Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!
This post isn't crazy at all - it's brilliant actually. When I lived in Japan I tried squatting and you are absolutely right. I'd never heard of a squatting platform until you mentioned it above, I'm shopping now!

when you stopped your PPI
My surgeon tried to take me off of my PPI right after surgery but I got terrible heartburn about a week later. Just a few days ago I let myself run out just to see if I still needed it, the heartburn was persistent and woke me up in the middle of the night for a few nights. I had to get it refilled and looks like I'll have to take it for the rest of my life. Small price to pay I think.

I made a mistake
I don't think you're crazy - I'd say hold onto those feelings but keep them to yourself. Being disgusted with bad food isn't a bad thing!

Why did you join a gym? What do you expect to get out of it? What kind of physical activity do you enjoy, if any?

eating between meals
I currently go to two regularly, could be three depending on how the one tomorrow goes! Here is a list I posted of all the ones in the DFW area: http://www.verticals...rt-groups-list/ I go to the one at Methodist Hospital (corner of Beckley and Colorado), the one run by Kevin Levin (THINspiration) in Plano, and looking at After the Cut which meets tomorrow morning. I've been invited by friends to several other ones in Plano which I'm considering (one of those friends goes to four different groups regularly every month ).

eating between meals
Glad to help! If you're interested, the app I use is called "Tom's Multi Timer Free" - I don't know if it's made for iPhone as I have an android but it's been incredibly helpful! Right now, I have two timers set up - one for timing between meals and another for timing how soon I can have Water after eating.

eating between meals
I confess I'm not great with water and I could be better. It's not for lack of ability, I can down a Protein shake in about 10 minutes and have no issue with water either. I'm finding I'm better at water when I'm at the gym and trying to keep myself hydrated. I bring a 32oz water bottle to the gym and it's usually empty when I leave an hour later.

eating between meals
Yes. i have a timer on my smartphone that goes off every two hours. Here's a typical day for me First meal: Protein shake made with PB2, usually on the way to work Morning snack: 1/2 cup egg salad Lunch: 1/2 cup chicken salad Afternoon snack: could be Jerky, Ostrim, a Protein Bar, or a Syntrax shake Dinner: usually leftovers from last night's restaurant trip After dinner snack: don't usually have this, but when I do I try to keep it light such as another sytrax nectar.

be honest
i know a couple of people who have lost weight from weight loss surgery without a significant amount of exercise - one can't because of his knees, and one won't because she doesn't believe in it. Hey, if that works for them. i'm here to tell you I started this journey in January of this year. I was 416lbs and couldn't stand for 10 minutes without breaking into a sweat IN A COLD DATACENTER. Yesterday I did a 5k on the treadmill for the first time in my 50 year old life. Today I'm shopping for my first 5K to walk. Did exercise contribute to my weight loss. Maybe or maybe not but i know I'm healthier because of it.

HEY! No interfering with me being preachy!

What is your workout routine?
i am 12 weeks out. I'm working on being able to do a 5k and today was my first day on the treadmill being able to do that. I try to do the treadmill 3 - 5 times a week plus i strap on the heart rate monitor when doing lawn work (I've burned >600 cals just doing the front or the back).

Bread and rice
Yeah but did they not tell you that you're supposed to eat your Protein first, veg second, and carbs last? Ideally you shouldn't even have room for the other two after the protein.
