  1. Wow! You look great! Bet you feel even better!!! Congratulations!
  2. **STANDING UP & LOUDLY APPLAUDING!** With all that you just said, I also carry the same mutation gene in my family so I just had a long heart to heart with my GYN who is all for me having the sleeve but tells me to hold off on the double mastectomy because while I do have a 1st cousin that has stage 4 breast cancer, no one else in my immediate family has been dx'd with cancer. Also, reducing my weight will greatly reduce my chances of cancer as well. So I'm taking my chances on the sleeve to help me become healthier. While I'm not ashames of having that done, I'm also not sharing with anyone. Don't need negativity. Hope your Mom & G-ma pull thru this LI Gemini NY! Big (((HUGS))) to you too!
  3. Exactly what ABJ said! My husband works for BCBSM & he said it's the initial BMI that counts. Do not skip your monthly visits either. Good luck to you!
  4. That's how we'll all do it honey, one pound at a time! YES you WILL get there, in spite of someone being negative towards your efforts! We're all on your side, please don't feel alone.
  5. Maybe you can tell them to let you know what they'd like? I'm pre-op but sometimes I'm just at a loss as to what to make for dinner & one of my guys will let me know what they'd like & it solves the problem. I eat anything & so does my husband so we don't care what they want because it's usually a baked chicken dish or "spicy" salmon as they call it! Just a thought...
  6. I'm sure everyone's post to you is very sincere too! You really do look great & what a difference between before & after!
  7. I think I read on a thread a while back that people suggested a sports bra after surgery because it was more comfortable to wear, since it didn't rub against any incisions. Does anyone find that to be true? Cause if so, I'll really have to start looking....I didn't think they made them in my size!
  8. That would have given me goosebumps! How wonderful for you!!!
  9. How scary! So this really will be like a re-birth for you! Happy Mother's Day & Happy being alive day!
  10. I am always so surprised to hear that people are hungry after they get sleeved.....I thought the hunger thing would go away? I'm really getting worried now! Hope you find something to fill you up too! Hunger is not a good feeling.
  11. Oh my...you gave me the chills! Hope everything turns out fine. Please let us know, especially since I'll be worried about you now!
  12. You're as handsome as a movie star! What an amazing difference so far! Congratulations! Bet you feel great!!
  13. OMGoodness...what a wonderful thread! I just pray I'm as fortunate as all you lovely sleevers!! Pretty please dear Lord!!
  14. Years ago, I suffered from Depression. I know what it was caused from, the death of my Mom...but my GYN "made" me join Curves (as well as prescribed anti depressants & for me to go to counseling). It all worked & I was fine within months BUT the best thing that came out of that was the experience at Curves! I **LOVED** it! It's FUN! That's the best way I can describe it! You get a good work out & there are larger ladies there that don't feel comfy going to a regular gym yet, but there are slim people there too, just trying to get themselves a nice workout. I loved going early in the morning, not too many people or I'd go 45 mins before closing. I had to stop when I injured my knee on vacation but I hope one day to return! I see now on their door it says "Rumba" so they must have incorporated dancing with their workouts too, right? Isn't that a sort of exercise/dance? What I just remembered is that sometimes they let you try it out for a week to see if it's for you! Call them to ask about that!
  15. You are as cute as a button!!! Congratulations on your weight loss! You really look fabulous!! Also, you won't have to tell me twice, once I get down, my clothes are outta here!
  16. You sound in good spirits too!! Good for you! Have you needed any pain meds? Just curious... Let us know how your journey goes!
  17. I bet it was just the error of his office staff. Don't make them decide for you what type of surgery to get. Being that the sleeve is supposedly less invasive, they'll probably approve the sleeve & quickly too. They've already gone thru your records. Good luck to you!
  18. Wow! That's awesome for you both!! I sure hope I bounce back like you both did!! Please keep us posted on your journey!
  19. Comments like that are so hurtful. I hope my children will be kind human beings. I always tell them to think of other's feelings before saying something that can hurt people. There's just no more respect out there Sad, but true. I think its great that Chris Christy took action & he doesn't need to answer to anyone regarding his lap band or weight loss.
  20. Just before I posted, I said a prayer for you & your doctor, for God to guide his hands! Keep us informed on how you're doing! Good luck!!
  21. He still may go with the sleeve, down the road....I'm just glad he did something, he has young kids.
  22. All the ladies (& gentleman) above me said EXACTLY what I wanted to say but I couldn't see through my tears after I read your post! Don't lose hope before you even start! You picked out the perfect name for yourself here, "Never be the same again!" So go for it!! I do understand what you're saying though, I see people's pre-op weight & I dream of being THAT weight! You know what though, I firmly believe in "better late than never!" Just think how fast your numbers will drop after your surgery! You will lose an incredible amount of weight in a very short time. Just have a little faith, trust & we're all sending you some "pixie dust!" Be blessed!
  23. That must be so exciting!!! I had a friend tell me yesterday that she was a 3X & in 3 months she's down to a medium! I can't imagine the thrill of that alone, but she said she now wants to wear her labels sticking out so they see her size "M"! Haha!! I'm sure I'll be the same!!
