Pixie Dust got a reaction from ScottsGirl in Divorce rate..post op
We can't change people, no matter what we think. Give it your absolute "ALL" before making any permanent decisions. I guess kind of like before you were sleeved, right? Do what you have to do to be happy tho in the end. No sense in staying with someone who makes you absolutely miserable AFTER you've tried everything. This way there are no regrets. Good luck to you.

I understand how you're feeling, but you married him knowing this about him. Right? Perhaps he needs more time and he very well may be astonished AND inspired by your END results.
Divorce should only be an option when there are no other options available. You married him for a reason... love...? He loved you and picked you to marry him and accepted you just the way you were...??? Let me know if I'm wrong. Don't get discouraged, have faith and patience; sometimes men are like children and both of these traits will help you get through the muck! Cheer up, it does get better IN TIME. ACCEPTANCE/FAITH/PATIENCE

I know this lady was on soft foods when she posted this, but I think it's a good act to follow to stay on track. Thoughts?

I had to laugh when I read your post because I DID try hypnosis. I thought it worked too but on the way home from that session, I stopped at a local pie shop & had a piece of pie...soooooo I might have well set a match to that $50 I spent on hypnosis! LOL!

I think to summarize what a lot of people have said (and was true for me) ... be sure to exhaust every means possible before VSG. This is a drastic, life altering procedure. I'd say somewhere between marriage and having children, for me.
It makes me crazy reading posts from people who say they regret the surgery and wish they would have tried a diet instead. (You mean you haven't tried that a dozen times already? ... Really?)

I was initially scheduled for gastric bypass ( I initially wanted sleeve but I had reflux that was not being controlled). I cancelled two days before surgery. I got scared and decided I could lose weight on my own. I put on twenty pounds pretty quickly and scheduled an appointment with my surgeon. We talked about my fears, developed a plan for addressing my reflux, and scheduled sleeve surgery. you have to do this in your own time. But, I am so glad I did. That feeling of powerlessness and helplessness is gone. I am 3 months out and down 47 pounds from my pre-sleeve weight at this point. It is so to have this tool and see things moving in the right direction.

Since the surgery is irreversible, I would want to be sure before I did it. Do you feel you can do this on your own and succeed? Have you done it before and kept the weight off for a long time? If so, it might make sense to try again.
For me, nothing was working. I was eating very little and was still unable to lose it. When I did, it was always through drastic means and it would all come back even higher than before. I went into this with zero doubts and was very sure that i was not going to be able to do it on my own.
Having said that, I read posts here all the time about people who vacillated until the moment of the surgery so I think it comes down to how decisive you are. I am very decisive. If I'm waffling, there's a good reason why, even if I can't pinpoint it, and I have learned to listen to my gut.
If you are not always decisive (read, opinionated like me, lol) then if may just be a matter of reading as much as you can, and being as sure as you can before you proceed.

My story is pretty much like Cowgirl Jane's. I tried everything & there was nothing left & I felt I was running out of time (or life), so I closed my eyes & jumped in! Good luck on your decision!

You can eat too much. Starvation IS a word. Get the Protein in, you need that to heal. You can delay on the others.

Ohhhh girl! Disneyland is my JAM! My most favorite place; I go about every other month.
I'm still pre-op (surgery on Monday!) but let's see...you could bring some unflavored powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder and doctor up some of their Soups if you're not entirely sick of Soup, LOL. New Orleans Square has some awesome clam chowder and broccoli cheese soup!
There is some really fabulous food in both parks, and I'm sure you can find some great options for the mushy stage! (There's also a really good veggie quinoa cheese bake thing at Flo's V-8 Cafe in California Adventure if you'll be going to that park, it's mushy but delish!)
Anywho, this is a great site that features all of the menus for every restaurant in the parks, and it's kept up-to-date: http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm
    Have a great time!!!

LOL, no problem! It's a really helpful site, especially for getting an idea of where you can eat and stick to plan! When I went to the parks last, I brought Protein bars, Premier Protein shakes, and then treated myself to one healthy meal in the parks a day. It's nice to know your options in advance...plus it's just fun to read about food.

I only have that problem if I eat or drink too fast, then it feels like everything is stuck in my chest. If I eat slower, I don't have that problem.
