Me too. I must admit I am quite fond of my new stomach even though ...and because...it's a nag.

Finally got my surgery date!!! December 9th is the big day. I am very excited!!! Seems real at last, as we thought I would be sleeved in October.......then November . I am soooooooo happy to join the December sleevers!!

Tomorrow starts a week of clears for me also !! I am very excited, makes it seem real finally. But I have to admit I'm also a little nervous now too.
But I know .... WE CAN DO THIS!! Here is to the start of healthier, happier lives!!

In the more detail than you probably want department, I have started taking Colace twice/day. I'd like to keep my intestines moving, ya know! I was having trouble with Constipation even before my surgery, since I started a high Protein diet. Unpleasant, and I want to get a solution to staying with normal activities in the intestines.
Was able to get all of my Protein in today (I think I even exceeded at about 87 gm) but short of Water. Most of the protein was in drinks and Soup, so will keep on sipping tonite.
Walked about 30 mins tonite and it felt quite good. I was pooping out a bit on the last leg, but made it home and am glad I did it.

Okay all y'all that are on liquid diets. Remember how bad you feel the first 3-4 days. Remember it well. Because when you want to cheat? Just remember that going back to all liquids after cheating? Will feel that bad again.
That was what was sooo motivating for me! I did NOT want to have to go through that "detox" and feel again like I did the first few days.
The good news is, I think of it like labor. No matter how painful it is, they're going to take that baby from you in 24 hours one way or another right? There's a definite end and you just have to make it to the end. It's not forever.
No matter how much it sucks? The worst of the liquid diet is over in 3-4 days. You will have lots of energy after that, and you will feel good about yourself.
So hang tight, and hang strong!

I ran into the same problem... My PCP said he shouldn't have to send a letter until it was time for my pre-op testing. i called his office first every week, then every couple of days, then daily and finally the insurance coordinator from my surgeons office called and he finally wrote and faxed the letter.
Insurance approval came through days later and my surgery is scheduled for Dec. 4th. I'm so excited!!!!

I just got approved my surgery date is Dec. 11. I can't wait I feel great!

My surgery is scheduled for 12/2! I'm new to the forum. My name is Krysta and I'm 27 years old. I have battled with my weight for most of my life and I am currently at my heaviest I've ever been (5'6, 258lbs). I met with my surgeon yesterday and he is pretty amazing. He has operated on my stepdad and brother...they both have the sleeve. I originally wanted the lap band but my brother convinced me that the sleeve would be the best option for me, and after doing much research I believe that it will be as well. Good luck to everyone! December 9th!!!! I had the option to go in October but life and schedule didn't allow. But I'm just glad to have it scheduled and start the new year with a new me!!!! I'm 38 5'5 and currently 270. I start my two week liquid on Nov 25th, so no turkey and yams for this chick! I'm ok with it though...I decided to host an early Thanksgiving and have already told my family I will be a no show on turkey day. I comb through this web site every day and can't believe I'm finally starting this journey.
I have always had weight issues and have wanted wls forever but never had insurance that would cover it. Now I work for a local hospital and it's covered and I had a relatively painless process into all this. I got luck and was able to use most of my pre-testing from a recent gallbladder removal to satisfy my surgeon and ins. All I have left is the the labs the day before Thanksgiving and then the big day on Monday Dec 9th....oh yeah and I'm getting married October 26th!!!! New Year, new partner and new life! WATCH OUT 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I felt the same way. I got the call saying i was approved. The skinny girl inside me started screaming. Oh did i tell you i was approved in 2 days. (In my Wendy Williams whisper). Lol

You will find many passionate opinions that vary greatly on this subject. They will run the gamet from "shout it from the rooftops" to "My body. My business." to witty retorts and outright deceit.
All feel they are right or justified in their way of handling this life changing event and may even attack when challenged. I am of the mindset of silence or honesty, no lies.
Basing it solely on your post stating you feel shame and embarrassed. That you don't want to be judged or abandoned I would suggest you search your heart and soul. I believe honesty is empowering. I do not like the idea of hiding because you fear other's responses. You are giving them power over you. They do not deserve it.
I've been very open about my choice. I've experienced some negativity. It stung. But I worked at remembering that they are the one with the problem. Not me. It is my body. My health. My choice. And I am not ashamed.

I have found that post op, I am more me than ever before. I never knew how much my size, my weight, my food addiction and my obsession with diet was masking who I really am. Just like the weight, it all slowly crept up on me muting the real me very slowly but in a very real way.
Now I wake up every morning ready to be out in the world, thrilled to pick a pretty outfit instead of whatever will mask whichever body part I'm obsessing over, not fixated on where I might eat (or avoid if I am doing WWs, Atkins, fat free, etc.), not worried if my hair isn't perfect because God knows I needed something to detract from the size of my ass, wanting to be SEEN by people instead of hoping I didn't run into someone I haven't seen in months...I could go on for ages.
I liked the fat me for who I was on the inside. I was always confident and happy. Now, though, I am thrilled with ME and the excitement I have as I evolve into a new, healthier being is just overflowing into obnoxious giddiness. Every minute of the day....

I am eagerly awaiting the reappearance of a multitude of bones!!!

Only twelve more days till my last visit with the NUT and REsubmission to Cigna!!!! I did not have enough time with the NUT prior to submitting my paperwork in October . I am so excited, the surgery schedule is pretty open for November so if I get a quick turn around with Cigna (only took 3 days to deny the first attempt) I will be sleeved in November !!! Happy Dance!!! I can't think of better way to avoid the holiday bulge!!! :)

4 weeks post sleeve. Lost 34lbs. Gained 2 shin bones. I'm pretty stoked.

I stepped on the scale this morning and in the 23 days since I started my two week preop diet, I'm down 45 pounds. 23 pounds in the last 9 days since my surgery. I'm in awe.

So I am 12 days post op and feeling pretty good. This morning I had my first small victory. I passed my most recent lowest weight. My weight has gone up and down a lot over the years with different diet failures, but in the past few years the lowest I had ever gotten was 233 while doing a physician weight loss with phentermine last year. This morning I weighed in at 231.8! It's just one of those things that lets me know this is really happening. I have been feeling like I will never lose the weight I want to lose because I have failed so many times. I am now feeling like maybe I can really do this. Gonna rock this sleeve!
BTW- My stats are- Highest weight-270, Starting weight- 250.2, Surgery day weight- 242.9, Current weight-231.8

I'm a 48 year old single mom of two girls, 16yrs and 12yrs.
The hospital stay was a but of a vacation lol.
I decided I was going to turn 50yrs at 150lbs not 250lbs. So here I go.
