Cheer Mama reacted to Nadiyyah in 7 weeks out: How many oz. are you eating?
I'm 4weeks out and when I went to my first week check up my surgeon said my pouch isn't even 2oz. So I'm petrified to even eat alot of anything. I make my own tuna fish with one hard boiled egg mashed up really well with tiny multi grain crackers but can only eat very little. Good luck to everyone

I am 7 months post op and have NEVER had that problem nor have I met anyone that has had that however everyone & and their progress & recovery is different! Stay positive and know you can do this!
Listen to the guidelines your surgeon gives you post op!
    Good luck!

Take a deep breath. For technical questions, ask your doctor.
It is normal for anxiety before surgery. Please remember that ANY surgery carries riskes.
I had lots of what ifs before I had surgery. I think many of us have been there. For me the pro out weighed the con.
    Good luck!

First of all: CONGRATS! This will be awesome.
I wish you had someone to help you on your travels back. I have no clue as to the amount of pain you will be in, but that is the part that worries me......
Good luck on your new you!

Is no drinking before and after eating a forever thing? What did your Dr/NUT say? I am really not missing the drinking during the meal part but the timing the before/after time is a drag. Especially when I am behind on fluids for the day.

From everything I have read and been told, yes, it is a forever thing. I would guess most of us have problems when we are behind or low on fluids, especially in the heat this time of year.
Good luck, and remember the old saying, do something for 6 months and it becomes a habit. (I'll tell you in three more months if this one has made it.)

It took me 2hrs yesterday, but i finally ate a whole greak yogurt and a mini brie wheel for lunch!! Now, at breakfast and dinner, i don't have 2 hrs to eat so its a 15 min. deal and thats it! In that way, i can only get in about a tablespoon....so, not sure how 'big" the tummy is if i have to take 2 hrs to eat

This dude is three years out. Though by my calculations it's two??? Yep two sorry
Anyways I'd say this is not something for the newly sleeved (less than a year) to try....
    Just doesn't sound healthy.
    Right??

I'm confused why are you doing this? I have no interest in eating 400-600 calories a day or eating less than 20 carbs a day nor in drinking my dinner every night. I had surgery to enable me to eat like a normal healthy human being. No more crash fad diets. None of them worked pre sleeve and I have no intention of bringing my warped relationship with food post sleeve.

Have you gone to the doctor? I have had my history of thyroid problems and that can make it very difficult to lose weight. Just a suggestion... I hope you find something soon that helps!!

What always makes me 'hungry' is stomach acid. I HAVE to use a ppi so that I don't ruin my stomach again.
The other good suggestions are warm meals. Oh, and make sure you are getting in enough Protein. :0)
    Good luck!

I am 6 weeks out and I cannot eat one oz yet- I think I have a super small sleeve!! It is very frustrating because I have not even met half of my Protein goal yet! I'm jealous of people who can eat 3 oz!

At 10g a day, I'm not sure if it would combat the Hair loss, but it would certainly combat the muscle weight loss and overall health of your body. 10g isn't going to cut it for anyone, not even a 10 year old child. Gotta get more than that.

Three years ago, on July 14th 2010, I had my VSG. I cannot now remember what life was like, what I was like, before surgery. I am still not at goal, in fact am a solid 60 lbs away from goal. There are things I know now about metabolic surgery that I did not know before, really that none of us knew, that are only just being realized now. For example, the fact that a super low calorie diet isn't necessarily responsible for your honeymoon weightloss and that staying on a super low calorie diet after the honeymoon won't necessarily ensure continued significant loss.
I love my sleeve, I love that after 3 years I can still get full from 3 pieces of sushi, That 2 scrambled eggs will keep me going for 10 hours, that I can go an entire day without eating and not even realize it, and then be satisfied with an apple and Peanut Butter.< /p>
After so much time, the next phase/goal is the reconstruction, getting this excess tissue off is my next goal, and someday, SOMEDAY, finally getting to be totally and completely not fat

I say keep showing up to the doctors office, urgent care, and ER for the vomiting and choking. Magnify your complaints don't minimize them. Trust me they will recognize its cheaper to take the damm thing out. Also file an appeal with your insurance company and a medical grievance as well with the medical group you belong too.

This is the step I was most worried about. It was a breeze. They brought me into the room, the anesthesiologist gave me something "to make this go easier" and next thing I knew I woke up in the recovery room. Just wanted to post this in case anyone else is really nervous about this part.

I would have told her that perhaps there is a reason she's not to give "off record" advice is that it is so incredibly rude and unwelcome.. and that you'll be sure to let your doctor know that nurses in the hospital are dispensing medical advice that conflicts with his course of treatment.
