  1. That's wonderful vols fan! Congratulation to you & can't wait to see pictures!!
  2. I asked my doctor yesterday since I went for my consultation appointment & he said "why would you want to put all those chemicals in your body???!!" So I guess that's a "no" for him.
  3. Wow!! 14 lbs in such a short time??!! When has that happened before?? Never to me! You go girl!!!
  4. Oh heavens, if my memory gets any worse, I won't remember my own name! I haven't been sleeved yet but now I'm really frightened! Are you diabetic? I know that when my sugar is off, I get a bit confused & can't remember things. Good luck to you & I'll be interested in reading some answers that come out on this thread!
  5. Rut Ro......so we can't eat spicy food anymore? Ever? Or maybe some but after the tummy is all healed? Hoping...
  6. Thank you for your response! I'm more worried about the weight they want me to lose before surgery! I haven't lost anything since my April 8th meeting when the program manager said "from here on out, you count your calories, yada, yada, yada, & if you gain weight, it's all over. Everything gets cancelled." OMG! I'd die if that happened! Well, whatever happens, happens I guess. Are you waiting for insurance approval? It's a covered benefit under my plan so I'm supposed to be given a surgery date tomorrow. If I'm this nervous over a consultation, imagine what I'm going to be like day of surgery! ** sweating bullets**
  7. Do you have about 8 steps to go thru before surgery? I've gone thru just about all of them except for the exercise appt. Tomorrow I meet my surgeon for the first time! I'm a little nervous! Good luck to you Sa'!
  8. I have my first appointment with the surgeon tomorrow! I've had all my other appointments so far, except for the one with the exercise physiologist. That's scheduled for May 6th. I've been pushed through some steps out of order because I told them I really need summer surgery. Don't know if they can schedule me for summer surgery but the program manager of the weight loss center out of my local hospital has been pushing me along with all my different appointments to give me a better chance of getting in by then. I'm not exactly sure what to expect tomorrow but I had to write a "letter of intent" specifying what my reasons are for obtaining bariatric surgery, exactly what I expect out of surgery, my knowledge & understanding about the procedure, my knowledge & understanding about the post op lifestyle changes, what changes I will personally make following surgery, & how I will get support. Did anyone else have to do this??? Other than the doc going over my letter, I have no clue what this visit will involve with him. I guess it's my opportunity to ask questions. I don't even know what to ask??? What do you all think?
  9. You're not posing as a bikini model, you're posing as someone who is getting smaller & healthier!! You should be SO PROUD, look at all you've lost! Your weight loss is amazing! Thank you for sharing!
  10. That looks delicious! Where's mine?
  11. Those of you that say you've had or you drink coffee, do you mean regular or decaf?
  12. Oh boy...I feel your pain! I was told to lose at least 15 lbs but I've also been going up & down. I have a consultation appt with my surgeon on Friday & supposedly, if he sees I've gained weight, it's over. No surgery. WTH???? So I may be looking elsewhere to get my surgery. I have good insurance & it's a covered benefit so I can go just about to any WLS program but I've gone so far with this particular hospital. I understand the fact that it's best for surgery but I hope I can actually lose something before my surgery. This appt on Friday, supposedly, the doc will give me a surgery date. One of the many hoops I've had to jump thru....
  13. Haha! Small bowels!
  14. Congratulations on your weight loss...you're absolutely adorable! Also congrats on dropping the other dead weight too! Wishing you lots of happiness in your new life!
  15. You are so kind & supportive Laura...hope you'll stick around here till after I have my surgery cause I know I'm going to need the same support! As for Lee, I hope everything settles down quickly for you. I'm worried I'm going to feel hungry too. There is no worse feeling...well, maybe labor pains but even after those, you get a reward! I don't know what to say except that I'll pray for you now. Good luck sweetie & keep your chin up. Happy days are coming!
  16. Well, that was rude on his part. You should be VERY proud of what you've accomplished so far! I don't think I could lose 37 lbs on my own at all in fact! Kudo's to you!
  17. Awesome news honeymunki! Keep up the great job!!!
  18. I wanna be just like you!!!!!!!!!!! I always take a bottle up to my room at night (water that is...haha) & if I wake up in the night, I drink cause I'm thristy & I guzzle down half a bottle at a time. Hoping I can do that again one day! I should start practicing now taking small sips but I always forget!
  19. I have all of the above mentioned co-morbidities. Well, not sure about sleep apnea, but who knows? I'm just into my 50's & while I still haven't had the sleeve done, I wish I had thought of it at least 10-15 years ago. I've been carrying the majority of my weight for nearly 20 years also. I feel sorry that my husband got stuck with this. He married a beautiful woman & I'd like to become that woman again...altho he's such a saint, he still looks at me as if I was still that beautiful woman. He has NEVER mentioned my weight. Maybe he doesn't see it? LOL! He still makes me feel as beautiful as I once was. I'm a lucky woman. Now I want to be a healthy woman too! I am scared but not having the sleeve, I'm guaranteed to die of a disease caused by me being obese, so I really have no choice. I'll be around when you get those pics posted!
  20. Wow! You go you sexy thang! Congrats on your weight loss too! You must look like a different person already! Yay you is right!
  21. This is what my surgeon requires of his patients. I wish I'd have gotten a surgeon who lets you eat even just one meal per day! I really don't know how I'm going to survive this, especially since I'll still have to cook for my family! Ugghh.....I can already hear my tummy grumbling!
  22. That's just crazy!!! You must feel so good now! Please post pics as it inspires us pre-op people! Just when I start to feel like I'm going to back out, I read something like you just posted or see before & after pics & I think to myself, "I just HAVE to do this!" I hope someone will give you more food ideas too! Congratulations to you!!
  23. Wow! You look great!!! Hard to believe it's the same person in those pictures! Look at how cute you look in that beautiful black suit too??!!! Congratulations to you!
  24. My doctor is taking me off all meds until 3 months after surgery & then he will run labs on me to see if I need to go back on any of them, but sure praying the diabetes (II) meds won't be added ever again! I can barely afford them, even with good insurance & prescription coverage! Maybe it depends how long you were a diabetic prior to surgery or if you're type I or type II?
