I attended a seminar first. My first appointment was about 4 hours. I had to fill out paperwork, take a psychological test, meet with psychologist, meet with nutritionist, meet with nurse, then the doctor. The doctor went over what tests he required. I did not have any blood work done on this day...that came later. The insurance coordinator went over the requirements that I had to meet for Aetna.

I was sleeved on Feb. 6. I lost quickly the first week, then have slowed along with a few no loss weeks. I have put my scale away per my doctor's suggestion. I've lost 24 lbs. I'll take it even though it seems slower than most. Please get help with your depression. Hope you feel better soon.

My nutritionist documented what exercise I was doing at each of my appointments with her. (I was doing Water aerobics). The insurance coordinator told me all that Aetna was looking for was "documentation" that I was exercising. I was concerned that wasn't enough but it was. I was approved in 3 days. I have Aetna and my policy is worded the same as yours.

The label is a little misleading on the Syntrax Nectars. 1 full scoop is 23 grams but the serving size is listed as 1/4 scoop.

My doctor said if I hadn't gone 4 days after surgery, to take Miralax. I now add benefiber to whatever I'm drinking.

I'm only 7 weeks out but it has been a great experience so far!! I've had no problems at all. Spend some time reading on this site. You will learn so much.

My mom is very supportive as well. Most of the people who have not been...have no clue about weight loss surgery. Best of luck to your daughter!!
