  1. So today I went ahead and called my insurance to ask the status of my approval or denial for WLS. The customer service agent cheerfully told me I had been approved on May 1st and letters were sent the same day. I called my doctors office and they hadn't got the letter either, but put me down as approved and will call me back as soon as they gather my chart. OMG It's REAL now!!
  2. Most liquid diets I've seen include broth. Get the low sodium kind. Unless your doc gives a specific reason why you can't then go for it.

There's always turning back. Fresh start. Start planning your meals, even make them beforehand if you can. Write down everything you eat so that you can be held accountable and see what you did wrong so that you can fix it. You can do this!
  4. I'm told you won't need a lot, call your hospital and find out what they will already provide. I know mine has toiletries and non skid socks already. I will wear loose fitting clothes to the hospital and then wear them home again so that I don't have to pack any other clothes besides undergarments. I'll bring my phone, charger, probably my laptop just in case. I am debating a firm pillow to hold against my stomach when I get up and down off the bed and then to put between me and the seatbelt on the way home. I'm told a heating pad is nice as is Gas X. Remember everything you playing you have to carry back.
  5. Love to swim, it's my favorite workout. Thanks for the tip!
  6. Juat remember not to eat them in seed form until your stomach is completely healed. Don't want them getting stuck in your incision!
  7. Very true article. Thanks for sharing!

  10. I know BCBS has up to 30 days to review your submission. Mine went in Wed. I can't believe they put you through so much only to find your doc office has been sitting on your paperwork! That would have pissed me off! LOL. At least I knew that my paperwork would not be submitted until Wed (5 days after I completed everything.) I'm glad you got it all worked out now. Good luck!
  11. My (Nameless) surgeon only works at two hospitals. I'm glad, he is as booked as ever already.
  12. Welcome to the group! I've learned everything here and on YouTube. If you have question, feel free to ask! So tell us about yourself. Have you had the surgery yet? Are you thinking about it? What stage are you in? I am waiting for insurance approval myself. Which means I've done my three month diet and NUT visits. My Psychiatric visit, by consult and my doc visit.
  13. I was going to say you look like you spend hours in the gym every day, but then you made your last comment. Jealous :)You look amazing, great job! Are you following a certain diet?
  14. Bingo wings? Is that excess skin in the arms?
  15. Congrats on your approval! I'm waiting for BCBS TX to approval me. Fingers crossed!
  16. Congats!! You will do great!
  17. Check your IRON levels.
