  1. I'm not at all worried about my therapist. She told me to give him her number and supports this choice and is proud of how well I have come (was being taken advantage of by my guardian) but since I'm out on my own I've come a long way..I just worry about my history and I have horrible social and general anxiety and while I'm close with my family and boyfriend I have no friends out side the Internet.
  2. i asked him and he said I wouldn't need any appointments he will talk with my therapist that if had for 2 years and then talk with the bariatric team and give me a call in a few weeks.
  3. I tend to worry about anything I can..but you are probably right.
  4. What happens if you aren't cleared for the psyc test? Do they have you come in and talk about it? Give you a second chance or can you try again eventually or is that it? I'm still waiting to hear back about mine but just want to know
  5. I had mine Monday. We talked a bit about my family support system and history. Why I wanted the surgery and what the risks are. About my eating habits and then I had to take a personality quiz on the computer which was 340 questions and I swear about 200 of them stated about alcohol, suicide and drugs in sneaky ways...you would think after the first few times I said I do not drink,I do not do nor have i ever done drugs and I do not feel like committing suicide they would get it lol

  12. Thanks for the info! My doctor called and told me even though my recent test shows I'm in the range of pre diabetes I'm in their system as controled type 2 diabetes so hopefully I won't have to self pay but I'm still going to do my research just incase!

Great news! I called my dietician to clarify and she said my A1c is pre diabetic range but in their system I have diabetes but its controlled so now I just have my psyc stuff to be cleared.
  14. There is a chance my insurance won't cover me because I only have pre diabetes and not full blown type two. I was wondering how much self pay is including the flight there and back and if you can do payments? I'd also like references as too good programs/surgeons and where to start. Thanks

I started my 6 months today and my dietician said that I only have pre diabetes. I saw a hematologist a couple years ago and he said I have diabetes..my insurance requires you to have diabetes to be approved..my dietician said that some doctors consider pre diabetes diabetes..now I had to get pre approved and send in my app to the bariatric center at my seminar before I could see my surgeon and get started..it says on the paper to not bother applying if you are under 18, below 35 BMI and don't have diabetes, over age 71 and or a BMI of over 71 and yet I was accepted and my insurance approved all of my pre op appointments..so I'm confused but my dietician made me nervous...I called and left a message with my doctors nurse to find out how she is wording my diabetes situation..I'm hoping to hear soon but my doctor is always booked and busy...also super nervous about my psyc test..I should hear back from the team in a few weeks..ugh this **** stresses me out..I want this more than anything!
  19. At the bariatric center in my city you are required to lose a % of your weight. If your doctor\surgeon didn't tell you to try and lose some weight then you shouldn't really worry about it. Although losing some weight really helps with the safety of the surgery?
  20. Congratulations and good luck!
