  1. Under http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/991-fitness-exercise/, do you think we could get a specific forum for those who are looking to compete? Running, biking, swimming, weight lifting, whatever. Is that something that is doable?
  2. Same here, but mine is more filled with veggies, fruit, things that are not prepared.
  3. Find out who knows how to deal with complications, difficult patients and ask to talk to people who have stayed with their after care for 3 years or longer. You want to know how they deal with problems. Any one can deal with things when they go well, its the capability to deal with issues that shows who is going to be in your corner, if things go wrong. I learned that lesson well from what happened to me and others.
  4. I'm not as much big on cooking as I am salads. I go to different places with a salad bar so its always a mix up. I can get spinach or dark greens vs. iceberg. Beans of all types. Sometimes lots of fruit.
  5. 5'1 and doing it at 251.
  6. and let us know if they don't.

  8. @@JupiterinVirgo Nothing wrong with appreciating yourself as someone worth the best food intake.
  9. Have to agree. I only read medical journal, stuff from credible sources, sources that aren't crapped. Even then you can get a snooker or two. There are several lists I check that debunk garbage. I do not watch TV, movies, etc. and that is to fill my mind with good things that will help me. Go to your doc or to credible sources. Medical research isn't that hard to read. You can do that and it will help you with any concerns.
  10. I would agree to going back and talking with your surgeon. I don't agree with only reading good stuff. You will get yourself into bigger trouble by only looking at the good stuff and not taking a *BALANCED* look at the problems to learn from them to get something better for your outcome (learn from others) or protecting yourself or knowing what to expect from bumps in the road and how to minimize them as best you can. I am wondering if most of this just isn't the normal "oh my" and that settles down. There are few birds that have problems like I do, but some of mine were already there, the surgery excerabated it. You can't tell before hand but problems are workable or solveable with the right team. That is why the effort is made into picking the RIGHT team, not the one closest, or you "like" the surgeon.
  11. I was in pretty good condition before my surgery. 3 weeks and 1 day later, I did a 10K. It was the slowest done but I got it done. Yeah I did hurt/ache (and maybe a little more) but it was survivable. I was in pretty good condition before my surgery. 3 weeks and 1 day later, I did a 10K. 12. Thanks for the reply... Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App Um the doctor is watching this closely aren't they?
  13. I follow him. Totally envious of you!
  14. You are not broken. Sometimes it takes a bit.
  15. I didnt but I was exercising pretty well before the surgery. I was in good condition, no diabetes or anything, so that helped. I was back in the saddle quickly. Did a 10K 3 weeks and a day after surgery and was swimming at the 1 month review.
  16. Faves or Raves? If I could post some jpegs I'd show you what I mean.
  17. The biggest issue is whether or not the surgeon's office would accept it or not at this point in time.
  18. I am sorry. I was ok at first and things went downhill. Ended up with a PICC line. I survived it! Sometimes it takes a bit for your system to get back up.
  19. salad. Nothing different in terms of food. Just watching my spinach, kale, onions, lettuces, grow and hoping the carrots are starting to sprout.
  20. Its a journey. All my love to everyone on the forum - all sisters and brothers!
  21. I don't have a problem with that. I mean I can understand that and sympathize. Its definitely better than eating too many McDonald French Fries. Yes, the toll road that bypassed Battlefield. The replacement is now a 4 laner that is just as much as issue. LOL. Privately educated here. We, our church, etc. tend to be more homeschooler and the like.
  22. That makes sense. My eyes tracking funny, dizziness, fuzzy stuff, all has to do with low B1 but I have other Vitamins that tank also. How do you manage high D? I envy you. I envy you a lot. No, the oral problems are mine. I have GI track issues, getting down pills can be an adventure or hit and miss sometimes. Its not really funny when its your thyroid medication you've having problems with. That's why its easier to go for shots (or a midline when I get in major trouble). You are lucky. Great Bridge can be a horror to get too. Lots of traffic and they put the toll road in.
  23. I give IM shots every month. B12 & B1. I have oral problems, so would you be looking at something else?
