  1. Thanks all! I went to urgent care this morning and they moved ahead with the fluids. Though I wasn't as bad off as I felt, they didn't want me to get worse. Always trust your gut I guess!
  2. I've struggled with getting enough fluids and protein since my surgery on 3/19. The dehydration has gotten bad and now I'm sick to top it off. I can only take sips at a time because it hurts to swallow, my lips and tongue feel stuck together, my urine is dark yellow and not often. Is it time to break down and get iv fluids? Does it give you a drastic boost? I feel like garbage!
  3. I had some ice cream the other night and I got so sick! I hope the same for you! I feel like old habits die hard but a physical reaction definitely helps!
  4. I understand that if you're not getting enough protein and fluids, you will not lose. Your body freaks out and thinks it needs to store resources so it doesn't shut down. Good luck!!

  6. I'm taking the vitamins for BariActiv. They mail them to my house every month. The multi vitamin, calcium, and iron are all chewables. The vitamin d is a nasal spray that you do in one nostril, once a week. This makes it so much easier!!
  7. I'm in Boca and had a sleeve on 3/19!
  8. I love that I'm losing but my skin (especially my thighs) is particularly sad. It's one of those moments where you think, at least when I was heavier I didn't have wrinkles or loose skin! Anyway, aside from a wet suit, has anyone found a bathing suit that helps with this? I live in South Florida so it's summer all year round and I need help covering up! I would love to flatter what I have and not look like I stole an old lady's suit if at all possible.
  9. Good for you for making this change before you got older. I miss 27!!
  10. Congratulations!! Do you mind me asking your age? You look so young and I'm sure that helped your skin situation. You look incredible, I can't imagine how you must feel!
  11. I'll be 3 weeks on Wednesday and I've been in your shoes. Sometimes I feel like I need to pick a shake or food. In that case food almost always wins but I'm doing better on timing. I still waste a lot of food. I have breakfast around 8, a shake at 10, lunch at 12, shake at 3, and dinner at 6. I can't finish anything but I eat what I can. My diet is a lot different than yours (funny how our drs have such different paths for us) and I know you'll get more comfortable with your intake once you can eat more variety. Good luck!
  12. It's finally gone down. I can wear pants again without being uncomfortable. I'm also starting to notice my bra fitting differently, which is a double edged sword. Even if the scale isn't moving, my body is!

  14. My doctor did not use a drain, which I'm grateful for, BUT my belly is swollen and I wonder if that's why. My surgery was 3/19 and I'm down 15lbs but my stomach is swollen so much that my pants won't button. I'm sure this will resolve itself, my doctor isn't at all concerned, but WHEN?! I'm getting frustrated, I want to wear pants again!
  15. Same here. My guess is our body thinks we are malnourished. It's freaking out and we are having to go slow until things click. Mine is worse in the morning on an empty stomach. I was sleeved 3/19, I'm so surprised some of you that had surgery after me are doing yard work!
  16. I know someone who had to go back in to have their sleeve adjusted (probably what the above posters were mentioning). My surgeon said your body will eventually equalize and maintain a certain weight. Unfortunately you can't tell your body what the magic number is. Good luck!
  17. I divorced my band on 3/19 and was revised to a sleeve. It's funny how different the protocols and diets are between them! I lost 50 with the band before it slipped. They unfilled it completely and I went a little nuts before surgery (and gained). I have lost 15 in the last week but I'm still not down to my lowest that I got to with the band. In really hoping I start to see results soon!! Good luck!
