I have noticed a huge difference. No problems at all anymore! I also think it had a lot to do with the fact that I lived on caffeine before. It's made life so much better.

    I'm now 179.
The most awesome part is I now weigh less than my man!!!!! I don't think I've been able to say that in 20 years.
I'll be 12 weeks post op on Monday and all together I've lost 55 pounds.

I have to disagree with you. Throwing up is not normal. If you are throwing up you need to call the Dr.

The preop liquid diet is tough. I had headaches and was exhausted. You can get through it though! Just think of the prize at the end! I lost 15 pounds in my two week liquid preop and it was very motivating... Take pride in your willpower!

I started to feel that after a couple of weeks. I could literally take a drink of something and count to 30 and feel it hit my pouch. It was weird for sure. I don't really notice it anymore though.
My fiance told me to stop trying to explain how I was "reconfigured" because all he could think of was that movie "Human centipede" and it freaked him out. LOL

I am going to tell you a story and talk about embarrasing....
Maybe two or three years ago I was suffering from excruciating back spasms. It was the weekend of course, those things always happen when you can't get to your own Doctor. I went to a walk in clinic that I found on my health insurance website.
After waiting and paying my demanded copay, I was weighed, had blood pressure taken etc...I saw the dr. The place was very busy and just had curtains around the examination rooms, like a hospital.
The doctor came in and did the usual, pressed on my back, see if I could bend down, stuff like that. he said he would order xrays but we had to wait for the xray technician to be called in because it was the weekend. So we waited and waited. As we waited he proceded to tell me that my back problems were because of my weight. he told me I was 97 pounds over weight. I think I was about 220 at the time. He left.
He came back and told me I should eat smaller portions, lower my fat intake and cut my carbs. Apparently he thought i was stupid as well as fat and I didn't know what or how I was supposed to eat. He left.
    He came back again.
I remember word for word what he said to me.
He said, "You know you're big right? I mean you're REALLY big"...I was about 220, Had this man never seen a fat woman in his life before????
The part that really hurt was not what this D-bag dr was saying to me. I could hear the people in the exam rooms on either side of me laughing. They were laughing at ME and they hadn't even seen me.
I will remember that day for the rest of my life.
I finally found a primary care physician that doesn't brush off every problem I have on my weight. She actually tries to help me.
I guess my point is this, when you go to see your bariatric surgeon, you are welcomed and accepted there. At least that was my experience. The staff at my office are encouraging and treat you like you should be treated and not like a second class citizen. It is your safe haven. Its not a place to break down, its a place to feel like you're finally empowered. You are taking a huge step in improving your health and your life. You should be jumping up and down for joy!
I hope the rest of your appointments go smoothly for you and you have a wonderful experience with your surgery. It's worth every stressfull moment of preop! :) :)

Oh, and I was 215 the day of surgery, after losing 19 pounds preop. I'm now 189 7 weeks out. I'm losing slowly. The doctors seem to think I'm doing great though. Whatever, all I know is I feel so much better now!

    1. Having my shoulder strap on my purse actually stay on my shoulder.
    2. Being able to pull my jeans up and down without unbuttoning or unzipping.
    3. Crossing my legs like a lady instead of a lumberjack.
    4. Officially having only 1 backroll instead of 2.
    5. No more boobie bulge and almost bursting button on my blouses. Try saying that 5 times fast...
    6. Having to wear a belt with my uniform pants and having several coworkers tell me I need to get new uniforms because mine were just "too big"
Some times it's just the little things that make life seem so much brighter.

We were all incredibly nervous. That's totally normal. Your life will definitely change and it will be challenging at first. I will be 9 weeks post-op tomorrow and every day is still a learning experience. I will never regret having my surgery. It was the best decision I ever made.

This isn't about sweets but it is about food mourning.
Last night my fiancé and I went to Lucille's BBQ. It's one of his favorite places and if you haven't been there, it's phenomenal! He had been pouting all week since I had to work on fathers day and we didn't get a chance to go out.
I was very good and just had a couple small slices of tri-tip (no sauce) and a few bites of mashed potatoes. But that's not the story I want to tell.....
The place was packed. As I looked around, I realized that nearly every table had at least one person sitting at it that was obviously morbidly obese and they were literally gorging themselves.
I had so many mixed emotions.
At first I felt bad that I could not eat like they were. The food is so delicious and lets face it, you go to a place like that to eat till you're about to burst.
I also felt bad for them. I wanted to go to every single table and tell them they didn't have to live like that and there was help for them.
Lastly, and what I am so absolutely ashamed of, I was actually sickened by what they were doing to themselves. After all, just two months ago I was one of those morbidly obese people shoveling huge quantities if food in my belly.
I have never and WILL NEVER be one of those people that will judge someone on their appearance or weight, however, I just couldn't stop myself from feeling disgusted.
I suppose it made me realize just how lucky I am that I had the courage and the means to have this surgery. It made me realize that feeling healthy is so much more fulfilling than eating a huge delicious meal.
I'm looking forward to losing more weight and feeling better every day. It's a wonderful feeling to wake up every day and feel even a tiny bit thinner than the day before. I used to wake up because I was in pain. Literally, I didn't even need an alarm clock! Now I wake up laying flat on my back (something I could never do before) and I have to feel my tummy to make sure it really is smaller and it hadn't all been a wonderful dream.
Instead of missing youre birthday cake, Celebrate yourself! You are a beautiful woman and now you will be healthy and beautiful too!
There is nothing worth celebrating more than being healthy.
