I have friends who have had it 10 years ago and no problems I am almost 2 years post opt and I have had no problems at all I take my Vitamins and exercise everyday and eat healthy. Remember this is a lie style change that you have to be willing to commit to as well as make the necessary changes to be healthy, this surgery alone is not just the answer but the choices you make to exercise , eat healthy and take your Vitamins. LOL I was the same way right after surgery , my husband and I have always had a great sex life but now its even better he is enjoying the benefits and so am I , with the weight lost I was encourage to try new things and everything has been great. I do not know if age has anything to do with it because I am 44 but I think with the weight lost gone your self esteem goes up, I know mine has.

The entire team at Henry Ford is great and I agree with you doctor Dr.carlin and Dr Genaw are the Best.

He he is excellent but I had Dr. Carlin and it has been almost three years ago , the whole entire team is great from Sally all the way through even up until today . You cant ask for better surgeons as well as support group you got this. You are going to feel so good after and your life will again anew they saved my life.

Hi everyone stalls happen I am 14 months post opt and was at a stall and I believe my weight us stable because it was the same for 6 months . I just had Tummy Tuck with muscle repair and I am 7 weeks post opt . Stay focus you all hot this and make sure your getting in your Protein and Water .

LOL it is very common I had my procedure at 43 and turned 44 , 3 days later I do not regret anything except I wish I had it early. I am loving life again and I am off all my medications this was a life saver and I am feeling beautiful everyday. Good luck on your surgery and congrats for making the choice to be healthy.

I never thought that I would have surgury again but once you see, now beautiful your hard work pays off and you have that extra skin hangings your going yo want it off .

Sex is great after wls I craved it my husband is happy and I'm very happy , make sure you use protection lol.

Hello All! I had Gastric Bypass on July 14, 2016. My highest weight was 275. I have lost weight on my own many times but always fail to keep it off. When I started my WLS journey, I weighed in at 258. The day of surgery, I weighed 236 and I currently weight 185. My next post of visit is November 7. At my last post op (September 7), my surgeon told me she expected me to lose another 30 to 40 pounds by November 7th. I have only lost 3!!!!
I am happy with my results so far, but I am concerned that I have started my self destructive ways that always tend to get the best of me. I am able to eat pretty much ANYTHING. NO DUMPING! I have started eating carbs again and I need motivation to stop! I haven't gained, but I know I should be taking advantage of this time. I have also slacked in going to the gym since I went back to work. :-(
Anyone willing to be a support buddy????

Congrats to everyone keep up the great job and try not to spend to much on clothing and shop the thrift store trust me you will be going through many more clothing. i purge my closet and had 17 bags of clothing and only four outfits left now its fill again.

I was in the hospital and released within 2 days no complications and back at work within 2 weeks . Congrats on your choice on being healthy ,

If I'm being honest, I don't care about the numbers. I just want to be healthy and look good naked. Lol

Hello everyone I just had a Tummy Tuck with muscle repair, and belly button removal and Lipo and insurance covered the entire process, you have to check with your insurance company and everyone insurance is different, I have federal insurance which covers just about anything, but you must have documentations from day one and as stated above some insurance ill cover the skin removal only to relieve any hanging, skin, liquid fluids, and rashes etc it also has to hang a certain amount below the mons, you have to be a year post opt of surgury as well as your weight have to be stable for 6 months and documented, showing the different techniques, creams, and exercise you have done to address the issue . Good luck I am now 5 days post opt from my tummy tuck and doing great.

Hello everyone those who are afraid of gaining wright please remember if you are working out at least 3 times a week and eating with Portion Control you should be fine . You have to burn more than your consuming . I know we are all afraid of regaining weight and just as important as loosing weight . Focus on one day at a time and making good choices you got this .

Fitting into a size 8/10 pants from a size 32 and looking fabouse in a dress .

I can burn 1000 calories on the treadmill in 1 hour when only a year ago I could not even walk 10 minutes on a treadmill . My hubby refers to my clothes as doll clothes . Going from a size 32 pants to a size 12 I am loving life .

Try Biotin toothpaste it keeps your mouth moisten and you teeth clean.

I encourage everyone to shop at thrift stores because your sizes will be changing . I went from a size 32 pants to a size 12 pants now .
