  1. Hi all - I'm 3 month out and down 28 pounds.... I'm a low bmi too and have been a slower loser... Just dropped under 30 bmi and now 'overweight' lol
  2. Hi all - I've stalled through weeks 6-8, but I'm ok with it. I'm eating normal foods again. Just sticking with it, I'm sure it will move again soon! Feeling great being 11kgs down since op day, don't mind at all if the next 11 are slow, as long as I get there. Just about to join a gym as I haven't yet done any exercise, but I think that will help shake this stall up a bit! A tip- when you eventually try steak again, go very slowly... Tried it last night and thought I was having a heart attack ( took hours for the pain to pass.
  3. 6 weeks out and have lost a bit over 10 kgs (22 pounds?) from adelaide, australia
  4. I've had pretty bad pain at my left side too! my surgeon told me that that was the side he did the most work through and that I have a short torso so there wasn't much room between my hip and the bottom of my ribs. I'm 2.5 weeks out now and not taking any pain meds. I still can't sleep on my left side comfortably, but it's definitely starting to get better
  5. Surgery went well thanks... But developed pneumonia afterwards, so was in the hospital for a week and a half and now have been home for a week with a picc line in and nurses coming out daily to administer IV antibiotics. Hopefully the picc line comes out tomorrow. Had planned on being back at work today but just not ready yet so taking another few days off. Have done 2 weeks liquids and now onto purees but really don't have that much interest in food. Have lost 6 kilos in 2.5 weeks and feeling positive!
  6. Thanks so much for all that information! Really helpful!! Fingers crossed I'm as successful as you are )
  7. Well done!!! That's so inspirational for me. I had my Omega loop (revision from band then sleeve) just over 2 weeks ago and have lost 6kgs. So happy for you, thanks for updating us! Any tips on eating/habits/learnings?
  8. Hi all I had my mini gastric bypass (omega loop) 7 days ago. Previously I had a sleeve and before that a lapband. Also had a hiatal hernia fixed and am still in hospital but that's because I developed a chest infection after surgery. MGB-wise though the pain wasn't too bad. My surgery took 3 hours, longer than expected, but my surgeon has only just started doing MGBs... And my stomach has been though a lot in the past since the lapband mangled it lol Looking forward to heading home tomorrow or the day after if this cough would clear up!
  9. I'm 5'6, 94kgs (207) and hoping to get to 68 kgs (150) I'll let you know how the op goes
  10. Hi sunnynyc, have you had your surgery yet? I'm going in for my mini gastric bypass (conversion from sleeve) on Monday!
  11. Oh no pinklove!! That's shit I hope you can keep it under control until may. At least they have a game plan to manage it until then I suppose. How can they just change their mind like that?! Thanks for the vote of confidence. Here's hoping October is the start of a new chapter for me
  12. I'm feeling ok. Somewhat embarrassed about it though I suppose (I haven't reached goal yet and this will be my 3rd weight loss surgery). But hey, everyone is walking their own road so I'm just trying to stay positive this might be my golden ticket. Hope your pre op went well!
  13. Hi pinklove - I'm also a band to sleeve and now going in in October for a mini gastric bypass
  14. Hi there! Great questions!! Following! I'd love to hear others responses too
  15. Thanks thesupportedhalf! Well done on your weightloss so far... Thats awesome!! You've definitely given me hope that my 3rd time might be the charm
  16. Ooops the first one did work.. bloody phone!
  17. Thanks mi75 I'm glad to hear about your friends success!
  18. Hi all - I'm booked in on October 15th for a revision to an Omega loop in South Australia. Sadly its actually it's a revision of a revision :/ and I feel like a big fat failure. I had a lapband in 2007 (initially lost 35 kilos of the 50 i needed to lose) but developed very unhealthy habits). the band caused me no end of trouble with constant fills and unfills to manage severe (choking in the night) reflux and ended up gaining back nearly 30 of those. I had it removed in 2012 and had to wait 6 months for my revision to a sleeve because the band had done so much damage to my stomach. Because of that damage, my wonderful sleeve surgeon did his best but was unable to make a small, neat sleeve. I only managed to lose 13 kilos in the first few months after that surgery (and no longer have reflux which is great). For the last 6 months I've been back to the old days of panic-dieting... moving from one fad diet to another just to try and not gain. It makes me sad because I really thought that with the sleeve my days of that would finally be over. So I head towards my October surgery with cautious optimism...My surgeon thinks I'm a good candidate for the OL and that they are seeing a few people in a similar situation to me. I'd love to meet others who have had the omega loop or are going to
  19. Well done on your loss so far! I'm pre op mini gastric bypass (revision from sleeve) so can't give you any tips, but just wanted to say well done mate
  20. 58 pounds so far is great! Well done
  21. Hi all... So glad to hear your stories! I'm booked in for an Omega loop in October. I posted this in another thread too, but my story is; I had a band in 2007, lots of reflux and developed terrible eating habits. Went from 118.5kgs to 83... Lots of deflations and inflations to try and manage the terrible reflux. Then got pregnant and deflated the band again....Back up to 102 by the baby's birth. Then had the band removed in dec 2012, after I found out it had slipped. Waited 6 month and revised to a sleeve in may 2013... and went from 107 to 93 within the first 2 months and since then.... well, nothing. Up and down on the same 2 kilos my surgeon said my stomach was so damaged by the band that he just couldn't make my sleeve small enough. I can eat normal sized meals... The only positive is that I don't have any reflux! I'm a bit worried about failing.... Considering I am a band to sleeve and now soon to be omega loop Please keep us posted with your progress! No one I talk to knows anything about the OL, so it's great to find these threads! )
  22. Hi all, I'd be interested to hear any experiences with the Omega loop (mini gastric bypass)! Im from south australia. I had a band in 2007, lots of reflux and developed terrible eating habits. Surgeon recently went to a convention in Vienna about the omega loop and thinks I might be a good candidate... So I'm booked in for October. I feel like a failure that this will be my 4th surgery related to weight loss, but hopeful that this might be the one! Any experiences would be greatly appreciated!
  23. I hear u landen! You aren't alone, I feel like I'm doing worse than pretty much everyone on this site! I've only lost 13ish pounds since surgery 6 weeks ago, and that was in the first 2-3 weeks... I've been stuck since then. I've made an appointment with my nut to see what she has to say
  24. your surgeon sounds smart.... an extra day really now might save a trip back to the ER later . I got discharged (feeling great) and then the next night was readmitted through emergency dehydrated and nauseous...stayed another 3 days in hospital. In the grand scheme of things it wasnt a big deal for me, im nearly 4 weeks out now and feeling great! Hope your feeling better soon mate! hang in there:)
