  1. I have my last appointment on November 26th and I was required by the surgeon to lose 20lbs (they make everyone lose 10-20 lbs) and at the vary start my aunt was like well when you lose that weight why cant you just keep going. I'm 1 pound away from goal and in order to get here I have had to have 2 shakes a day and a meal for dinner and a few days of all liquids. I can't just keep drinking shakes for a year to lose my 120 pounds maybe 2 years. and ill just gain some if not all back once I stop...she just doesn't get it even though she is morbidly obese her self. I ignore it all because I'm doing it for me and my mind is set on doing this.
  2. I have 1 and a half pound left before I have reached my pre op goal. I am super early and I imagine it's going to be hard trying to maintain my weight till the end of November.
  3. I hate to say it but if your insurance requires a center of excellence then they will most likely deny it again. my insurance also requires a center of excellence and wont do it any other way. A lot of insurance these days that do cover this require center of excellence.
  4. my center actually requires you to lose 5 to 10% of ur body weight before surgery is scheduled
  5. My grandpa and boyfriend support me but my aunt and grandma think it's over the top. all that matters to me is that I know that I need this. they still support me and will be there for me but they don't think I really need this.
  6. here is what I have had to do. a blood test, a urine drug and nicotine test, 1 psychologist visit, a cardiac clearance test, and a EGD. I would have had to do a sleep study but I had one 2 years ago and came back nothing. 2 months left and on my last month I will need to go to 2 NUT classes.
  7. I've lost 15. Did it in 4 months and I have two to go
  8. do you have your last appointment scheduled? My 4th one was today
  9. I've been walking 2 miles or more a day and have been mostly drinking Water no soda at all and haven't been eating much fast food
  10. I have no comorbility but my center requires everyone to lose 10-20lbs. I've been doing two shakes a day or sometimes ill just split one and do half for breakfast and half for lunch if I'm desperate lol. Then I've been walking over 2 miles a day. My coordinator said I'm looking at surgery in December if all goes well!
  11. Last appointment is November 26th its gone by fast! Anyone else 2 months left or near 2 months left? I'm required to lose 20lbs by my surgeon and I've lost 15 so far. Was definitely not easy cause I hit a stall at only 10 lbs and tried uping my work out and that was a no go so I went on a mostly liquid diet. I've still got a while but I prefer to get things done and over as quick as possible lol. The only thing that's left is two nut classes which I think I'll be told to do next appointment. It's crazy to think that this year may be my last year to stuff my face at thanksgiving as hard core as everyone else.
  12. I have lost 15 lbs and I have 2 months to go. I've been eating my favorites on the weekends. Not every weekend though.
  13. I need to lose 20 by November 26th and I've lost 15 so far. Took me 3 almost 4 months.
  14. I've got a little over two months left of my 6 months and on top of blood tests, cardiac clearance, sleep study and endoscopy I have to lose 20 lbs I've lost 13/14 lbs so far lol. But I've never been a breakfast eater so now I just drink a premier shake
  15. I had to have a nicotine and a drug test and my insurance won't do it if you test positive. My center won't do the surgery either. Not even medical.
  16. Ugh I need to lose 11 more pounds by nov 26th. It seemed like a long time but trying to lose more than what I already have lost is difficult. I keep losing and gaining now >.<
  17. My insurance requires a nicotine test before my 6 months start and I think my last appointment. It only took mine a week for results.
  18. I was diagnosed with lupus antibodies last week which means my clotting process is abnormal and am more prone to clotting and if I am to have surgery my hematologist wants me on a thinner shot once a day for a month. I told my surgeon it ran in the family and I had tested a positive negative a few years ago it was dismissed but she wanted to double make sure. She did say that they can do surgery with this but I'm nervous she might say no. A month seems like a long time to be on shots so I will have to talk to my surgeon cause my hematologist didn't quite understand what a gastric sleeve was and how much you really have to get up and move.
  19. My last dietician appointment is November 26th so they said if I'm approved I'm looking at a December surgery
  20. I have 3 more appointments to go. I have to go to the baraicatrics center at the hospital and see their dietician once a month. I'm kinda glad cause at my clinic they over book their doctors and so the doctors keep leaving. I've had 3 different doctors this year lol. My last one left last month.
  21. I'm using the time to try shakes and different soups and yogurts. Then instead of looking forward to the last appointment I plan trips to the beach, concerts, movies. Just had my 21st birthday and I look forward to those that come sooner. And as those go by my last appointment gets closer.
  22. I have about 3 months to go for my last appointment with the dietician and I was just informed that my doctor left and I've been switched to a new clinic and have a new doctor. I've never met her and I prob won't unless I need too cause they over book their doctors. So what does this mean when it's time to submit to insurance? The new doctor was not the one to refer me. Has anyone else had this happen?
