Thanks for all the great advice girls! I love it. Yes I know I need to redo my thinking process. And you are all very right. I have been upfront and sent a picture so whatever happens happens. But I know one thing I am ready to start living again! Valzie

Thank you so much for the advice. I have been married for 15 years and dont know what to do. The picture I sent was recent but only a head and shoulder shot. I mean when I think about it is my issue and may not be an issure for him. Thank you Valzi
  3. Ok here goes: My husband and I are seperated and I have been talking with someone that I met on an online dating site. It started out as emails, then exchanging pics, chatting, and now phone conversations. We seem to get along really well. He asked me to go out with him this weekend but I am very nervous. I have been overweight all my life and just had lapband surgery in Aug. I've lost 20 pounds so far and feel great but am still lacking in the self-confidence department. So here is my question: 1- Do I tell him that I am overweight? Or does that sound too lame 2- Do I tell him I had lapband surgery? Or is it too soon? I am really stressing over this so please give me some feedback! Valzie
  4. Hi my husband and I have been separated for about a month now, about 2 weeks after I was banded. So I guess I am joining the single group. I feel peaceful but.....I wish I had taken care of my body the 15 years I was with him. Well I guess being banded was the first step. Val
  5. Hi newgirl I am waiting for my first fill also and I have been more hungry. I had a couple of Cookies yesterday and did feel guilty but I made a bad choice and plan on doing better today. Having the cookies in the house for me is a big mistake and I wont do that again. Today is a new day so hang in there. Valzie
  6. Remember the band is the tool. In our minds we still want the junk but we need to focus on what our body is telling us. Are we really hungry? I am dealing with these very same issues and I know it isnt easy! Valzie
  7. I too am in a loveless marriage. We have been married 15 years and my husband has been unfaithfull for several of those years finally confessing to an addiction 4 years ago. Since then I have had a hard time being with him especially when he treats me like crap during the day and all of a sudden wants me when we get in bed. However this hasnt been the case lately since he has slept on the couch (His Choice) for several months. Since my decision in April 07 to get the lap band he has lost about 40 pounds, bought a mustang GT and has been out with his friends more than ever. My two children 6 and 3 are feeling the stress and my heart is breaking! His family is even fed up with him at this point. And so I live day to day wondering if he will end it or will I get the courage to do it. Is it going to get better? I doubt it. As I begin to lose weight and my self-confidence grows I think he will pull away from me even more. I guess time will tell! Valzie
  8. I had six including my port. VAL
  9. I was banded just 10 days ago and feel great so far. The whole process for me took 3 1/2 months. Good luck! Val
  10. Frozen veggie burgers (without the bun) only need to be heated in the microwave and are pretty good. Val
  11. As my great aunt once said :Ive had enough man for a lifetime" I can relate totally! Val
  12. I was told to limit meals to 1/2 cup servings three times a day. Two Protein shakes in between meals and also liquids in between. Val
  13. I am six days out and last night I ate a quarter of a meatball. I took teeny tiny pieces and chewed and chewed somemore. It went down ok. I guess we are human and this is all part of it. Got back on track today and not planning on doing it again until it is allowed. Val
  14. Hi all I had surgery on Monday, Aug. 13th so it has been a five days that my band and I have been aquaintend. We are getting along well. I have been on clear liquids since the day before my surgery and this is my last day of it. Thank God! I give those of you credit that had two weeks of liquids prior to your surgery. I dont think I could have done it. Sat. I start full liquids and I am looking forward to it! I will be on full liquids until Friday, Aug 24 when I go back for my post-op checkup. Then it is onto the mushies. It is amazing how many food commercials there really are on TV the Taco Bell one that they seemed to play over and over yesterday was painful. I hope all of you Aug bandsters are doing well. I think that this site is great! Val
  15. Ok lets see if my ticker works.
