My NUT says for 6-12 months post-op:
850 Calories
90 Carbs g
60+ Protein g

12+ months out:
1300 Calories
150 Carb g

Just shows how different each NUT can be.

Mine is I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash. It has served me well for many decades - never fails to lift my spirits.

I'm curious, how many calories are you Jan 13 sleevers eating a day now? I'm up to between 800 and 900, which seems like TOO much. Is it?
MJM, congrats on a period on your own! Like you said, in God's timing for conception.

Hello Jane. My NUT said around 800 calories right now. I don't think I'm getting that much, but I aim for the 70-80 grams of Protein. Some days I still have to have 2 Protein Shakes to get it all in, and I'm not eating anything but protein at my meals.
I wonder how everyone else is faring!!!????

Here's another option - I sew, so I buy fabric that matches my short sleeved shirts and add to the sleeve length. No one ever notices that the shirts weren't bought that way!

I just wanted to pop in and ask if you can believe this is our 2 month surgiversary?? Yowza! The time has flown by, yet it seems I've been sleeved for a long time. As if this morning, I'm down 49.2 pounds - 30.2 since day of surgery.
I hope you're all doing great!

TooFluffy reacted to BeeLee37 in PLEASE rethink surgery! it's cancer causing, do the reasearch! :(
I am so sorry this happened to you harringm13 I appreciate you posting this to give another possible side effect to the band. Everyone has their own experiences and this is a place of support so I hope you can find it here as well as at home. I hope you can recover, I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm much better now.
Congrats to all the "losers", lol. I weighed in at my first group support meeting this week, and I'm down 43 pounds total, which is 24 pounds since surgery. I'm "this close" to zipping up another size down in jeans. What a great feeling!
My daughter is working full time now, so I'm babysitting more hours. Makes it hard to get in here to post. But I'll pop in when I can.
I hope you're all having a good weekend!

TooFluffy got a reaction from elfnow in Be careful. ..
Women who make comments like that, are usually afraid that you will end up smaller than them. Somehow, they just can't deal with that though, ha ha.

I am blessed. I told folks and received nothing but support. I really never hesitated...
It is truly a personal decision.

I can reach down and touch my toes with absolutely no issue. Strain or soreness. This from a girl who 15 months ago could not even see her knees let alone her feet.....Exercising is already seeing results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that's a NSV.....Yes me!!!!!!!!!

TooFluffy reacted to ASKSARAH - Sleeve in My face is "too thin!"? I'm still over 200 lbs!
Tel them to leave you alone, It probably looks thin due to the fact it was fat before.
Don't send any more photos you do not need the negitivity, you do what you want!

Listen... I am not comparing myself to anyone. I was curious about stats. I don't need a lecture on how not to set myself up for failure and disappointment. Thanks anyway.... this has been enlightening. Blah.

I already know this thanks. I was curious to see what others have lost. I am a reasonably intelligent person... I know that I cannot compare myself to others. Thanks for your feedback.

TooFluffy reacted to 7 Bites_Jen in So what if it's the easy way?
I've been known to tell people that for ME it was, "Working smarter, not harder" for my weight loss, LOL.
-
TooFluffy reacted to gmanbat in So what if it's the easy way?
The phrase, "easy way out" as used implies shame in getting an operation for something which could be accomplished some other more "natural" way.
It implies cowardice, sloth, and weakness of fortitude. It basically runs down the person it's addressed to and relegates them to the island of broken toys.
Especially egregious is this statement directed to those who have already had the operation. The operation has moved into the realm of things that cannot be changed. Any degradation now makes a malicious bigot out of those launching the nonsense.
Humans have intelligence regardless of the behavior of those that spew this crappola. Innate in that intelligence is the tendency to look for that which is both efficient and easier. If it weren't so most of the inventions we enjoy would not exist. Humans weigh out alternatives. We balance risks and possible benefits.
Most of us tried many times to lose the fat the " hard way". Some of us spent much of our lives in mortal combat with it. Obesity was killing me, I could not kill it. I considered it easier to get an operation than die. Diets didn't work, this did. I'm human and did a human thing.
If pompous asses consider that worthy of downcast gazes I will happily jump into the ship to the island of shame in their minds. I do not care to work for their acceptance, it can remain as perceived. I surround myself with those who value me and understand things, I need not make room for mental midgets.
My advice for those who have no choice, ( family, coworkers ), wait it out. Light comes slowly sometimes, give their eyes time to adjust. You take care of you. Show them.
