches have become a lot less frequent going from every day down to maybe 2 days a week... My eyes don't hurt much anymore either! Had an appt with my Neuro and he said from looking at my eyes he could see my pulse which meant my csf pressure was normal!!! He put me on an daily pill to keep Migraines at bay but thinks the ptc is going into remission from the weight loss!

Prior to surgery I had headaches and the other symptoms constantly. I don't need any meds now. I noticed a difference in the first couple months. I'm hoping it's a success for you!

Hi everyone I saw the post made from some of you on my where abouts. I am still here. Just been going to school and concentrating on home stuff so I can get ready for my boards. Sorry I haven't been on much. Appreciate the comments. Yes I changed my name from OldHippieGal because I just don't feel like that old woman anymore. Have a slight bounce in my step now. Lol for dinner I had fat free refried Beans and a flour tortillia with shredded weight watchers cheese.
    Y'all have been doing amazing.

Mine said he prefers 6 months, but at least 3..,,my 40th birthday was 6 weeks post op and yo baby, I did have a drink....a very very slow drink, that still buzzed me big time. Okay, now yell at me if you must. But in all honesty I'd do it again given the circumstances.

I know!! Lane Bryant and their tired-ass clothes! I'm so sick of going there and being disappointed because their style is not on point. Then spending in upwards of $150 for a complete outfit makes me feel like i'm being swindled. Capitalism at it finest.

I read almost every dsy that someone thinks they are failing. That word is full of such defeat. This surgery allows us the chance to retrain our brains and make new habits, but no matter what you do, you will lose for the first year. I would just like to say that even if your diet isnt perfect, and you dont stick to your amount of Water and Protein you think you have to do, you can still be a success. Those guidelines do not work for all. For example. I have never drank more than 30 oz of water in a day since surgery, let alone 100 oz. I get waterlogged and sick if I push it. I have never eaten over 40 to 50 grams of protein in a day. I usualky get around 30, yet my labs for hydration and protein are perfect. I take Calcium carbonate instead of citrate and calcium is great. I.do exercise, but.did not start until my 4 th month post op due to.disability. I eat fruit everyday. It does not make me dump although a lot of things do. My point is, we are all.different and although guidelines are set, it does not mean we fail if we are not precise within those ideals. I started out at 225 & 5 months later weigh 158. I wear size 6 & smalls. Its great to follow the rules, but if you have to adjust things for you, it doesnt mean you are a failure. Give yourself a pat on the back. Tjis surgery isnt easy!

I'm so glad all of you have followed the diet to the letter without putting ONE bite of something in your mouth that isn't on the " approved list". Stop being judgmental! Trust me, you'll try something at some point just to see what if anything happens. I would rather eat a few bites of something once in a while than to go on a binge.

I'm confused. You eat no starch or carbs? My Dr has strict orders that I must eat a starch at every meal. Said starch is what gives us energy.
Not saying my way is correct, but its correct for me... it is saying that diet plans are different with every Dr. Be positive! We are all here to support each other.
I am able to eat popcorn. However, I need to be careful with huls.

I completely understand that your suppose to change your diet for life, however i think its a balancing act. chocolate, Cookies, junk food and all around "bad" food will be around forever... We all have to learn to have our recommended amount of Protein, drink our Water, exercise and within moderation ( only on special occasions) have a "bad" snack, i personally think its unrealistic to forever give up "bad" food. I think if i do that one day ill snap and just go back o my terrible old ways.... We are all just human....this is just my personal opinion ... If you do not agree i understand, just don't attack my personal way of thinking.....

My wife was on board from the git go and has been my rock. She watches out that I'm getting enough of the healthy stuff and not slip and cheat. She is always looking for good health stuff for me to eat she makes me walk when I'm tired. And the love life has never been this good. I'm not afraid she will leave me and she knows I'm not going anywhere. She is My Love My life My Soul
I feel bad for those that have spouses that are that stuck up on them selfs or are just afraid for the future. Do they think that WLS will change the way we love them (NO) what changes is their attitude towards our weight loss. It's like they want us fat and unhealthy to make them feel better about them selfs.

I am not sure how to detail this but looking back I remember how difficult it was to get down on to the floor and tons worse to get back up again, without rolling on to my knees and struggling to get up. My knees would be hurting, my back would be killing me and I hated it and it was embarassing. OK that said here is my NSV~
Last Thursday I was running a group at my work. A patient had a seizure and I had to run over and help hold him into place on his chair so he would not fall on to the floor and hurt himself. Then we had to lower him to the floor and I sat on the ground next to him to reassure him and to check on him while help arrived. I had to hop up undo the straps on the gurney and then grab the backboard, get back down on to the ground, help load him on the backboard and help lift him on to the gurney itself and Strap him him down on the gurney for safety and then he was taken away.
When it was all over I realized I was hopping and kneeling and lifting and all of this and I never gave it a second thought!! I never hurt, I never struggled to get up or down or lift him or anything. I was a bit sore the next day, but just in my lower back but dang that was it and it was just a twinge if I paid attention to it. I NEVER could have done all that before surgery. It was amazing to realize I could do that and be fine. I never gave any of this a second thought until later in the day, but then it hit me and I am shocked and so excited over something so small.. How far and how fast things have changed for me.. I love this new me! I am strong and powerful and capable, what beats that?

I choke down at least one Protein Shake a day... It is something I have resigned myself to do to get that 35 grams of Protein in fast and start my day. I hate it!!! But I hated being really fat too!! Trade offs we all have to make the choices that are right for us. I choose not to go back to eating the "white" aka carbs that made me the tub of lard I was. I choose to follow the drs rules and finally win the fight against fat. Yes, It is all a personal choice. Hopefully we make the right ones. I for one paid too much for this surgery and no not just monetarally to screw up now.

One of my goals is to tell Lane Bryant to close my account. I am still paying off the clothes I bought before I made the decision to have surgery, before April, and I only have $250 left. Well apparently they are sweating me not spending in over 6 months that I am being bombed with emails, text messages, mail and now a fancy new credit card. LOL cannot wait to make the call to close the account because I can no longer fit their clothes :-)
Sorry, I just needed to tell someone.
