  1. I completely agree! I drink 2 a day just as Crystal3052 does. They can also be bought at costco but I think Sam's is the best price. I am on week 7 and they are the only ones I tolerate. I prefer the chocolate over the vanilla. Good luck to you!!
  2. Oh yeah!! That sounds terrific also!!
  3. You should be fine. Be aware that there are a few weeks of feeling really tired but you should be fine. Just remember to pack the protein shakes!! Deer sausage would be an awesome snack!!!
  4. I am 7 weeks out and have lost 32 pounds including my 2 week liquid diet. I am happy though because it is coming off and I couldn't have lost 32 pounds in 9 weeks (pre op included) on my own. I will just keep plugging along and when a stall hits and my hair is falling out I will hang in there!! I have lost a ton of inches so I am looking at that as well. Losing slow and a happy girl!!
  5. Outstanding!!! I am so happy for you.......This gives me the motivation to keep going!!
  6. When I was 287 pounds and a 22-24 I rode all the roller coasters at Disney. The other day I was there and it was wonderful to fit a little better. You should give it a try........could be a NSV for you!! Good Luck and have a great time!!

Hang in there! You need to take a deep breath and relax. It is probably as you stated "a small glitch". You sound like me when I have a worry about something that is very important to me I can not relax until it is settled. Do some praying and I will for you as well! Please keep us posted on the outcome!!
  8. I am going to see him on Wednesday for my 2nd follow up. I think he is a wonderful surgeon who truly cares about each of his patients. Everyone I know that used him as there surgeon has been extremely happy. The office staff is outstanding as well. I was a self pay so the fact that he only charges $10,500 was amazing to me. It was the difference between having it and not. Have you tried Premier shakes? They can be bought at Sam's or costco. I think Sam's is cheaper though. It seems to be the favorite for a lot of us. Good luck to you!!
  9. You are fine! Liquids slide in and out rather quickly. Your stomach is healing and if you weren't full on 4 ounces of liquids then your stomach is probably not as swollen as it was. Just don't drink so much so fast. Even though it slides through quickly you shouldn't stress your healing stomach. I doubt very seriously you have a leak. Leaks usually cause extreme pain and you know something is very wrong. Maybe you need something a little thicker for your meals like a smoothie made with yogurt. This might make you feel a little fuller.
  10. I doubt you will ever feel like you are starving yourself. I still have to remember to eat because I never feel hungry and when I do eat I feel completely full. I usually drink my protein shake first thing in the morning. This slides through pretty quick and it would leave more room for you to eat your egg. Just a suggestion that might make getting the protein shake in easier.
  11. I have only told a few people about my surgery. I am on summer break and had my surgery the day after school let out (I work in a high school). I go back to work in 4 weeks and am struggling with letting people know. At this point I want to keep it private because I don't want to deal with the inconsiderate situations that could occur. I realize most of them would probably be great about it but I just don't want my life decisions to be a topic of discussion in the lunchroom. I'm glad you had the opportunity to set her thoughts straight! Perhaps when I am further into this I will begin to tell my story but I am not ready for that yet. Thanks for sharing with us!
  12. I didn't scuba dive but I did just do a lot of snorkeling and diving last week without any trouble at all. I am 7 weeks post op and enjoyed every minute of it! I only went to about 10 feet and that was work! At this point I am still a human cork and getting this body to stay down is work!!
  13. Burping is something that I do during or after I eat depending on what I am eating. I am 7 weeks post op and I am not sure if it will ever go away. I can live with it easy enough. It's an easy trade off! Good luck to you!!
  14. Best of luck to you!! I think once you get used to this you are going to love it!! You are going to great!!
  15. I hope all went well!! Best wishes!!
  16. I have been twice and yes it is very hard! The smell is just about overwhelming! I was good and didn't eat it but I think it will be one of those hard ones not matter how many times you go.
  17. I am 7 weeks post op and I can eat around 4 ounces per meal. It's weird because some days I can eat 4 ounces and other days less or a little more. Go figure!
  18. I agree with you on all of your choices!! These are some of my favorites but I order them on www.mybariatricpantry.com I find they have a lot more choices. You can also order sample packets and I ordered all my Vitamins there. I was going to do the Target thing but when I compared the quality of the vitamins I ordered the bariatric advantage ones. Good luck with your purchases!!
  19. Mine said it counts also! good luck to you!!
  20. This was well said and could be said for a lot of us. I am taking my sleeve very seriously and have stayed away from all carbs that aren't smart. I may lose slow or quick and that is fine with me. My doctor told me if I stay within my calories and get my protein and liquids in I will lose. The body can't defy the math as he put it. I agree that the maintenance and the rest of our life will be the big success and I plan on winning it! Thanks for the post!
  21. Best of luck with this one!! Hopefully you will be back on the fast track! Keep us posted!
  22. Congrats on your surgery!! Glad to hear everything is going along the normal path! Keep us posted with your progress.
  23. I take 2 colace everyday and this helps a lot!
  24. It will get better!! I am 6 weeks out and I still have days that I am more tired than others. Yesterday I was exhausted but today I went to the gym, Whole Foods and Publix. Came home and cooked dinner and cleaned it up. Tomorrow I am going to Disney and will walk and do what I can. If I need to sit down that is what I will do. Hang in there and make sure you get your protein in! You just had major surgery and cut your calories drastically! It takes some time and you will get through it!
