  1. I'm happy to hear it was a false alarm! I got sleeved a couple days ago - I was nervous beforehand myself but things are good right now. You'll do great!
  2. You may not be in the June club anymore, but I'm sure the July club will be happy to have you! Hang in there, it's just a delay. It's not an outright denial. Get that sleep apnea under control, it really is that important.
  3. I got sleeved two days ago (Tuesday 5/28). I lost 50 pounds preop (it would have been more had I not stalled twice the second week of my 2 week liquid diet Since surgery, I've gained 6 pounds. I realize it's only temporary but still, it's a little frustrating.
  4. I feel pretty good. I'm having to take liquid hydrocodone every 6 hours for abdominal and back discomfort (not sure that it's bad enough to call pain). The reason I asked is that I have a theory about 2-week preop diets. I was on one and the day before surgery on Clear liquids. I got over the starving feeling after about 4 days on the first week. The headaches and weakness went away too. I would get the occasional hunger pang but it went away quickly. After surgery I've only felt an occasional hunger pang. My poor wife worries about eating in front of me so I have to keep reminder her it's okay. The worst part of the surgery was the 1st hour in recovery. I woke up fighting the anesthesiologist because I was totally flat and wanted to have my upper elevated because it's hard for me to breathe. Once they elevated me, all I felt was this intense gas cramp. They offered me, and I took, some pain medication and I started feeling better by the minute. Hang in there - you'll start feeling better soon!
  5. I got sleeved on 5/28 as well - congrats! I'm just curious, were you allowed to eat regular food up until your surgery date?
  6. I was sleeved on 5/28/2013 at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. My surgeon was Dr. Manuel Castro.
  7. I've seen people that look like what you're talking about - I'll take it if it means I'll be able to sleep in a bed again after not being able to for over 12 years.
  8. Not everyone here was put on a liquid diet. If I recall correctly, the "a lighter me" program in Mexico allows you to eat what you want up to the last minute. Seriously? Lemon Water and chili diet? I adore chili, I could do that! The sweetness of the Protein Drinks for two weeks straight gets old quick for a person that wasn't much of a sweets person in the first place. I was allowed chicken broth - the first one I had was like a fine steak to me!
  9. The first 3 - 4 days are not going to be pleasant. Get yourself some liquid Tylenol for the headaches. After the 3 - 4 days you will be surprised at how well you feel. You'll feel the occasional hunger pang but it won't be as intense as in the beginning. Avoid situations where it would be easy to cheat. Come back here, start a thread, and whine to your heart's content whenever you feel the need - it helps to vent.
  10. This. Right. Here.
  11. My surgeon referred me to the psychologist they usually refer people to and it went very smoothly. Same with the cardiac clearance.
  12. If you haven't tried it already, get yourself some dry roasted edamame - 14g protein in a 1/4 cup!
  13. Only if your couch is covered in asbestos - it's about to get hot in here!
  14. I'm not able to post a bug in the app in Bugs & Issues - I keep getting this Service reported: You do not have permission to use this feature. Also for what it's worth, every app I've installed on my Galaxy Note 2 has created a shortcut but this one didn't.
  15. Dude - you're an inspiration to me. I mean that.
  16. What is everyone's favorite way to eat it? I've tried a few recipes but they were just "meh" for me.
  17. At mine, they did an EKG and some sort of sonogram on my heart. The cardiologist put me on a daily pill to slow my heart rate down for surgery. Other than that, pretty uneventful
  18. My doctor allows full liquids after discharge so I plan on trying it. If I can't tolerate it, I'll try again later.
  19. Nothing else to talk about - enjoy.
  20. I missed the beginning of the show but I saw this. Why did she behave that way? I thought she wanted him to not die?
  21. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 here - I'll be happy to test the app.
  22. I've always enjoyed miso Soup - it was ESPECIALLY delicious this past week!
