Just kinda freaking out...
I've seen these posts, I know I am not in a class of my own. I still can't convince myself all Is well. I guess I won't be until proven otherwise. What's the saying about not worrying about things until they happen.... Or something like that. I worry about them canceling my surgery because I don't loose enough at my final weigh in tomorrow, I worry that something in my final blood draw comes back and they need to postpone. I worry about not waking up after surgery and leaks and strictures and doing things right. One step at a time... One moment at a time. In just a few short days I will hit the 7 month mark since my referral. I've dreamed of this day for months and its finally here. I just need to make it through the next 32.5 hours :-)

Looking for MyFitnessPal friends
There is a huge thread of nothing but MFP peeps. I'm on my phone so I can't find it at the moment. Definitely give it a search though.

Birth control? 6 week follow up and BCP suggested instead
I would never recommend depo to anyone. I would say birth control is a good idea, you can get low hormone ones and honestly if you are keeping yourself in check you should be fine. My antidepressant has a high weight gain probability, I've been on it 3-4 months and lost weight. I also keep myself in check.

Why did you choose vsg over other wls?
I walked in asking for bypass and my surgeon said you know with your age, lack of co morbidities and difficulty with taking vitamins (I was honest) I would recommend the sleeve, if it were my wife I would recommend the sleeve. Go home and do the online education (required) on bypass and the sleeve and let us know. I had done little listening during the sleeve part of my first weight loss seminar because I knew I was getting the bypass. I went home, did my education, read my required book, searched online and I KNEW I wanted the sleeve. I had no doubt in my mind I was making the right choice. 2 days and 13 hours until surgery time....

Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!
- August 2013 Roll Call
There really is! I think we should start an 8/27 thread or group or something.- Live support groups vs. virtual support groups
I go to a weight loss support group monthly and regularly visit VST. I agree there are clearly defined differences. I appreciate my monthly meetings because they have a different speaker or lesson every month; anything from vitamins to an exercise physiologist, the psychiatrist came in and talked about the mental part of weight loss. I also appreciate VST for the different people, the different views and all of the information in one space.- Why is this forum even here?
I believe that is every time someone "like so one of your posts or comments.- waiting for gallbladder removal...anyone else do this post sleeve?
Mine was just a couple days and a lovely prescription for oxycodone. It's like heaven when that thing gets out!- I got new some new hair (face comparison photo)
It looks great!- OMG!
I was referred by an NP I regularly saw and my first visit with her. My doctors office made me see a resident the next month and I saw her 4 out of the 6 times and saw the original referrer 2 times. I had no issues with approval. Just let ur surgeons office know.- preop blues
I'm with you sister. I am going in Tuesday as well. Clear liquids aren't until Monday but highly restricted, very low carb, heavy protein shake diet has me feeling the blues. I go from great and energetic to a headache and starving to questioning my choice to counting the minutes.- Cold/ No surgery!?!
Tons of fluids.... Saline nasal rinses.... Emergen-C good luck!- Last must-have food before your pre-op diet
The only thing I did was go out to eat with a good friend before my pre op diet at my favorite restaurant. Ordered my normal and came home with a ton of leftovers which my mom took care of. I am day 6 of my pre op diet and doing pretty good.- Crushing meds
I don't crush pills either. My surgeon said I will start taking my antidepressants day 2 and no liquid Tylenol etc... Funny the differences.- Back to work
The ones I pay attention to the most are nurses and I have seen some of them take off up to two months. Long hours, pushing, pulling, lifting, squatting.- Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)
I feel ya sister! I remember waiting.... It was horrid! Good Luck, when are you expecting to find out?- August 2013 Roll Call
I am half way into my 10 day pre op diet! I am back and forth in my struggle to get through it. It is all mental, I am rarely hungry. I haven't "cheated" per se. I have followed my diet in I get in my three protein shakes a day and two small meals, however I am not eating the carbs that were on the list (one slice of whole grain bread with lunch and 1/2C of brown rice with dinner) I am eating meat and veggies on the other two meals and chugging the water. I feel energetic, but if I am late for a protein shake or my small meal I get quite testy! The real test will be Friday and Saturday, my son and I are working two 7 hour shifts out at a music festival, food trucks like crazy.... I will be prepared! I will not be closed up without surgery on Tuesday because my liver is too big! 4 more days of this diet and one day of liquids and surgery!!!- What is left to do?
When my paperwork was finally submitted (Which after my last Dr. appt took about 2 weeks, than 2 weeks for approval) anyway I told them I was on a tight schedule for surgery, otherwise I had to wait for December and they penciled me in pending approval. So I actually knew my surgery date about 2.5 weeks before I even knew if I was having surgery.- What happens if you get the flu?
At my pre op seminar today the RN said for the next couple years that we should always have Zofran on hand in cases such as what you just described. She said she doesn't want us throwing up... Not that it can be avoided.... And no your stomach isn't going to explode. Probably just need to be extra careful during those times.- List of Bariatric Nutritional companies offering Free Samples!
I received my Wellesse vitamins yesterday. They sent me 4 doses of the iron and multi vitamin and 60 doses of the B12. I was pleasantly surprised.- What's the Worst Diet Advice You've Received?
Oh my goodness, that gave me a good chuckle. Your dad sounds like a riot, how fun. - August 2013 Roll Call
