  1. Thanks time4me, I'm on vacation next week and I swear I'm getting chicken fingers one day.
  2. Could also be laziness! LOL When I signed up here I was at work and didnt have access to any personal pictures so I'm not even using the Avatar I use everywhere else. I usually read this forum at work and I'm limited to what I can do because technically I don't need the Internet to do my job. I could of course upload something from home, I just never have.
  3. Today is my 55th Birthday. I asked them at work to not get me a cake but they did anyway. I was told because other people want cake. Not told that by my boss, she didn't reply to me when I said I didn't want one. I think it is kind of disrespectful to get a cake when I don't want to have to see one and be stuck in a room with one for 10 hours. The hotel supplies the cake so they just as easily could have asked for something I like- like brownies or even Cookies. What I really would like is chicken fingers. Oh well, am I being petty or unreasonable to be miffed? For the last 12 years I have been on vacation for my Birthday and did not get a cake before or after (as they do for other people) because I asked not to. BTW I haven't said anything to anyone at work about the cake. I didn't even acknowledge that it is sitting there- 10 feet away with my name on it. I guess that's kind of b****y of me.
  4. Unfortunately I am having issues with spicy food- I havent even dared to try hot sauce except as a minor ingredient. I wonder if it has anything to do with age though, seems some people have those issues more as they get older and I will be 55 in a week. It's very annoying and I usually just eat it anyway but my stomach does complain or I get bad heartburn. Not smart on my part I'm sure.
  5. I had to laugh, I've eaten probably 80 % of my food from a 1/2 cup measure ever since my surgery! (over 5 months ago)
  6. I couldnt drink plain Water for 10 weeks. I drank Arnold Palmer Zero which is half tea half lemonade from Arizona Tea Co & pink lemonade G2, also a variety of water additives (like Mio). Also a berry flavored water in a bottle, maybe it was Propel. Most of the Sobe and Lifewater types I tried I hated. It was such a relief when I could go back to plain water!
  7. Drs and NUTs are all over the place when it comes to Protein needs. If you know what works for your body stick to it! I keep trying to get mine higher hoping I will start loosing faster. Every time I go down to only one protein shake a day I stop loosing. No way I could give up my breakfast replacement iced coffee with protein added.
  8. I'm really good at not registering what my body looks like at home in my same old mirrors but last month we were at a hotel with a mirrored wall in the bathroom. I had this sick fascination with all the ways my thighs are sagging. The worse thing is after over 30 years of a gigantic belly there is so much sag that from the belly button down my belly folds in now. So I have two belly halves like you have two butt cheeks! Very wierd. I also hate to walk around the house without my stretchy bike shorts or jeans on because of the amount of belly sway. I read a book several years ago by a lady who had lost a ton of weight and she said her skin kept adjusting for two years after she reached goal.
  9. My surgeon said Milk of Magnesia too. I only needed it once but it only took an hour to get results and they were OK results- not painful or too much or prolonged, just right.
  10. All we got for the 2 days after surgery were ice chips & a couple popsicles! They even took the Water bottle away from down the hall so we couldn't get a drink there until 2 days after surgery. I think it was good though to rely on the IV fluids and not worry about drinking. Congratulations Lemondrop!
  11. What are you missing? Probably 80% of your stomach and 81 plus lbs! yuk, yuk, couldnt help myself. I take Mega red fish oil for the Omega 3's. My face and hair were always oily so I'm enjoying being more normal and not very oily now. I swear my face has a whole new feel now, not just less oily but like new skin!
  12. Definately younger!! My best friend keeps saying- your face is so different, your face is so different- I'm afraid to ask if that is good or bad!!!
  13. You look great! You don't really need to lose anymore. I enjoy seeing your posts.
  14. Some people have posted that they used mug warmers.
  15. I only had any pain once, 30 hours after surgery. The nurse gave me some pain killer in my IV and that was it. I was walking a couple hours after surgery. After a week or two I had one little bout of constipation that Milk of Magnesia solved in an hour. Usually I am a slow healer but my incisions healed quickly- I was showing them off to lots of people because they were so small and healthy. The only really hard things were getting sick of Protein drinks and yogurt and a one month stall I just got over about 10 days ago. As long as I keep healthy foods available things go really smoothly.
  16. Good Luck tomorrow! Everything will be fine.
  17. Congratulations! Big difference! I wish my loss showed on me like yours does on you! Jealous.
  18. When I was a fat little kid Halloween was the only day I didn't feel embarrassed at eating candy. At 10 or 11 I was too aware of being fat to trick or treat anymore. If I had been given a mean note like that it would have ruined Halloween for me at a younger age. If you are a fat kid you know it, you don't need some old hag pointing it out and it will probably make those little fat kids eat MORE candy out of frustration. Now I always work on Halloween night and so I don't buy candy. My husband will be home tonight but he is Diabetic so I told him he can't buy candy and to just turn off the porch light. If it fell on a night I was home I would have been scouring the stores for healthy treats.
  19. Sometimes people misunderstand the tone of what you are saying because it is in print. I personally appreciate that you posted what your Dr said- I like to hear all views. I hope you don't stop participating.
  20. Wow nice difference! Congrats. I decided today to go buy some jeans a size too small, I've been in my 2 sizes down long enough. I want to see how bad another size down fits! I promise not to wear them if I can't breath.
  21. I think I was 10 weeks out when I could finally drink water without it feeling too hard. I started out only being able to drink Arrowhead but now I can drink any water. I still cant drink as much of it or as fast as other stuff though.
  22. I use my weight from the first day of pre-op but I learned something on this thread! Not to pay attention to someone else's rate of loss unless they state when they started counting!
  23. G2 which is low cal Gatorade- I prefer the lemonade flavor or the green or red. I make my own lemonaide with concentrated lemon juice & sweetner. Propel zero- I like the berry the best. Also the zero Arnold Palmer made by Arizona Tea. I couldnt drink water for a long time so I lived on those. Also those "water enhancers" like Mio or the little zero cal powder packets that you add to water.
  24. Take small bites, chew it good and eat slowly. Don't overeat. You'll know it when (if) it happens!
  25. I cant wait! I cant wait! I cant wait! I'm 208 You look great! Congratulations.
