  1. During your first year that is the time to change your routines around and make your life proactive to weight loss and maintaining it for life. It is a tool to help you get the weight off and keep it off. You are the master behind the tool and it will only be as effective as the master wants it to be. I believe you have to purposely do things counterproductive that will cause weight gain. Such as drinking when eating to push the food through your sleeve so you can eat more or eat carbs etc until your full wait a little bit and then eat some more. If you are careful and eat accordingly you should be fine. Again the modifications that you make in your first year are going to make the difference. Hang in there!
  2. Go back to your liquid diet for at least a week but eat a lean piece of meat with some steamed vegetables or a salad with it for dinner. Nothing else. You probably need to to get away from the carbs and how they draw you in to eat more. I think this will help you to end the cravings for those bad boys! When you can't eat the carbs and you have cleared yourself of them then the other foods start looking really good and you switch over. We all have our demons and they come out to taunt all of us at some point or another. The good part is you recognized and admitted to yourself what is happening. You have the strength to do this!! Change up your exercise program and find some new foods this can help a lot. Good luck to you and keep us posted!!!
  3. I would do it all over again! I know I could not have done this without the surgery. My clothes are fitting so much better and I feel better about myself. Get the Gas X you will want it. Make sure you have plenty of protein drinks in stock and get a baby spoon to help remind you to ear small bites and go slowly. Keep us posted!!
  4. You look fantastic and so do your kids!! This gives me encouragement to keep up the fight!
  5. Do you have a snow cone machine? If not, go to your local 7-11 and get a SF Slurpee. This might be a treat for yourself several time a week. You have to look around to find the gas stations that have the SF Slurpee's but they are there. Good luck to you!!
  6. That is my same pain and it is level to my belly button.. I think it might be a pulled muscle but definitely not a hernia. I will call my doctor tomorrow just to double check it. I don't think it is anything but I was hoping someone on here had this and knew what it was. Feel better!
  7. You are honestly scared just like the rest of us before surgery. I questioned myself and my new life a lot before surgery. If you aren't then you didn't take this seriously. Hang in there, I think wls will be good for you and your back. I may have hanging skin when this is done but I will live longer for my family and enjoy a healthy productive life. Someday I can get that skin fixed! It would be nice if your family supported you but that doesn't mean you don't know what is best for you. Every time I tried on my own I would lose and then gain it and some more back. I finally decided this was it and I only regret that I didn't have this option earlier in my life. Your family will come around when they see you losing the weight. Hang in there and keep the faith!!!
  8. You look terrific!!! It's wonderful to see the pics. Thanks for sharing!!!
  9. So I have had a textbook surgery and recovery but yesterday I was getting a pain in my right side and it is still there today. I don't have a gallbladder so it's not that and to high up for appendicitis. It feels like it is in my midsection along the right side by my ribs. So...................has anyone ever had this type pain? It feels kind of like a muscle pain but I haven't done anything to myself.
  10. I loved those things and can't put them in the house!!
  11. Was a size 8 1/2 to 9 now I am a solid 8 and will probably go down another 1/2 size eventually.
  12. Good luck with your surgery!!! Keep us posted!
  13. Fantastic job!!! Keep it up!!
  14. You might try putting a pillow under your stomach if you are laying on your side. This supports your stomach and you don't get the pulling feeling. It was like day 7 for me when I did this and it was pure heaven! Good luck to you!!
  15. I would love it if you did the video!! Trader Joe's is in Gainsville which is 1-2 hours from my house so I have to make it count when I go. I haven't been yet so this would be terrific. I know that www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com does a lot of her recipes etc. from there and I would like to get those products from that store. :) I wish I could go with you! Would you see if they have the individual mini mozzerella balls there. They look awesome for lunches.
  16. I think you could do that.
  17. Cook your BBQ at home and bring your picnic with you. They can eat their deli sandwiches and you eat what you want. If they give you trouble tell them you didn't want the food to go bad so you cooked it. Bring the cake they will eat it............guaranteed!! This will begin to show them you are serious about your diet and it is important to you.
  18. Yes, I too do the same thing! I believe it has something to do with the vagus nerve. I will sneeze, burp or get a runny nose. Never the same thing twice!
  19. You can get good prices in Mexico and a lot of people have great things to say about it. I didn't have a passport and found Dr. Shillingford in Boca Raton, Florida who did mine for $10,500. All inclusive..........it covers everything!!
  20. Go and have fun!! Don't be to shocked when you see the prices!!
  21. I absolutely love Whole Foods and drive 45 minutes to get to it. You can get a lot of the products there in most grocery stores. But I still go there because they have a lot of products that I love to get there. Mainly meat, seafood, spices, some dairy because you can get organic usually in the grocery store. But they have an extensive list of them. They have fantastic soups there as well!
  22. I agree with both comments above. It is high in calories so you have to make sure it is in your quota for the day.
  23. My doctor told me to do liquids for a few days and then move to puree. If I tolerate that then I was to move to mushy foods right after that. I was told to eat only 1 new food at a time though. I have had absolutely no trouble with this. My bougie was a size 36 if yours was smaller that may be why he is so conservative. So you should listen to your doctor. Good luck to you!!
