  1. I was banded in August 2010 and had my revision exactly one year ago today. My weight loss has been extremely slow but I am still happy with my sleeve. I am down 30 pounds from a year ago but I also had a lower BMI going into the surgery. I have another 45 to lose but I feel much better to reach my goal weight! I do have to work harder at losing weight because this is a tool but I love that I am full at the end of dinner and have no room for dessert

    Any Regrets? Band to sleeve?

I was revised June 6th and I have no regrets! I have never been happier! Only regret… that I had the band in the first place. What sucks is that you lose at a slower pace with a conversion but I am already down 30 pounds! I have 40 more to go. I didn't even try and watch what I was eating last month because I was traveling for work and I still lost 10 pounds (I did walk a lot for exercise). People at work have noticed and they even tell me that I am glowing. I wish I had never had the band and had chose the sleeve as my first WLS.

The difference between lose and loose...

Can we add too, to, and two because that drives me nuts TOO!
  4. I used Dr. Kim and I am pleased. He took out all saline from my band prior to my conversion and did everything in one surgery.

One Year Before and After Pics

This might sound stupid, but your arms look great! Did you work on your arms at all? My fear is that my skin will hang from my arms and I won't be able to hide it.

    Scared... Need a Pep Talk!

You will do great. Honestly the pain isn't too bad and I had a conversion from a lapband to a sleeve. I thought getting the lapband was more painful. The only hard part is dealing with head hunger after surgery and not being able to eat solids. You will get through it. Complications are really low as long as you follow your doctor's orders.

    SAD :(

Hi there, I am almost 6 weeks out and I know how you feel. I was the same way. I barely lost 5 pounds the first two weeks and I was jealous at all the people losing like crazy. I felt so frustrated. Don't worry. It will come off! Follow your doctor's orders and it will drop off. Also, if you are constipated, talk to your doctor. I was too and he told me to take Milk of Magnesia and/or Miralax and that helped a lot! Good luck! I am sure you will do great!

I didn't have a drain. What determines having a drain?

    Dr David Kim/Dr Bridget Holden

I freaked as well when I go the letter. When I went there last week, they said he was out of network only for surgeries. I could still go there for my follow ups.

    Quest Protein Bars

Has anyone tried their pasta from quest. It is low carb. I am thinking of buying it.

No artifical sweeteners or processed products

Whatever it is, you can get coconut palm from Asian grocery stores for a fraction of the cost of the crystallized version.

Wikipedia is incorrect. Palm sugar is made from coconut palm. It used to be made from palmyra palm. Not anymore. The ingredients on my palm sugar reads coconut palm. Read this link:http://www.templeofthai.com/food/flour_sugar/coconutpalmsugar-3610001105.php

Palm sugar is the same as coconut sugar. It's very cheap from Asian stores but it comes in a solid form. It's not crystallized like the coconut sugar. It's about a dollar a brick.
