  1. Did they say what they were using as 'research'. I've read a few things that go opposite what they say. It would be helpful to compare the research and see if we can glean anything from that, to help make a better decision. So much competing research out there. There was recently some articles out about Pepsi and Coke and their sponsorship of sugar research.
  2. I didn't do anything cold turkey. i started 3 weeks+ out doing things that would help me to not have a problem during that week.
  3. Powerade Zero, crystal light, decaf coffee, water.
  4. There have been surgeries and at least a couple studies done on younger people having surgery. Seems the results were quite positive. As the advice given already, check with the insurance, check with as many docs and programs you are able to. They will give you the criteria and help you from there. Best of luck!
  5. Are you referring to Dr. Garth Davis?
  6. I have bananas, some type of fruit, cheese.
  7. How do you expect to keep it off? One of the biggest issues is losing the weight and not being able to keep it off. The tool helps you to do that.
  8. I have always been able to get veggies/fruit in. I do salads most of the days, so I get my 4-5 in. I use beans a lot and those can go for protein and veggies. Great for fiber too! Don't forget your fiber.
  9. Sport Beans. Dates. Love dates. Naners too.
  10. Yes I did. The doc said it was all in my head. Actually it was all in my gallbladder. I suffered for months before he did anything and that was only because he got forced to.
  11. All of the above. Weights, some aerobics, can you bike? You can do a bike in the gym. There are tons of things to do now: pylometrics. Swimming is excellent. It is not only a resistance exercise but you can combine it with weights to help. It works all the muscles especially if you do all the strokes.
  12. Its only a day or two. No problem, its when it goes longer. If Dan Bernandini can do it, you can too!
  13. There is gym/machines free weights. Have you checked any of the classes to see if things can be modified for you? Swimming. Biking?
  14. I am a fan of Dr. Davis also. I eat a lot of Beans and peas. I do eggs too.
  15. Eat mine. Lots of beans & bean types, eggs. Do some cheese. Chicken and turkey but that's it. I'm several years out.
  16. Try googling for couch to 5K runs.
  17. YEAH!!! Way to go! I still remember the last 30K we did for the marathon when I did it. You will keep this treasure forever. Enjoy!! Vic
  18. At this point, yes I would dump them or start getting others to transfer it over to another place.
  19. Is it during their advertised hours? Do they have an email address?
  20. I stuck to the pool. Believe it or not, for the most part, if you are swimming laps, no one is going to care on your size. PS Speedos keep everything in and your skin, should it sag, well they compress. Wear them like a competition swimmer does and it helps.
  21. I had a surgeon like this. I did a 10K 3 weeks and a day after surgery. My slowest one but I did it. What a bunch of stuff ...
  22. At least 1x a week. I know some of the vendors, and I grow a lot of my own or buy plants from them. I do a lot of pick your own also.
  23. Its been that way: sleeve overtook bypass after a couple of years.
  24. No # would be published for Mexico but stats like that would probably come from ASMBS.
