Cheer Mama got a reaction from Casey235 in Two years out and what I wish I had done differently immediately post op
HI! I look back on my post op experience and my biggest regret is that I got off of the liquid diet too soon. I followed my doctors advice and followed the post op plan, I just wish I had gone even a few more weeks or even a month on pure liquids. I look back and that is when I lost almost all of the weight. I haven't been able to replicate that loss since then. I still have another 20-30 lbs I really want to lose. Post op liquids is also the hardest time. It was like going through withdrawal! haha I thought it was horrible and damn near excruciating to be cut off from solid food, it really wasn't all that bad in hindsight. I wish I had embraced that feeling. Good luck to all!

@@Cheer Mama "it really wasn't that bad in hindsight" LOL, that is how women remember childbirth. It WAS bad... The liquid part was Horrible! The Full Liquid was only slightly better....

I haven't been sleeved yet, but did you EVER think you would ever think those thoughts?!?! The 'getting full' part?
Serious side now, call your doctor and nutritionist and talk to them, tell them how you feel and your fears. They have heard it before and should be able yo calm your nerves and give you ideas to take more of both in.
    Good luck!

Hi! I am feeling great! I lost a total of 70 lb then have stayed right there... but baby is growing right on track! Which means I am still losing and he is gaining what he needs. I have 7.5 weeks until my c-section and I can't wait I am very excited. I can tell things are still changing... I still drop clothing sizes. Still don't reccomend anyone getting pregnant this soon it's HARD but I have more energy than I did in either of my 2 previous pregnancies.

Third pregnancy has been way easier in some ways but there is the restriction issue... it is HARD to get the right calories. There are things that are harder like combating cravings because I can't just eat a bunch of chocolate... and I forget to eat and then nothing tastes good... but yeah I have a lot more energy and getting around has been easier. I have a scheduled c section in 5.5 weeks and will will be bringing my little man home in 6 weeks.

A friend who is a nurse said that hormones are stored in fat cells and apparently losing a lot of weight can cause hormone issues...I don't know how true it really is, but she knew someone who had issues with a period lasting for a few weeks when she lost weight quickly on a high Protein diet.

I am a nurse. You do store estrogen along with many other hormones in your fat cells. Poor thing...hopefully things will level out for you soon.

Thank you Lipsticklady. I might just check into this. MizB I have a follow up appointment this week to see my surgeon again due to the vomiting. I have been keeping a close eye on my symptoms with the electrolytes and all even though they can Chang at the drop of a hat. Iam going to call them Monday to get in sooner. Like everyone, I just wanted to have a smooth recovery and feel good after surgery, but that certainly is not what's happening. Just frustrated....

oh, my! it IS worth it! I promise! I hope you will soon find a way to keep stuff down. Call your doc again and again till you get to keep your liquids down. You may very well need to get an IV for dehydration. Water is hard to drink for many. sometimes I could only do some watered down crystal light.... good luck!

I had the same issue, but I was given Levsin (sp?) for cramping along with my anti-nausea meds. It took me about 2 months to come off both but it was SO SO SO worth it. SO WORTH IT.

Yes, anything salty, and yes like others here I have eaten salt plain off a plate. I was just so sick of sweet Protein Drinks. hence the fries and potato chips. and mashed potatoes and gravy...mmmmm..... gravy.

OK...I have just read every post on this topic and as usual I have learned a lot. I am only 2 weeks & 3 days out from my surgery however, when I get to a point that I feel comfortable with it I am sooooo havin' beer, McFnDonald's French fries, a piece of pizza, a cheeseburger, cheese sticks, chocolate something, coke zero with a straw, lasagna, and a piece of red velvet cake, maybe not on the same day but I'm having it all eventually! Till then I'm just gonna sip my Water and shut up!

In my defence.. I ain't no brainiac. I put it down to it being 02:17 UK time, being on a diet of fresh air and liquid (supplemented with a big bite of velvet cup cake and frosting) and frankly, I am so pig sick of the 'regulations' associated with this surgery, I even friggin' DREAM of Protein these days. If it starts with a 'P', it is now known as 'protein'. I need to get the hell out more. Seriously.
