  1. Wow, 8 days? How's that liquid diet coming along? Is your Surgeon with the LePort group? His name sounds familiar. I had my surgery with one of their surgeons but I had mine at Chapman in Orange.
  2. Good luck! Where will you be having your surgery?
  3. This gave me goosebumps and a lump in my throat when I read this. Thank you so much for sharing!
  4. My surgeon told me not to be surprised if I woke up in ICU, that they do that sometimes just to monitor you closely. I woke up in my room though. No ICU for me.
  5. Believe it or not, so soon After surgery your stomach may not be healed enough to know when it's full. At this point you have to seriously measure everything you eat. You'll be ok. Just be careful next time. Hey, at least you got some protein in you!
  6. I hope everything went smoothly for you!
  7. I just have to ask this...why, oh why are we not having some kind of get together when so many of us are in Southern California? Something informal would be so cool. A day at the park for a group RNY picnic or something? It would be so awesome to meet everyone, don't ya think? As for me I'm just barely in the Inland Empire in Pomona and I work in Orange county. If any one is interested, send me a message. Wouldn't it be great to have a group picture with all of us together?
  8. Amazing! You look gorgeous. I had surgery a week before you and I've lost 77 pounds so far. I need to know your secret!
  9. You look beautiful in both pictures but yes, you do look so much smaller now! You look really great and........your dress got longer!
  10. I've never had this issue but I was wondering, do you take supplements? You really have to be careful with iron supplements. Too much can be dangerous.
  11. I love a few slices of avacado smushed on top of a veggie burger! No bun of course. Mmmm
  12. We buy the Kirkland brand beef jerky from Costco. It's really tasty and pretty tender.
  13. Sounds like you're doing amazing to me!
  14. I've only lost one pound this week. My weight today is 159 from my highest weight of 234. I'm not complaining. I'm happy with the weight I've lost but PMS is a bitch and I stall same time every month!! Grrrrrrrr!
  15. They will usually give you a blood thinner just before surgery. Maybe it was a reaction to that?
  16. My advice would be don't drink. You don't really know how the alcohol will affect you. I had my first glass of wine at home and found out that I get drunk off of two glasses. And I mean drunk, not tipsey, drunk! I used to be able to drink much more. Also you don't want to end up getting sick. Just a little advice, it's your decision of course.
  17. I was suggesting PRObiotics not antibiotics
  18. Two weeks is too long. Have you called your dr? If not you should.
  19. Caltrate is calcium carbonate. I was told the best calcium for us is calcium citrate. Calcium carbonate is the same thing in tums. It's not easily absorbed by RNY patients. Citrical is the most popular brand of calcium citrate but so far I haven't found it in chewable form. For now I'm taking the bariatric advantage calcuum citrate chewable lozenges. It's like chewing a big chunk of chalk. Blech!!!!
  20. Ouch. I hope they can clear it up quickly for you.
  21. Is that the bacteria that caused ulcers? I never had a preop endoscopy not was I tested for this but I was just curious.
