  1. I totally agree with you! I think if you can get that much nutrition in I don't see an issue...I think most of us are just shock, personally im a little jealous, that you can eat that much. I'm just 6 weeks out and EVERYTHING is making me natious. Yesterday I managed to get down a yogurt and 1 Protein shake. I don't think your sabotaging your sleeve, you would feel it if you were pushing it! Watch your cards for sure..and its always good to meet with your nutritionist to make sure we are on track! I think we are all having our own version of this journey and you have to find the routine that works best for you and your lifestyle!!
  2. So Awesome!! Sometime I see people post and they started at 220 and thats my goal weight... and I get so discouraged.. but now that I have reached my first goal I know I can do anything!! WOOOHOOO FOR US!!!!
  3. For Sure..Let us know how you do!! It's like the diet we have always dreamed of...and for me it has been worth every bit of sacrifice and discomfort to see that scale move the way it has!
  4. Thats the course I'm on..thanks ladies... right now even my protein shakes are making me sick.. even water. I am wondering if it has something to do with the cold meds I have been taking also. I have had Bronchitis, a Sinus infection and an ear infection...and now I can't stomach a thing.. I'M A MESS!
  5. I'm confused... the first five weeks were pretty standard! No issues at all... I was introducing new foods slowly, some more succesful than others. AND NOW, EVERYTHING makes me SICK!! what the heck? I don't think its a stricture because its not coming back up... it just makes me feel terrible for about an hour! Any advice?
  6. I know most people are looking forward to ONEderland but as of today I am under 300 pounds for the first time in 15 years and I had to share my joy! Highest weight 353 Day of surgery 329 Today 298 YAY ME!!!!!!!!
  7. I HIGHLY suggest them on flavored protein powder from GNC! I use it in cream of wheat, soup, pudding and even jello! Can't taste a thing and I have no problem getting my protein in! I'm usually at about 80 grams a day
  8. Good question! Is there a difference between sugarfree and no sugar added?
  9. Just looking for new ideas! Can we have quinoa?
  10. you bet!! SOOOOO easy! I buy the big bag of portion packed Edamame from Costco! they come in packages of about 1 1/2 cups each (about 3/4 cup of actual beans) you cook them in the bag in the Micro for 3 minutes... then I throw them in a super hot non stick pan with about 2 tbsp of Soy Sauce, 1 tsp minced garlic, a pinch of Ginger and Siracha to taste..I like the spicy! and I just let them sizzle until the sauce reduces and sticks to the pods. toss in a bowm and snack away... You can also do this with hulled soybeans as well... but I find that eating them in pod form makes me slow down...kind of an artichoke thing..takes time but your not really eating a ton at a time!
  11. I have found my new favorite thing in the world! Edamame (soybeans) roasted with garlic, ginger, soy sauce and sir racha for heat! They are delicious full of protein and so fun to snack on!
  12. I had the same Problem.. I am just about 4 weeks out and it's still not super easy. BUT.. the trick is definitley in warm or at least room temperature water it helps relax the stomach muscles so it is not quite so hard to stomach!!!
  13. So I have been dieting up and down to 355 pounds for about 7 years.... everytime I have had any succes I make it to almost exactly 313 pounds. That is the lowest I have been in 11 years. So guess where I have been stalled for the last 10 days, you guessed it 313. It is killing me to see that same dreaded number!! I know I will beat it this time BUT COME ON!!! couldn't I have stalled at 299?
  14. I am three weeks out and I have not lost a pound for 8 days! You have to realize you body is wondering what the heck is going on! It will pass! I know mine will just keep to the plan
  15. Welcome Stacey! I'm so excited for you. I am just 3 weeks out from surgery I had my sleeve done on April 22nd and There are definitley challenges but I am so excited for what the next few months have in store! Good luck and your going to have lots of questions, so PLEASE ASK!!!
  16. The power of positive thinking will be your best friend!! go in there knowing your going to come out a new person and face this adventure head on! I'm three weeks out and despite the challenges I am so happy I did this!
  17. I have done quite a bit of research on this topic, because it was the biggest worry deciding to go with the sleeve! YES! your stomach and "Relax" or "Stretch" to some degree but never to its original size. The stomach you have remaining is mostly muscle, and the strchy part is what was removed, so it will be much more difficult for it to stretch than before. I think my big worry is Slider foods, and I think that attributes to weight gain for many. But overall, I know that I have to cherish and protect my little sleeve I want it to serve me as long and as well as it can!
  18. Awesome thread! I was wondering that myself since a lot of people seem to be in the 200's when they start I'm a little different scenario because I am 6' tall. I had surgery 4/22 and am currently in the dreaded 3 week stall...it sucks!! Starting weight 353 day of surgery 328 # weeks out 313
  19. I'd like to try the Nectar in water.... any opinions on the best flavor?
  20. Doesn't sound funny at all... I wasn't prepared for that restriction and it is making it really difficult for me to get my Water in. I have always been a chugger so it was easy to get in lots of water in a day...learning to sip is hard for me..I'm still only getting in about 32 oz on a good day... so I'm hoping it gets better soon!!!
  21. Super weird I know" but I have read that this is a symptom of dehydration and malnutrition. I am 3 weeks out and wondered if I'm the only one?
  22. I started introducing soft foods at about a week and a half... i just tried something different everyday.. I have not had any bad reactions, although when I eat ground turkey it feels so heavy in my stomach. like I need every bit of energy I have to digest it!! I'm only 18 days post off but pretty much fully off of the full liquids at this point. just be careful and don't try to much too fast!
  23. Knoew - thats knew and know together...covering the past and present...lol we need spell check!
