OMG!!! Liquid Diet
aaawwww, i feel soooo bad for u. I once went to a doctor who put me on a medical watched liquid diet for three weeks and it was L-A-M-E. The worst part wasnt even the hunger, it was those awful things they made me drink. If i could have picked my own liquids, like soup or whatever, it would have been ok. But those awful shakes...PUKE!!! Remember its only 2 weeks....its only 2 weeks...its only 2 weeks...hang in there!!!

Beware Dr. De La Garza
i agree.. this is a good post with both sides making their case. also the rebuttle does not even dispute the fact that his colon was punctured and his liver lasserated. Isnt that the main point? not the price or the date, what silly minor details in such a tradgity. Whoever wrote that rebuttle origanaly missed the point compleatly.

The hardest part?
yah, i am curious too...why not drinking with meals?

Beware Dr. De La Garza
That is so terrible!!! How could a doctor puncture your colon and lacerate your spleen without even realizing it. Why would a doctor even be in your colons area? I think that is the worst Mexico story I've heard yet. I am so glad you seem to be doing better and thank God you even survived. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your wife. I don't know of any Dr's here in the US who only charge 12k but have heard they are out there.

What surgeries
I already did my breast. I havn't been banded yet but I have heard that you can get them done first. Of course I have heard that you should wait too. My doctor thought getting them done while I still had a weight problem was okay. He would not however perform the tummy tuck untill I had lost more weight. He wants me as close to ideal weight as possible for the tuck. I know alot of people get thigh and arm tucks too. I am hoping because I am young I won't have to do this. The youngr you are the more elastisity you should have. But I am down 40 pounds and my stomich looks like a kangaroo pouch, hanging down to my special place, if you know what i mean I cant wait to get that tummy tuck. So to answer your question, I don't really think there is a general time table to this subject. Just very individual to each person's needs. My breasts cost $9,500 for lift and implants and tummy tuck was quoted $10,000. I hear sometimes insurance may help pay. My insurance doesn't cover anything that has to do with weight loss accept group classes for diet and walking.

check up today
Well I just got back and check up went okay. Bad news is, either my scale is off or I've gained a little weight...oooppppsss. Well they did some bloodwork to check my thyroid and for diabetes ect. Sure all will turn out fine. It really wasn't to difficult or stressfull, Kathy. I don't really have too much advise to give you. Since you and I are both self pay we don't have the same hoops to jump threw that some of the others do. I really wont know anything for a few days untill my blood work comes back.

How do people get along without this?
Gald to hear you are feeling better. I really like this sight too. I know when I have my surgery this sight will help me as much as it has you. And don't forget that you are helping too. Since I have only found this sight a month ago, you are the first person I can follow from start. Your testimony is a blessing to me and many more who choose not to post. Don't sell yourself short. It takes a strong person to share so many details. I only hope I can be the same example after my surgery. Okay, Im going to stop now... getting emotional.... must be PMS...where the hell did that chocolate go???

Plasticize me please!!
I Got my breast implants a year after I had my daughter. I had only lost 40 pounds and still have another 40 or 50 to go but I just couldnt wait anymore. I thought it was so easy and recovery was nothin'. I had a lift and 475 ccs implants. I gave the pain scale a 4 because I know having a baby hurt more than twice as much as that. I cant begin to tell you how scared I was, and for what? You should see my perky, beautiful, glorious, full , and did I mention perky, breasts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. If I would have known how easy it was I would have frollicked in the doctors office and givin him a big kiss right before laying myself on the surgery table. I am going to wait untill I loose the rest of the weight to do any more surgery. Of course this is just one girls experiance who had no complications. Let me know how the tummy tuck goes. Thats next on my list. ohhh, I just wanted to through in that I had a little lipo on my face and would not suggest doing that. What a waist of $1200. That chocolate hussy was at my house too sabotaging any results the lipo brought.

Jailed for Fraud?
Best Me: Dr Kuri actually has three other surgens who work with him and also do surgery. They are all on the american boards. I will find their names and you can do a search on them to see if you can get any info. I am thinking about using Dr Kuri as well and am interested in what you are saying. I dont know what the other docs names are beacause I told Kuri's staff I would only do the surgery there if he was the head surgen performing the surgery. From what I understand there will be 1 or 2 other sugrens in the room. Have you talked to Ishi (is that her name? something like that)? she will give you the other surgens names. You can PM me if you want. I would love to talk to you since we are both thinking of using him. Looks like my surgery is going to be sometime in may. I wouldn't worry too much I have only heard good things about him. I have done quite a few searches on him and asked other american surgens about him.... but I have never asked about the other surgens.

Migraines anyone????
I also have really bad migraine headaches, and when I got pregnant with my daughter they started coming daily. Since I was pregant my doc forbade me to take my perscription drugs. Even though you shouldn't take too much cafiene when u r pregers, he suggested excerdrin migraine. I know how terrible these headaches are and had no faith that an over the counter could touch it, but to my supprise it really did work. I took one everyday instead of the suggested two, and those little pills saved my life. Of course you should talk to your doc first and make sure this is okay to take.
