I know this is an older post but wanted to share I am getting closer to goal each and everyday. Total lost 125 and 50 to go and I will be excited! The summer was great and I did make it about me and my kids focusing on weight loss and diet learning so much about myself!
Hope your journey is going well even after your year date!

Surgery went well thanks... But developed pneumonia afterwards, so was in the hospital for a week and a half and now have been home for a week with a picc line in and nurses coming out daily to administer IV antibiotics. Hopefully the picc line comes out tomorrow.
Had planned on being back at work today but just not ready yet so taking another few days off.
Have done 2 weeks liquids and now onto purees but really don't have that much interest in food. Have lost 6 kilos in 2.5 weeks and feeling positive!

123Go reacted to taterbum in 4 Months down - My thoughts
Well, four months down It's funny, it seems like it was just last week I had it done....and at the same time I can’t believe it’s only been 4 months.
Your life gets into a routine, you do x,y,z go to bed, get up, do it again. It's not to the point where my life is normal to me yet...but it's beyond the new car smell now.
Everyone around me comments on my weight loss. How good I look, how fast it's coming off. While I see it, I still see all the work still needed. I look in the mirror and see progress yes, but also sigh at what’s looking back at me. It's funny what four months can do.....
In four months I have lost 100 lbs. I got on the table at 375lbs May 12th, I just weighed in 275lbs today...four months 100lbs off. I weigh myself once a week. Same scale at the Dr. office on my way home every Wednesday. I watch what I eat in terms of Protein, fat, and sugars. I keep track of calories but in a side note more than a target. I figured out about midway through this thing for me protein is king. I was so caught up in calories in - calories out I missed my protein targets. The Doc took me to task on my 1 month follow-up and increased my protein to 70grams a day. 70 grams! I was having a tuff time getting in 40g!
To this day I still have a tuff time with the 70g a day mark. I try, oh Lord do I try....but damn it's hard. I have a tuff time eating meat now. I can eat meat (chix, pork, beef, lamb) as long as I have something with it. Something like a little rice, or with some veggies. By itself though...it's iffy that it will stay down. That coupled with I cant seem to even smell Protein powder now without getting nauseous....makes protein intake a chore. I work at it though That and I stay consistent with my exercise. I'm not killing myself at the gym, but I religiously get in 4 miles a day walk/jog. It takes me all day to do it, but it gets done. A bit before work, a bit during work, and the last bit after. With that, 5lbs a week loss steady for the last 2 months plus.
I've got another app with my Dr. coming up in week or so. The only complaint I have thus far is muscle pulls. I'm thinking a low potassium count, but we'll see. The muscle pulls suck though. Twice back pulls and a weekly deal with my right calf pull....sigh. Other than that little nugget, no complaints. It's not easy, not easy at all. All the things you hear about is true to some degree. Your family and friends eat like its their last meal every night, you take 2 or 3 bites of something heavenly and get full, head-hunger sucks, things you used to love to eat no longer work for you, you find out you used to eat meals at mach 5 and now you’re in the slow lane, and other fun stuff...
Just some random thoughts at four months....
    -Jay

This is probably the best/worst thing for some of us, but it works for me ! Once a week I bake Cookies or brownies for my co workers. Started it a few months ago, and they say it really makes them happy ! I cant have the stuff in my house because I ll eat it, so I get the baking bug out of my system, eat a couple and pass the treats onto others. We're all happy !

My 6 month surgiversary was on the 3rd but I hit the 100lb mark yesterday from my preop weight. Now, unfortunately the last 8lbs was from some serious dehydration from being sick (not surgery related) and I expect some of it to come back, but I figured I'm sick and miserable so I might as well Celebrate what I can. I'm down from a 24 bottom 3x top to a 14 and L tops. I actually bought my first medium at old navy last night!
At this point I have no regrets. This has been the best thing I've ever done for myself.

I'm feeling ok. Somewhat embarrassed about it though I suppose (I haven't reached goal yet and this will be my 3rd weight loss surgery). But hey, everyone is walking their own road so I'm just trying to stay positive this might be my golden ticket.
Hope your pre op went well!

It has been one year since we all have been sleeved give or take a few weeks, wondering how everyone is doing? This surgery has changed my life. Down from 246-250 range to 123-126. It has opened new doors, some good, some bad. Anyone have a shopping fetish for small new clothes, like me? I love my sleeve.

123Go got a reaction from BeagleLover in Omega loop (mini gastric bypass) in october!
Hi all - I'm booked in on October 15th for a revision to an Omega loop in South Australia.
Sadly its actually it's a revision of a revision :/ and I feel like a big fat failure.
I had a lapband in 2007 (initially lost 35 kilos of the 50 i needed to lose) but developed very unhealthy habits). the band caused me no end of trouble with constant fills and unfills to manage severe (choking in the night) reflux and ended up gaining back nearly 30 of those. I had it removed in 2012 and had to wait 6 months for my revision to a sleeve because the band had done so much damage to my stomach.
Because of that damage, my wonderful sleeve surgeon did his best but was unable to make a small, neat sleeve. I only managed to lose 13 kilos in the first few months after that surgery (and no longer have reflux which is great). For the last 6 months I've been back to the old days of panic-dieting... moving from one fad diet to another just to try and not gain. It makes me sad because I really thought that with the sleeve my days of that would finally be over.
So I head towards my October surgery with cautious optimism...My surgeon thinks I'm a good candidate for the OL and that they are seeing a few people in a similar situation to me.
I'd love to meet others who have had the omega loop or are going to

    Girlfriend listen to me:
Your money is the SAME size and color as those skinny people.
You know how they got skinny and stay that way? By not caring what some other person with a hangup has and getting in there and working it!
You will have role models in front of you to keep motivated.
I didn't care. I was in a gym for college age people. I got out there walking and then cheering on any one else larger. I then kept working it until I was down girlfriend ...
do not under any circumstances, after you've come this far, let someone with a small mind interrupt your Quest to be healthier.

123Go reacted to Bandarella in Lap band or sleeve? Why did you get revision to sleeve?
@@okaykay, Removable, yes. The reality is that if you have complications, the effects of those complications are often permanent and can make revision impossible.
