  1. Yep...going in search of a post op Maddie post...hope all went well!
  2. stacy I know how you feel. It just boggles the mind how we can so greatly reduce the amount we eat and also WHAT we eat and not lose more weight! It just makes no sense to me. I know that I'm losing inches (or that I've lost inches...I'm only measuring once a month) even if the scale is barely moving. I'm following all the rules although I've not really been able to exercise because of my back. I'd like to be able to swim laps everyday and do some Water aerobics but it's been storming here every single day and the weather just isn't cooperating. Not to mention I still don't have a very high energy level. By the time I get home from work in the evening, I'm just flat out tired. I'm not discouraged and I don't mean to sound whiny...I get that we all lose at different rates and at different paces. I'm just going to keep following the rules as best I can and see what happens!
  3. You're still doing great my sleeve buddy. Scale doesn't seem to be moving much over here...sigh.
  4. well damn...lol I just took my last pill from my prescription. I'm going to get an OTC kind tomorrow.
  5. Yay for Ian! Tell him to join this site so he can post too! Tell him we all wish him the best!
  6. Christie...I think it takes time too.....I went through a few days of panic thinking I was going to be miserable and hungry for the rest of my life. It passed quickly and I don't have that problem anymore. I have no idea if it will come back and I will get hungry again, but I'm not going to worry about it. The good thing though is that it takes so little to fill up. Are you waiting a good hour or so to drink after you've eaten...especially after stuff like refried beans?
  7. Congrats! It will be here before you know it!
  8. Well hi there Rose...welcome to the boards. We're neighbors. I live in Mandeville. I had surgery 2 days after you on the 28th. You're doing great with your loss. I'm only at 22 lbs since surgery. I hope you stick around...there are several of us who had surgery around the same time. We're all in this together!
  9. I felt hunger a little bit around that point when I was drinking mostly Protein shakes and creamed Soups. I don't feel it anymore...unless I go for a long time without eating something. In fact, I'm finding it harder to get in the necessary calories and fluids now that I'm on more solid type foods. Are you drinking all your fluids? I find if I keep sipping on my crystal light throughout the day that cuts down on the hunger too..or I drink the 100 calorie muscle milk light RTD drinks. That cuts down on the hunger for me too. All I can say is hang in there...it does get better.
  10. well steve you should be sleeved by now...I hope everything went well.... Best of luck to you for a smooth and speedy recovery!
  11. I hope this doesn't prevent you from having your surgery! Good luck!! Have you called your surgeon's office?
  12. At my 1 week post op appt. the PA asked me if I was having any problems with acid...at the time I wasn't..hell I wasn't having anything at that point but Protein and fluids and I was taking the PPI. She told me to stop taking them. I've not taken them real regularly..maybe every other day...every 3rd day or something like that when I start the feel it burning in my stomach. However; I have two pills left and I don't want to get it refilled as for some reason it was ridiculously expensive AND it was generic (protonix). So I think I'm going to get the OTC prilosec or something. Are there any differences between the OTC brands that I should know about? Is one better than another?
  13. This is going to sound harsh...but honey, this is YOUR problem, not his. He may be a total jerk and may not be the one for you...but he's not holding you down and making you eat things. He may not get it..may not care...whatever. It doesn't matter. This is YOUR body, your problem, and your CHOICE as to what you put in your mouth and when. You making poor choices about what to eat, you deciding to go on a trip your body wasn't ready for has not one damned thing to do with him and it's not his fault. Those are your problems. Every one of your posts has a common theme..you're blaming him to justify different things. You need to work through these things. I hope you can figure out how to do that before you sabotage yourself.
  14. Great picture! You're doing awesome. Love reading posts from those further out.
  15. Wow...that's awesome! It seems so slow going that I wonder if I'll ever get there! Did you ever feel like that in the beginning?
  16. That is fabulous! I'm 5 weeks out and I've only lost 22 lbs since surgery plus the 24 I lost before surgery. I did do measurements last night and I've lost 24.25 inches since the night before surgery. Pretty weird.
  17. Well I talked to my surgeon's office today and she told me they want me to stay on the chewables for at least 3 months. U G H.
  18. Awesome loss so far! Congratulations and glad things are going well for you! When is your hubby having his surgery?
  19. moving right along huh? Sounds like you're doing great! Congrats!
  20. WOW! I wish they had something like that here! Even though I"m not much of a cook, I still think that would be fun!
  21. I'm glad you called! Thanks for the update too. I was just worried because my nut made a pretty big deal about not eating the skin off of fruit for a good long while. I'm glad your doc says that's not a problem for you!
  22. I can swallow pills just fine....I really want to know if I can go back to the swallow kind. I think I'm going to call my surgeon's office and ask them or wait until my next appt. in a few weeks. I didn't even take them the last two nights because I was already not feeling good because of the pain I'm in due to my back. UGH.
  23. Wow...that's AWESOME!! That's a lot of weight in a short amount of time!
  24. Way to go! Congrats!
