  1. I was swimming like a fish again 2 days before my month anniversary.
  2. Sending prayers here also. Sometimes it takes a bit.
  3. @@jenlovestim I've seen both sides of the coin. Vets see a lot of the same things over and over because there are a lot of people who don't search, they just want an answer and won't do the work for themselves. They also don't know what your situation might be unless you tell them specifics such as I searched for X here and didn't find it. That's why I made the suggestion that I did. It depends on how far out you are from surgery. Quite honestly I'm not comfortable giving advice to people unless they're a couple of months out from surgery and its something I've seen a lot or have very good reason to be comfortable on the advice. Doctors do slough off the "support" to others, and this is one specialty that they need to stop doing that to. That isn't a knock, but hopefully that will help you better in the forums. I know of a couple of particular groups who have a negative reputation that they legitimately earned and still are earning. (((
  4. I feel for you. My gallbladder gave me crap for months at 11 and 12% function. Best of luck!
  5. @@jenlovestim maybe this might help: http://www.bariatricpal.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums If you go to the search button, next to it is a funky type of circle. Click that. It is the advanced search. If you put in thanksgiving there, you can find > 1000 responses. It doesn't work if you go to the regular search, you have to do the advanced search. Vic
  6. Let us know what the scan says. Good luck!
  7. Same here, when I go out it is for a sandwich or salad.
  8. I can only echo the same as others. I am so very sorry and hope this gets fixed soon.
  9. Keep going for the dairy, cheese and eggs that you can get down. There are Protein powders I do.
  10. My heart aches for you. I had problems after the surgery in other ways. I can so feel for you, your daughter and granddaughter too. Is there anything they can do to help her? Imagery or anything?
  11. I am hoping that this is the last of the problems for you. Gracious. You are a strong person to go through this.
  12. @@Daisydawn34 Could you help me understand your post. I got the first couple of items, after the sleeve date I'm lost. I'm glad you are vegetarian. Even eating less meat helps.
  13. @@talkingmountain I asked the question about why we need extra Protein AFTER we heal from the surgery. Never got an answer. I sort of came to the conclusion Dr. Garth did. Its not the first time I've asked a logic question and got silence.
  14. Hi, Yes you can always message someone. I think where I got my biggest help is from following Dr. Garth Davis, and just looking at anything vegetarian that gives recipes. I also have Indian/Hindu people, where the diet is very very tasty, and they do emphasis on the flavors in the dishes, not salt, fat, sugar. You also want to make the decision as to the type of food you want to eat. There are those who eat only fish, some poultry, some eat eggs and cheese, some don't. You sort of want to figure out what lifestyle you want to go for and then find the recipes. That's what I do. It also depends on whether or not you are willing to try other cuisines. I'll eat anything if I can keep it down. I can eat some spice, it is the salt, sugar, etc. that I don't do well with. I can do a tiny bit at a time, but otherwise, whoops it is going to bite me.
  15. Yes. Have you talked to the surgeon? At this point, that is your better bet to see if something has changed. Either that or they would send you to a GI.
  16. At this stage of the game, 3 weeks out, I would talk with the surgeons' office. This might be more of an issue than you think and allowing them to make the decision this early on is probably for the better. Best of luck.
  17. I'm in Hampton Roads but I'll help if I can.
  18. Speaking as someone who had an issue with a surgeon who would fit the pattern of gaslighting and blacklisting, go for the other surgeon. I would also say, if you are willing, please please let others know of your experience. Not trying to discount others, but things might change depending on your circumstances. Some people did well where I was at (they had no problems, etc.) but one person who did summed it up: they want all the low hanging fruit. In other words, if it is easy and you do well, fine. Otherwise you are on your own and they don't do enough before writing you off. What happened to others, happened to them. What matters most is you getting the experience you need. Things may have changed and I have found out that there are those who have threatened things against people if they talk about their good or bad experiences. Don't be so sure that the people out there are not working for the group themselves. I've had that happen before also.
  19. Ask the doctors' office. At 3 weeks out you need to be checking in with them.
  20. No but if this is not related to the surgery, I would find another surgeon if you can and are able to. Also, I suggest you rate your surgeon everywhere. Without the cons as well as pros, it doesn't help people going forward to get better and the surgeon to lose money on patients they don't get because of their manner.
  21. I was 45, 2 months from turning 46.
  22. Please do. If you would like prayer, please let me know. You can PM me. I'd even be happy to ask on my church prayer chain for you. They don't need full names or anything. They do keep stuff confidential, and I can attest to that. I'm so sorry this happened but at least it sounds like she has a decent doc. There are many who aren't.
  23. There is a product on the market you can try. Its called Cal EZ. I don't know whether or not it would fit your criteria, but it is something you can mix in. You can always have your calcium levels measured to check on whether or not the product works for you.
  24. I have several more that I sent in to be put in my records, but there are multiple references to nutritional issues and neurological issues. Its there, its just the doctors don't look for it and also think that because the "labs" are "ok", then everything is fine. Not everyone is a computer and some people may have higher levels than others. It is for this reason, that doctors do not use the labs together with symptoms/signs, that we have the incredible amount of delayed and missed diagnoses.
