  1. Nothing wrong with being silly and laughing, I'm one of the worst offenders here. Stick around (or search older threads) and you will find people asking what can they have and they're not joking - it's scary!
  2. Oh I fully expected you to tell her to have at it, but in a way that only YOU can! "Dang eat the box!"
  3. My story is a little similar to Fiddleman's. I was a chunky , awkward kid and i paid for it in elementary and middle school. Our high school had so many kids from that came from so many other schools that it was easy to hide. I went into college and found myself at 5'9" and 238lbs. This was in the 80s when having a Members Only jacket was a must but there was not one to be found at my size. Something snapped and I started starving myself living mostly on Slim Fast power shakes and walking every day. i managed to get down to 175lbs and I was finally thin. I experienced things that I had never experienced before (like catching girls checking me out and looking me over) and things didn't always go the way i thought they would as a slim person (just because you're slim doesn't mean EVERY girl you find attractive will think the same of you). Life was good and being that weight allowed me to go into the Air Force. This is where I began to pay for the mistake of starving myself. When they say "three square meals" they weren't kidding. I was the only person to GAIN weight in basic training and the slim sexy 31 waist jeans I went in with would not fit me afterwards. It was a struggle with weight until I got out of the air force. There was no struggle then as there was no one to get on me about being fat. Up and up the weight went until 15 or so years later i find myself on the higher end of 300lbs. My wife suggested i get weight loss surgery but i wanted to try it on my own first and actually was able to lose 50 lbs. 5 more years of up and down until this year when i'm at 416lbs, I'm diabetic, I have gerd, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea. i succumbed to my wife and met with my surgeon in January of this year for the first time.
  4. I was trying to find nice balance of gmanbat's elegance and Laura-ven's snarkyness so i could reply to this but thanks for beating me to it!
  5. How far out are you from surgery/
  6. You should consider attending support groups post op as well. I attend two different ones monthly. I have a buddy here that attends 4 monthly in the area.
  7. Welcome - I didn't have to do purees either but I think you could get your favorite Soup, blend it, strain out any chunks, and have yourself a safe meal.
  8. Welcome brudda, good to have you here!
  9. Start walking every day. Even if it's just 10 minutes, do that - every day.
  10. It works a whole lot better when you respond to MFP messages your new MFP buddies send to you (hint, hint)
  11. Inspirational, gmanbat!
  12. If you have a smartphone I highly recommend the Wearlink+. Mine talks to an app called DigiFit on my android smartphone and gives me realtime heartrate, calories burned, distance, etc. DigiFit uploads your workout to the digifit website and you can get all kinds of stats there. Also, once configured, DigiFit talks to myfitnesspal so that your workouts are automatically posted there.
  13. Congrats to you! I am 4 pounds away as of this morning and so looking forward to it!
  14. I didn't attempt it until soft foods and had no issues with it.
  15. You're going through what we all did. Give it a few more days and you won't be as miserable and you'll be surprised at how good you feel considering how little you're eating.
  16. I had a quarter cup of whole wheat spaghetti and sauce about 4 weeks out with no issues. I generally try to avoid starches and sugars, however.
  17. I believe I got them at GNC, but Vitamin shoppe may have them as well. Definitely don't buy a box until you're convinced you like them enough.

If bigcountryab is harassing you via PM do not hesitate to report him.
  19. I like the flavor and texture better. Quest's texture is like a brownie to me, the Oh yeah victory are closer to a candy bar (but not obnoxiously sweet like one).

  21. There is a nutrition label at the bottom of this page: http://www.netrition.com/iss_victory_bars.html
  22. I'm 9 weeks out and can only eat half of one of those at this point. They were my favorite until i discovered "Oh Yeah! Victory" bars. I highly recommend giving them a try.

List of what he did under the christian religion and source please.
  24. I had a clear diet 24 hours before surgery. I imagine it could get dangerous cutting your stomach and something still being in there. I also had a clear diet the day I was in the hospital. I was released on full fluids (which did not include meat or veggies).

There's an atheist subforum on this board, have at it. Or post it here. The only one making you a victim at this point is you. I'm not an atheist, I'll just ignore what you're saying.
