Man I wish I was a 40 D... Im a 46 or 48 DD at the moment n killer back pain... I cant wait to drop the sizes.. Going to talk to my doc 2 the 23rd see what else my insurance is askin for then a wait for the date ... Cant wait ... Sooooo happy

OMG. A moment of silence for all the back rolls lost this year..... May they rest in peace.

I had a similar issue, unrelated to WLS. I called my insurance company and filed a complaint. Needless to say the doctor and his practice was taken off their network.

ok - that is crazy. If i could lose 100 pounds on my own, I wouldn't have needed the surgery. I agree with talking to the doctor and NUT together to get on the same page and find out exactly what is needed prior to surgery. If that doesn't work, there are other surgeons out there. Mine told me that dieting didn't work before - that's why I was there. So they didnt expect a diet or weight loss. My 3 month supervised "diet" was really implementing the habits I would need to be successful after surgery.

Thats weird...all I had to get was a stress test, echo, and a EKG done. Then she just approved because I never had any prior heart issues. They want that insurance money smh! On a side note my insurance didnt even want to approve the ECHO because they said uh your heart is fine, you never had issues, and they felt it was a waste...but yea the doctor got it approved with a peer to peer. Sorry i ramble lol

You will lose as much as your body can! If you are bigger, you might lose more. If you are a woman, you 'tend' to lose a bit more slowly. If you are inactive, it might be slower. If you are strict with your program, might lose faster.
But in the end, you will lose as fast as YOU, as ONLY YOU can...

Just got my date yesterday. Will be sleeved October 9th at Albany Medical Center in Albany New York by Doctor Singh. Excited, nervous and anxious!!!!!!

Got my approval this morning. Surgery is scheduled for October 7th! :-)

I am being very open about my surgery. I do respect peoples wishes to keep it private.
I have encountered very little negativity so fat but any I do encounter will help motivate me to become healthier!!!
I am doing this for my health, if you are supportive if my choice, thank you. If you are not, thats cool too. I am not doing this for what anyone else thinks of me, but how I feel about myself, my health and my future life.

I think for me the judgement I feel for the most part is internal. Also, I won't wolerate anyone degrading my progress by attributing any successes I have soley to the sleeve. As if I sat around passively waiting to lose weight rather than playing an active roll, along with my sleeve, to weight loss and better health. This is an act of sabbatoge and the second I see it I nip it in the bud.

Most insurance companies have an appeals process. I would call.

When I get out of bed in the morning I look like the evolution picture - I start off hunched over and gradually get upright halfway down the hall. I'm starting to do the fat girl waddle - not cool. what is my motivation ? all of the above that everyone else said and let me add that it would be nice to not automatically decline an invitation out because I hate how I look, I have no nice clothes to wear and I usually feel like "pooh" most of the time. I'm only 54, I'm not ancient so yes, I'd also like to be "hot" again !!

Besides the obvious .. I wanted to do something for ME... I was tired if feeling trapped and just "tired"

Besides the obvious (being overly fluffy), I had diabetes, high cholesterol, my knees and feet bother me. I'm two months post op and I'm off all my meds, my knees and my feet do not bother me near as much. All this has happened with the loss of just 40 lbs! Oh and now, I get to buy cute SMALLER clothes!!

Simple, not being comfortable to take any family pictures with my wife and two boys.
Not comfortable traveling, especially when traveling 50% of the year.
Shopping at the big boy store...and they usually have extremely skinny people working there, asking for bigger sizes which sucks!!
And a Million other reasons...

In a nutshell.
Back hurts. Knees hurt. Arches of feet hurt. Short of breath. Sluggish. Self-conscious. HBP. Miserable. Self-Isolation from family and friends. Depression. History of female cancer(s). History of diabetes and death in my immediate family. Plain old disgusted with my image.

Every fat girl knows the right angle to hold the camera for a good selfy.

A stroke.
